PlayOJO app vs Sky Vegas app

PlayOJO app vs Sky Vegas app is a fair fight: both are standalone UK casino apps that run on iOS 15.0 or later, so any reasonably recent iPhone can take either. The real differences are storage (25.4 MB against 155.7 MB), how each welcome offer is built, what you get afterwards and how much each operator publishes.

Key takeaways

  • Both apps need iOS 15.0 or later; Sky Vegas is about six times the size of PlayOJO on iPhone (155.7 MB vs 25.4 MB).
  • A £10 first deposit at PlayOJO brings 80 spins at 10p on Big Bass Bonanza, with no wagering. 18+, terms apply.
  • Sky Vegas’s reported offer adds 50 spins on sign-up to 200 after a £10 stake, but no spin value is published.
  • Sky Vegas now trades under Bonne Terre Gaming Limited (65519); its former licensee was fined £1.17m in 2022 over marketing emails.
  • PlayOJO’s payout, verification and support details come from its own help page; most Sky Vegas money details are third-party.

PlayOJO app vs Sky Vegas app: the scorecard

Because the two apps share the same iOS floor, this comparison is decided on detail rather than on whether your phone can run them. We’ve split it into rounds, each judged only on what the store listings, PlayOJO’s help page and the Gambling Commission’s register show, plus clearly labelled review-site reports for Sky Vegas.

PlayOJO takes more rounds, largely because it publishes more. Sky Vegas wins on jackpot-style content and has a reported no-deposit element in its welcome offer. Read the full PlayOJO app review and Sky Vegas app review, or see every pairing on our compare casino apps page.

Round 1: same iOS 15 floor, very different footprints

Sky Vegas: Casino Games, published by Sky Betting & Gaming with Bonne Terre Ltd shown as provider, needs iOS 15.0 or later and takes 155.7 MB. PlayOJO Real Money Casino (opens in a new tab), from Skill On Net Ltd, needs the same iOS 15.0 and takes 25.4 MB. That’s a gap of 130.3 MB (155.7 − 25.4), and Sky Vegas is a little over six times larger (155.7 ÷ 25.4 ≈ 6.1).

On a phone with plenty of space, that won’t matter. On an older 32 GB or 64 GB handset it might, especially as apps tend to store extra game data once installed. Both run on iPad. PlayOJO also lists Macs with Apple M1 or later (marked as designed for iPad and not verified for macOS) and Apple Vision; Sky Vegas lists no Mac version.

A third-party tracker also mentions a “Sky Vegas Lite” iOS app, but it wasn’t found on the App Store, so don’t install anything under that name without checking the publisher. Our guides to casino app storage space and casino apps on older phones explain how to make room, and Sky Vegas on iPhone covers that listing in more depth.

Round 2: PlayOJO vs Sky Vegas app download on Android

PlayOJO’s Android app is confirmed on Google Play as PlayOJO: Online Casino Games (opens in a new tab), from Skill On Net Ltd, rated PEGI 18. Its data safety section says no data is shared or collected, data is encrypted in transit and you can ask for it to be deleted. Google Play doesn’t show a minimum Android version on the web listing, so your phone will tell you if it can’t install.

Sky Vegas is reported to be on Android by review sites, but its Google Play listing, developer name and rating weren’t confirmed. Search Google Play for the exact name and check the developer before installing; never install a casino APK from an unknown website.

  1. Open Google Play and search for the app’s full name.
  2. Check the developer: Skill On Net Ltd for PlayOJO; for Sky Vegas, a Sky Betting & Gaming or Bonne Terre company.
  3. Read the content rating and data safety section before tapping Install.
  4. After installing, open the app and complete age and identity checks before your first deposit.
  5. Leave Google Play Protect switched on so it keeps scanning apps on your phone.

Our PlayOJO Android app page, Sky Vegas Android app page and guide to installing a casino app on Android go further.

Round 3: privacy labels and location

PlayOJO’s iOS privacy label is short: Identifiers are used to track you, and a Device ID is collected but not linked to you. The listing also says the app may use your location even when it isn’t open, which can reduce battery life. On Android, as above, the data safety section reports no data collected or shared, which doesn’t match the iOS label, so read both.

The Sky Vegas privacy label wasn’t available to compare, so open its App Store page and scroll to App Privacy before installing. Gambling apps must be geo-restricted to where they are licensed under Apple’s and Google’s rules, which is one reason they ask about location. See how to read a casino app privacy label and can casino apps see my location.

Round 4: Sky Vegas vs PlayOJO free spins offers in pounds

PlayOJO’s welcome deal is open to new customers aged 18+ across the UK except Northern Ireland. Make a first deposit of at least £10 through the designated offer link and you get 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p each. Winnings from them are cash with no playthrough, and the deal can’t be stacked with another offer. Terms apply.

