How much storage do casino apps take?

How much storage do casino apps take? On the UK App Store, our five partner casino apps range from 25.4 MB for PlayOJO to 112.3 MB for 10bet, and all five together come to 393 MB. That is the download size; cached data and updates can add more over time. Here are the figures, the maths and the quickest ways to reclaim space.

Key takeaways

  • Partner casino apps on iPhone are listed at 25.4 MB to 112.3 MB.
  • All five partner apps together total 393.0 MB, well under half a gigabyte.
  • Cached data and updates can make an app take more space than its listed size.
  • Deleting a casino app frees the space but doesn’t close your account or touch your balance.

How much storage casino apps take: the quick answer

Most UK casino apps take somewhere between about 25 MB and just over 110 MB when you first download them, judging by the App Store listings of our five partners. For most phones that is a small slice of the available space.

The listed size is a starting point, not a ceiling. Once you start playing, an app stores login details, settings and cached game graphics, so the space it uses can grow. Sportsbook apps that also contain a casino are usually larger than casino-only apps, because they carry two products in one install.

Casino app sizes compared: UK App Store figures

These figures come from each app’s UK App Store listing, checked in October 2026. Sizes change with every update, so the listing on your phone may differ slightly.

Casino app storage in perspective

A few lines of arithmetic put those numbers in context. Apple counts 1 GB as 1,000 MB in its storage figures.

  • All five partner apps: 25.4 + 52.5 + 101.2 + 101.6 + 112.3 = 393.0 MB, or about 0.39 GB.
  • Coral against PlayOJO: 101.6 ÷ 25.4 = 4.0, so Coral’s app is four times the size.
  • Coral and Ladbrokes together: 101.6 + 101.2 = 202.8 MB.
  • On a 64 GB phone, all five apps would take about 0.6% of the total (0.393 ÷ 64 × 100).

In other words, storage is rarely the reason to choose one casino app over another unless your phone is nearly full. Features, the iOS version an app needs and its safer gambling tools usually matter more.

Casino app storage on Android phones

The Google Play listings for these apps don’t give Android figures we can confirm, and Play now shows details such as the minimum Android version only on your own device. So we don’t publish Android sizes: open the listing on your phone and check there before installing.

All five partner apps are available on Google Play in the UK. If you install from Google Play rather than a downloaded file, Play Protect also checks the app, which is one reason to avoid APKs; our guide to installing a casino app on Android covers the safe route.

Checking the real storage a casino app uses

Your phone shows the real figure, including stored data, not just the download size. The steps below use your phone’s own settings.

On iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings and tap General.
  2. Tap iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage) and wait for the list to load.
  3. Find the casino app in the list and tap it.
  4. Compare App Size (the app itself) with Documents & Data (what it has stored since).

On Android

  1. Open Settings and look for Apps or Storage; the wording varies by phone maker.
  2. Find the casino app and open its storage details.
  3. Check how much is app size, user data and cache.

If an app’s stored data is many times its listed size, clearing the cache or reinstalling usually brings it back down. You will need to log in again afterwards.

Freeing up space taken by casino apps

Each option below frees a different amount of space and has a different effect on what you need to do next time. None of them affects your casino account, which is held by the operator.

Ways to reclaim storage from a casino app
OptionWhereWhat it freesWhat you lose
Clear cacheAndroid app settingsTemporary files such as cached graphicsNothing important; games may load slower once
Offload appiPhone and iPad storage settingsThe app itself, keeping its dataYou reinstall from the App Store to use it
Delete appHome screen or settingsThe app and its local dataSaved login on the device; your account stays open
Use the browserSafari, Chrome or another browserAvoids the install entirelySome app-only features, if any

Our step-by-step guide to clearing a casino app cache covers both platforms. If you delete an app, read what happens to your balance first: the money stays in your account, and closing the account is a separate step.

Why casino app storage grows after updates

Operators update their apps regularly to add games, fix problems and keep up with rule changes, and each update needs some free space to download and install. If your phone is almost full, updates can fail, which can stop the app from opening.

