Casino apps with cashback in the UK

Casino apps with cashback return part of what you stake or lose, and among our five UK partners only PlayOJO publishes a standing money-back scheme, called OJOplus. Below we rank the apps that come closest, show what cashback is worth in pounds, and are clear about where the published terms stop.

Key takeaways

  • PlayOJO ranks first: its OJOplus scheme pays money back on every game played, according to PlayOJO.
  • Casumo and Coral don’t publish a standing cashback scheme; they run other rewards, so they rank on overall value instead.
  • Cashback trims the cost of play but can’t cancel the house edge: on £100 of slot stakes at 96% RTP, the average loss is £4.
  • If cashback is paid as bonus funds, UK rules cap any wagering at 10x the bonus.
  • Check the rate, the cap and whether payouts are cash before you rely on any cashback figure.

What counts as cashback in a casino app

Cashback is a promise to hand back part of your play, measured either against what you stake or against what you lose over a set period. The word covers several quite different deals, so the first job is to work out which kind an app is offering. Our glossary entry on cashback gives the one-line definition.

The three questions that decide its real value are simple. Is it worked out on stakes or on losses? Is it paid as withdrawable cash or as bonus funds? And is there a cap? A small percentage paid as cash can be worth more than a bigger percentage locked behind wagering.

The main types of casino app cashback and what to check
TypeHow it’s worked outWhat to check
Money back on stakesA share of every stake, win or loseThe rate per game type and when it’s credited
Loss-based cashbackA share of net losses over a day, week or monthThe period, the cap and how losses are measured
Cashback as bonus fundsEither of the above, paid as a bonusWagering (10x maximum in the UK), expiry and game limits
Reward points or coinsPoints earned by playing, swapped for prizesExchange rate and whether prizes are cash or spins

Points schemes aren’t cashback in the strict sense, but apps often blur the line. If you’re weighing those up, our list of casino apps with loyalty rewards covers them separately.

How we ranked casino apps with cashback

We ranked only our partner apps, and only on facts the operators or the app stores publish. Three of the five made this list. The order rests on four tests:

  1. A published, standing money-back scheme rather than a one-off promotion.
  2. Cash, not bonus funds: money back you can withdraw beats credit that must be wagered first.
  3. Clear welcome terms that sit well alongside the scheme, with low or no wagering.
  4. The app itself: whether it’s a dedicated casino app, its size and what it needs to run.

We haven’t ranked apps on a cashback percentage, because none of our partners publishes one in the material we rely on. Where a rate matters, we say so and point you to the app’s own terms. The rest of our ranked lists sit on the best casino apps hub.

The best casino apps with cashback, ranked

1. PlayOJO: money back built into every game

The PlayOJO app is the only partner with a standing scheme that fits the cashback label. PlayOJO says its OJOplus feature pays money back on every game played. The rate and the way it’s credited aren’t set out in the information we hold, so open the OJOplus section in the app before you count on a figure. Our explainer on what OJOplus is covers how it differs from a loss-based deal.

Around it, PlayOJO runs OJO Levels, which only ever go up, daily perks called Kickers and an invitation-only OJO Club. The welcome offer suits the same no-strings approach: 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza for a first deposit of at least £10, at 10p each, with no wagering. 18+, new UK customers only (Northern Ireland excluded), and terms apply. The iPhone app, PlayOJO Real Money Casino, is a casino-only app from Skill On Net Ltd, needs iOS 15.0 or later and is 25.4 MB, according to its App Store listing (opens in a new tab).

2. Casumo: rewards and races, but no published cashback

The Casumo app doesn’t publish a cashback scheme in the information available to us. What it does list is a rewards layer: The Adventure and Trophy Collection, a levelling avatar and Reel Races, slot tournaments with real-time updates in the app. Those reward play in a different way from money back, so treat them as extras rather than a rebate.

It ranks second on the strength of its welcome bonus, which works out well for a mid-sized deposit: 50% up to £100 on a first deposit of at least £20, with 10x wagering on the bonus within 7 days and a £5 maximum bet while it’s active. 18+, opt-in required, and game, play and payment restrictions apply. On iPhone it’s one combined casino and sports app, Casumo Casino & Sports Betting (iOS 15.0 or later, 52.5 MB).