At the time of checking (25 October 2026), review sites reported Sky Vegas’s headline as “Get up to 250 free spins”: 50 spins on registration with no deposit, plus 200 more after you deposit and stake £10 within 30 days. Debit card deposits only, spins expire 7 days after they’re credited and spin winnings carry no wagering. Sky Vegas’s own site wasn’t available to confirm it.

PlayOJO’s spins can be priced: 80 × 10p is £8 of play, and at Big Bass Bonanza’s published 96.71% RTP the long-run average return is about £7.74 (£8 × 0.9671). Real results swing widely on a high-volatility slot. Sky Vegas offers more spins, but until a spin value is published, a pound figure would be a guess.

Also note the stake requirement. PlayOJO’s spins arrive with the deposit, while Sky Vegas’s 200 need £10 staked as well as deposited. Both are slot-only offers; live and table games don’t count. Our guides to free spins in casino apps and reading casino app bonus terms explain what to check.

Round 5: rewards after the welcome offer

PlayOJO’s ongoing reward is OJOplus, money back on every game played, alongside OJO Levels, which only go up, and daily perks called Kickers. Not every level gives a reward, and OJO Club is invitation-only. The money-back rate isn’t published on the pages checked, so see how the app shows it. Our OJOplus explainer covers the basics.

Sky Vegas leans on content rather than a cashback-style scheme: review sites highlight its jackpots, mostly from the Jackpot King network, and Sky Vegas-branded slots such as Big Bass All-In, Gold Blitz and Fortune Hotel. Its loyalty scheme isn’t described in the facts available, so check the app.

Neither approach changes the maths. Money back softens losses slightly, and jackpots add a small chance of a large prize, but the house edge still applies to every spin. Read what Jackpot King is and our list of casino apps with cashback.

Round 6: games in the PlayOJO and Sky Vegas apps

PlayOJO’s listing names slots, jackpot slots, bingo, table games and live casino. It doesn’t publish a game count, so check the app’s game lobby for specific titles. Bingo is a point of difference if you like a slower game alongside slots; see our PlayOJO games guide.

Sky Vegas is reported to carry slots, Jackpot King jackpots, live casino, table games and game shows. Game counts vary between sources, from 900+ to about 1,200 from 38+ providers, and none comes from the operator. For game shows on a phone, see our list of best game show casino apps.

On either app, a game’s RTP is in its help screen, and the version in an app isn’t lower by default. UK slots also run at no less than 2.5 seconds per spin, with no autoplay or turbo, and a £5 stake cap per spin for players 25 and over (£2 for 18 to 24-year-olds).

Round 7: PlayOJO vs Sky Vegas withdrawal times and payment methods

PlayOJO’s help page says most payments are processed within a few hours, withdrawals go back to the deposit method where possible and you can withdraw as little as you want. It names debit cards, Payz, Apple Pay and Trustly, says some deposits take up to 3 working days to credit, and allows up to two non-verified cards at a time. Fees aren’t published.

For Sky Vegas, review sites list Visa and Mastercard debit, Maestro, Apple Pay and Pay by Bank, with a reported £5 minimum deposit. One reports Pay by Bank as instant, debit cards in 1 to 4 hours, standard card and Apple Pay payouts in 2 to 5 business days and bank transfer in 3 to 7. These figures weren’t confirmed with Sky Vegas.

Round 8: marketing controls and the £1.17m Sky Vegas email fine

In March 2022 the Commission fined Bonne Terre Limited, trading as Sky Betting and Gaming, £1.17m. A “Bet £5 get 100 free spins” Sky Vegas promotion had been emailed on 2 November 2021 to about 41,395 self-excluded and 249,159 unsubscribed customers. The licence has since moved: Bonne Terre Limited (opens in a new tab) surrendered its licences on 31 October 2025, and Sky Vegas now trades under Bonne Terre Gaming Limited, account 65519 (opens in a new tab).

PlayOJO’s operator has a record too: Skill On Net Limited agreed a £305,150 settlement in May 2023 over social responsibility and anti-money-laundering failures.

The useful lesson for any app is to take control of marketing yourself. Since 1 May 2025, operators must let you choose the products and channels you hear about, covering email, SMS and phone calls.

  1. At sign-up, read the marketing preferences carefully and only opt in to the products and channels you actually want.
  2. Later, find the marketing or communication preferences in your account settings and switch off each product and channel you don’t want: email, SMS and phone calls.
  3. Turn off push notifications for the app in your phone’s settings; they are controlled separately on the device.
  4. If you want a complete break, register with GAMSTOP, which covers every online operator licensed in Great Britain.

See the Commission’s position on marketing product and channel choice (opens in a new tab), our guide to turning off casino app notifications and how to stop casino marketing texts.