The National Cyber Security Centre recommends that you install app updates as soon as they are available (opens in a new tab), so keeping a little space free is worth it. See how to update a casino app and why casino apps need updates for more.

Casino games with no storage: playing in the browser

If space is tight, the operator’s mobile website uses the same account and generally the same games without installing anything. Your browser keeps a small cache, which you can clear at any time.

Some sites can also be added to your home screen as a shortcut, which looks like an app but takes very little space; see adding a casino web app to your home screen. Our comparison of casino app vs mobile site and the list of casino sites that work without an app set out the trade-offs.

Storage for several casino apps on one phone

Having more than one casino app is allowed, and as the maths above shows, storage is rarely the limit. The bigger question is whether several apps make it harder to keep track of spending.

If you keep more than one, set a deposit limit in each and review your net deposits regularly. Our guide to managing several casino apps helps, and the casino app questions hub answers whether you can have more than one casino app. Read the Coral app review or PlayOJO app review before choosing.

Frequently asked questions

Which casino app takes up the least space?

Among our partners on the UK App Store, PlayOJO’s app is the smallest at 25.4 MB, followed by Casumo at 52.5 MB. Coral and Ladbrokes are both just over 100 MB, and 10bet’s combined sports and casino app is the largest at 112.3 MB. Sizes change with updates, so check the listing before you install. Our smallest download casino apps list keeps the comparison up to date.

Why is a casino app bigger on my phone than in the App Store?

The App Store figure is the app itself. Once installed, the app stores data such as your settings, login details and cached graphics for games you’ve opened, and your phone counts that as part of the app’s total. That stored data can grow over weeks of use. Clearing the cache on Android, or offloading and reinstalling on iPhone, brings it back down; see how to clear a casino app cache.

Do sportsbook apps with a casino take more storage?

Often, yes. A combined app carries both the sportsbook and the casino, so it tends to be larger than a casino-only app. On the UK App Store, 10bet’s combined app is 112.3 MB, while PlayOJO’s casino-only app is 25.4 MB. The standalone casino apps from Coral and Ladbrokes are around 101 MB each. Our page on standalone vs sportsbook apps explains the other differences between the two types.

Will deleting a casino app delete my account?

No. Deleting the app only removes it from your phone. Your account, balance and transaction history stay with the operator, and you can log in again on the website or by reinstalling. If you want to close the account itself, that is a separate request, and if you want a break from gambling there are better tools. See can I delete my casino app account for the steps and what to expect.

How much storage do I need to install a casino app?

At least the listed size, plus some headroom. Our partner apps on iPhone range from 25.4 MB to 112.3 MB, and your phone also needs temporary space while installing and when updates arrive. If your phone is close to full, installs and updates can fail. Freeing a few hundred megabytes is a sensible buffer. Our guide to casino app storage space has more detail on how much room to leave.

Can I play casino games without using any storage?

Almost. Playing on the operator’s mobile website needs no install, and your browser only keeps a small cache that you can clear. You use the same account and, generally, the same games. Some features may be app-only, so compare before deciding. Our answer to do I need to download an app to play at an online casino sets out the pros and cons of each route.

Is the iPad version of a casino app a different size?

The partner apps we cover are single apps that run on both iPhone and iPad, so the App Store lists one size for each. On iPad, Coral and Ladbrokes require iPadOS 18.0 or later, PlayOJO and Casumo iPadOS 15.0 or later, and 10bet iPadOS 16.0 or later. The space actually used on an iPad can still differ because of stored data. See do casino apps work on iPad for compatibility details.

Do casino apps slow down a phone that is nearly full?

A phone that is almost out of storage tends to slow down whatever apps you run, and updates may fail. The casino app itself is rarely the main cause, given that partner apps are roughly 25 MB to 112 MB. Freeing space by clearing caches or removing apps you no longer use usually helps. If a casino app still won’t start properly, try our casino app won’t open guide for step-by-step fixes.