3. Coral: points and prize games instead of money back

The Coral Casino app has no published cashback scheme either. Its store listing points to Smart Rewards, Rewards Grabber and Coral Coins promotions, plus free-to-play games with real-money prizes. None of those is described as cashback, so check the promotions area of the app for current terms.

Coral’s welcome offer is the simplest of the three to value: bet £10 on slots and get 100 free spins at 10p each on selected games, with no wagering on spin winnings. You have 48 hours to accept them and 7 days to use them. 18+, new players, the offer runs from 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027, and deposits by Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don’t qualify. Coral’s iPhone app is a dedicated casino app, separate from its sportsbook.

What casino app cashback is worth in pounds

Cashback is easiest to judge against what play costs you on average. Standard game maths puts the expected loss at stake × house edge. A slot with a 96% RTP has a 4% house edge, so £100 of stakes costs £4 on average, though any single session can land far above or below that. Our house edge explainer shows where the figure comes from.

The rates below are illustrations we’ve picked to show the maths. They are not any partner’s actual terms.

Illustrative cashback on £100 of slot stakes at 96% RTP
ScenarioAverage loss before cashbackCashbackAverage cost after cashback
No cashback£4.00£0£4.00
1% back on stakes, paid as cash£4.00£100 × 1% = £1.00£3.00
10% back on losses, paid as cash£4.00£4 × 10% = £0.40 (on an average result)£3.60
10% back on losses, as a bonus with 10x wagering£4.00£0.40 bonus, then £4 to wager at 4% = £0.16 costabout £3.76

Two things stand out. Stake-based money back pays on winning sessions as well as losing ones, which is why it tends to be worth more than loss-based cashback at the same headline rate. And every version leaves a cost behind: cashback makes play cheaper, it never turns it into a way to make money.

Cashback vs welcome bonus: which gives more back?

A welcome offer is a one-off, while money back carries on for as long as you play. Comparing them in pounds helps. At 10p a spin, PlayOJO’s 80 spins have a face value of £8. Big Bass Bonanza’s top published RTP is 96.71%, so the average return is about £7.74; lower RTP versions of that slot exist, so check the game’s help screen.

Casumo’s bonus scales with your deposit. A £40 deposit earns a £20 bonus, which means £200 of wagering. At a 96% RTP that costs £8 on average, leaving about £12 of the bonus on a typical run. Coral’s 100 spins have a £10 face value, worth roughly £9.60 at a 96% illustrative RTP, after a £10 slot stake that costs about 40p on average.

The welcome offer usually dwarfs a few months of small money back. Cashback only adds up over a lot of play, so it shouldn’t be a reason to play more than you planned. Our guide to how wagering works in casino apps explains the bonus side in more detail, and no wagering casino apps ranks the spin offers on their own.

UK rules that apply to cashback casino apps

Cashback paid as bonus funds is a promotion like any other, so the Gambling Commission’s promotion rules apply. Since 19 January 2026, wagering can’t exceed 10 times the bonus, and promotions that mix gambling products, such as a deal that pays casino cashback for sports bets, are banned. The Commission set both out in its announcement on safer, simpler promotions (opens in a new tab).

  • 10x wagering cap: any wagering on bonus cashback is capped; see our page on the UK wagering cap.
  • No mixed-product deals: casino cashback can’t be tied to betting or bingo play; the mixed-product bonus ban explains the detail.
  • Separate balances: your cash and bonus balances must be shown separately, and you can withdraw your own deposit balance at any time.
  • Clear terms: significant conditions must be shown up front, not buried in the full terms.

The Commission’s consumer guide to free offers and bonuses (opens in a new tab) adds that operators should make clear whether you’re playing with your own money or bonus funds. That matters for cashback, because a credit that looks like cash may come with conditions.

How to check a cashback scheme in a casino app

Before you treat any money-back promise as part of an app’s value, run through these checks. They take a few minutes on your phone.

  1. Open the app’s promotions or rewards area and find the scheme’s own terms page.
  2. Note whether it pays on stakes or on losses, and over what period.
  3. Check how it’s paid: as cash you can withdraw, or as bonus funds with wagering.
  4. Look for a cap per day, week or month, and any minimum before it’s paid.
  5. See which games count. Slots, live casino and table games are often treated differently.
  6. Check your balance after the first payment to confirm it landed where the terms say.
  7. Set a deposit limit in your account settings so the scheme never changes how much you play.