Round 9: support and safer gambling tools

PlayOJO’s help page (opens in a new tab) lists live chat after login (availability depends on your country) and email at support@playojo.com, with no phone number. Its tools include Safe Mate, Take A Break, deposit limits, time and loss limits, OJO Safeguard and self-exclusion; decreases to a deposit limit apply straight away, and increases take 24 hours. Verification documents go through an upload tool, and PlayOJO aims to check them within 12 hours.

Review sites report 24/7 live chat at Sky Vegas, starting with an AI chatbot that hands over to a person, plus email at support@skyvegas.com and social media. Its reported tools are a deposit limit prompt at sign-up, reality checks, cool-off periods, self-exclusion and a profit and loss view. Neither operator lists a phone line.

Our pages on PlayOJO customer support, PlayOJO safer gambling tools and setting deposit limits explain how to use them.

Verdict: PlayOJO or Sky Vegas for your phone

  • Short on storage: PlayOJO, at 25.4 MB against 155.7 MB.
  • Mainly after jackpots and branded slots: Sky Vegas, judging by review-site descriptions of its Jackpot King and exclusive content.
  • Want to price the welcome offer before you deposit: PlayOJO, where the spins have a stated 10p value.
  • Prefer to try an app before depositing: Sky Vegas’s reported 50 sign-up spins, if they’re still running when you check.
  • Live in Northern Ireland: PlayOJO’s offer excludes you, so check Sky Vegas’s terms.

Both are UK-licensed, standalone casino apps, and both cost money to play over time. Our best casino apps UK list and the Coral vs Sky Vegas comparison offer other angles.

Frequently asked questions

Is PlayOJO or Sky Vegas the better casino app?

Neither wins outright. PlayOJO is the better pick for storage, published detail and a welcome offer you can value in pounds, while Sky Vegas appeals more if jackpots and branded slots are your main interest. Both need iOS 15.0 or later and both are UK-licensed standalone casino apps. Compare the details in our PlayOJO app review and Sky Vegas app review.

How much bigger is the Sky Vegas app than PlayOJO?

Sky Vegas is 155.7 MB on iPhone and PlayOJO is 25.4 MB, according to their App Store listings. That’s 130.3 MB more, or a little over six times the size. Installed apps can grow as they store game data, so leave some headroom. If your phone is nearly full, see our guide to casino app storage space and how much storage casino apps take.

Does Sky Vegas have a no-deposit offer?

Review sites reported one at the time of checking (25 October 2026): 50 spins on registration, then 200 more after you deposit and stake £10 within 30 days, with debit card deposits only and a 7-day expiry. It wasn’t confirmed on Sky Vegas’s site, and no spin value was given, so check the app. PlayOJO has no no-deposit offer. See are app-only bonuses real.

Who runs Sky Vegas now?

Sky Vegas trades under Bonne Terre Gaming Limited, a Gibraltar company with Gambling Commission account 65519, licensed for remote casino and bingo from 18 November 2024. The previous licensee, Bonne Terre Limited, surrendered its licences on 31 October 2025. Sky Betting & Gaming is part of Flutter Entertainment. Our guide to how casino apps are licensed in the UK explains how to check a register entry.

What was the £1.17m Sky Vegas marketing fine about?

Because a Sky Vegas promotion reached people who had asked not to receive it. On 2 November 2021, a “Bet £5 get 100 free spins” email went to about 41,395 self-excluded customers and 249,159 who had unsubscribed. The Commission fined Bonne Terre Limited £1.17m in March 2022. Our page on marketing consent rules explains your rights, and can casino apps send me offers covers the practical side.

Do the PlayOJO and Sky Vegas apps work on iPad?

Yes. Both App Store listings support iPad on iPadOS 15.0 or later. PlayOJO also lists Macs with Apple M1 or later and Apple Vision, though Apple notes the Mac version is designed for iPad and not verified for macOS. Sky Vegas lists no Mac version. Bigger screens help with live tables and bingo cards. See casino apps on iPad and best casino apps for iPad.

Which pays out faster, PlayOJO or Sky Vegas?

Both can be quick, but only PlayOJO’s figure comes from the operator. PlayOJO puts most payment processing at a few hours. Review sites report Sky Vegas Pay by Bank withdrawals as instant and debit cards in 1 to 4 hours, with some methods taking up to 7 business days. Verification can add time on either. See PlayOJO app withdrawals and which casino app pays out fastest.

Can I get PlayOJO’s welcome spins in Northern Ireland?

No. PlayOJO’s 80-spin offer is for new UK customers excluding Northern Ireland, so you could still open an account but wouldn’t qualify for the spins. The Gambling Act 2005 and Commission rules apply to Great Britain only. Check Sky Vegas’s terms separately if you live there. Our page on Northern Ireland gambling law explains the background.