If the terms are hard to find or contradict each other, ask live chat for the current rules in writing. The key conditions usually sit in predictable places, and reading casino app bonus terms shows where.

How to choose a casino app with cashback

Start with how you actually play. If you spin small stakes now and then, a standing money-back scheme returns very little in pounds, and a clean welcome offer matters more. If you play regularly within a fixed budget, money back on stakes trims the long-run cost a little, which is where PlayOJO’s approach fits.

  • Prefer cash to credit: cashback with no wagering is worth its face value; bonus cashback is worth less.
  • Prefer stakes to losses: money back on stakes pays whether you win or lose.
  • Read the cap: a high rate with a low ceiling can be worth less than a modest rate with none.
  • Mind the app: a standalone casino app keeps promotions and limits in one place; see standalone casino apps.

What to avoid with cashback casino apps

  • Playing more to earn more back. Every extra pound staked costs more on average than any cashback returns.
  • Treating loss-based cashback as a safety net. It refunds a small part of a loss, not the loss itself.
  • Missing the payment form. Cashback paid as bonus funds may carry wagering, a deadline and game limits.
  • Offshore sites advertising big cashback. Unlicensed operators offer no Gambling Commission protection, whatever they promise.
  • Multiple accounts. Operators allow one account per person, and breaking that rule can void any rewards.

Frequently asked questions

What is cashback on a casino app?

Cashback on a casino app is a return of part of your stakes or losses over a set period. Some schemes pay a share of every stake, others refund a share of net losses, and some pay the money as bonus funds with wagering attached. The value depends on the rate, any cap and whether it’s paid as cash. Our answer to what cashback means on a casino app covers the variations in more detail.

Which UK casino app has cashback?

Among our five partners, PlayOJO is the only app with a published, standing money-back scheme, called OJOplus. PlayOJO says it pays money back on every game played. Casumo, Coral, Ladbrokes and 10bet run other rewards and promotions, but none publishes a standing cashback scheme in the information we rely on. Check each app’s promotions area for current deals, and see the PlayOJO app review for the wider picture.

Is OJOplus the same as cashback?

OJOplus works like stake-based cashback rather than loss-based cashback. PlayOJO says it pays money back on every game played, so it isn’t tied to whether a session ended up or down. The exact rate and crediting rules aren’t set out in the material we hold, so read the OJOplus terms in the app. Our page on what OJOplus is explains how it compares with other reward types.

Is casino app cashback paid in cash or as a bonus?

It depends entirely on the scheme, so always check the terms. Some apps pay cashback straight into your cash balance, where you can withdraw it. Others pay it as bonus funds, which may have to be wagered before withdrawal, up to the UK maximum of 10 times the bonus. Cash is worth its full face value; bonus cashback is worth less. Our wagering requirement entry explains the difference.

Can cashback have wagering requirements in the UK?

Yes, cashback paid as bonus funds can carry wagering, but it’s capped. Since 19 January 2026, the Gambling Commission limits wagering on any bonus to 10 times the bonus amount. On a £5 bonus that means no more than £50 of wagering. Cashback paid as cash shouldn’t carry wagering at all. The 10x wagering cap page sets out the rule and its start date.

Does cashback stop me losing money on a casino app?

No, cashback reduces the average cost of play but doesn’t remove it. On £100 of slot stakes at a 96% RTP, the average loss is £4. Even a 1% stake-based scheme paid as cash would only bring that down to £3. Over time the house edge still means losses are likely, so set a budget first. Practical tips are in budgeting for casino apps.

Does cashback count on live casino and table games?

Sometimes, but it varies by scheme, so check which games count. PlayOJO says OJOplus pays on every game played, but the rate for each game type isn’t in the information we hold. Welcome offers are different: spin offers are slot-only, and table and live games are often excluded from bonuses or count for less. Our live casino apps list covers apps for those games.

Is casino cashback taxed in the UK?

No, UK players don’t pay tax on gambling winnings, and that covers cashback credited from play. The tax burden sits with operators, whose remote gaming duty rose from 21% to 40% on 1 April 2026. Keep your own record of deposits and withdrawals anyway, as it helps you track spending. Our guide to checking your net deposits in an app shows where to look.
