Apple Pay casino apps in the UK
Apple Pay casino apps let you fund a UK-licensed casino account from your iPhone with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, without typing a card number. Coral, Ladbrokes, Casumo and PlayOJO all name Apple Pay in their published payment information, and 10bet is listed as taking it by third-party sources. Here is how it works, what it costs and where it falls short.
Key takeaways
- Apple Pay charges the debit card stored in your Wallet, so credit cards still can't be used to gamble.
- Coral and Ladbrokes cap each deposit at £2,000; Casumo's minimum deposit is £10 for every method.
- Casumo says Apple Pay withdrawals land instantly once approved; the approval step comes first.
- Apple doesn't charge for Apple Pay, but some welcome offers exclude certain payment types, so read the terms.
- Apple's fee
- None (bank may charge abroad)

- Face ID, Touch ID or passcode
- Card number shared
- No: a device account number is used

- Banned for UK gambling since 14 April 2020

- Coral, Ladbrokes, Casumo, PlayOJO
How Apple Pay works in casino apps
Apple Pay is a wallet layer that sits on top of a card you already own. When you pay a casino through it, the casino's cashier receives a payment from your bank card, but your actual card number never leaves the phone. That is the main reason many iPhone users prefer it to keying in sixteen digits on a small screen.
According to Apple's security and privacy overview (opens in a new tab), Apple doesn't store your original card number. A Device Account Number held in the iPhone's Secure Element is used instead, and each payment is confirmed with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. Apple's UK Apple Pay page (opens in a new tab) adds that online payments are confirmed on an Apple device, or by scanning an Apple Pay code with your iPhone when you're on another device.
One point often confuses people. Apple Pay in a casino app is not an App Store in-app purchase. Apple's App Review Guidelines (5.3.3) say apps may not use in-app purchase to buy credit or currency for real-money gaming of any kind, so the casino runs the payment through its own cashier and Apple Pay simply supplies the card. You can read more about that split in our guide to Apple App Store rules for casino apps.
What the casino sees
The operator sees a card payment from you and records the method as Apple Pay. Because the name on the card must match your verified account, the usual identity checks still apply. UK rules require age and identity to be verified before you can deposit or gamble at all.
Which UK casino apps take Apple Pay
Among our five partners, four name Apple Pay in their own published payment information. The table below sets out what each operator says, with gaps marked where nothing is published. For the full method list of any app, the casino app payment methods hub compares every option side by side.
| Casino app | Apple Pay deposits | Apple Pay withdrawals | What the operator says |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coral | Yes | Yes | Listed in the help centre; withdrawals follow internal approval |
| Ladbrokes | Yes | Yes | Same help-centre wording as Coral (same operator) |
| Casumo | Yes | Yes, instantly after approval | The iOS listing also mentions Apple Pay and Quick Deposit |
| PlayOJO | Named on the help page | Not stated separately | Withdrawals go back to the deposit method where possible |
| 10bet | Third-party listings only | Not published | The help centre doesn't list methods; check the cashier |
Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited, part of Entain, under Gambling Commission account 54743. Their help centres share the same payment rules, so what applies to Coral's payment methods generally applies to Ladbrokes payments too.
Casumo stands out because its App Store listing names Apple Pay and a Quick Deposit feature directly. If depositing from the iPhone itself matters most to you, the Casumo iPhone app page covers that app in more detail.
How to deposit with Apple Pay in a casino app
The exact screens differ between apps, and none of the operators publishes a menu path, so treat these as the general order of events rather than a script. Our separate walkthrough on depositing with Apple Pay in a casino app goes into more detail on each stage.
- Add a debit card to Apple Wallet on your iPhone, using your bank's app or the Wallet app.
- Install the casino's own app from the App Store and sign in to your verified account.
- If it's your first deposit, set a deposit limit when the app prompts you; UK operators must ask before the first deposit.
- Open the cashier or deposit area and choose Apple Pay from the methods shown.
- Enter the amount, keeping to any minimum the cashier displays.
- Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, then check the balance has updated.
Apple Pay casino withdrawals: what to expect
Withdrawing to Apple Pay is possible at more apps than many people expect, but the speed you see quoted always comes after an approval step. No UK rule sets a maximum processing time, so these are each operator's own published figures.
- Casumo says withdrawals are reviewed and processed within a matter of hours, and its withdrawal policy says requests are approved or denied within 3 days. After approval, Apple Pay payouts are listed as instant.
- Coral and Ladbrokes confirm Apple Pay withdrawals. Their help centres say payments are approved by a review team and then take from instantly to five banking days depending on the method.
- PlayOJO says it processes the majority of payments within a few hours and pays back to the deposit method where possible.
- 10bet doesn't publish an Apple Pay payout time. Its help centre gives up to 2 business days for debit cards and e-wallets.
Under Gambling Commission rules, an operator must not offer you the option to cancel a withdrawal once you've asked for it. That protects you from the temptation to put the money back into play. If a payout is taking longer than the published time, our page on a casino app withdrawal pending explains the usual causes.
Apple Pay casino limits, minimums and fees
Apple says it doesn't charge fees for Apple Pay, though your bank may charge if you use the card overseas. The costs and limits that matter come from the casino and your card issuer.
| Casino app | Minimum deposit | Maximum deposit | Withdrawal fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coral | Shown in the cashier | £2,000 per deposit (UK) | None, per the help centre |
| Ladbrokes | Shown in the cashier | £2,000 per deposit (UK) | None, per the help centre |
| Casumo | £10 for all methods | Not published | £3 on withdrawals under £10 |
| PlayOJO | Not published | Not published | Not published |
| 10bet | Not published | Not published | Not published |
The Casumo fee is worth a quick sum. Withdrawing £8 would leave £5 after the £3 charge, a loss of 37.5% of the payout, while withdrawing £10 or more costs nothing. The two Entain brands also limit UK customers to three active payment methods in a rolling 30 days, so adding Apple Pay alongside a card and PayPal could use up your allowance. More on low amounts is on our minimum deposits page.
What a deposit actually buys
A deposit is the cost of entertainment, not an investment. Take a slot with a 96% RTP, which means a 4% house edge. Spending £100 in total stakes, for example 500 spins at 20p, has an expected cost of £4. Results swing widely around that figure in the short term, and losses are the likely outcome over time.
Apple Pay and casino app welcome bonuses
None of our partners runs an Apple Pay-only offer, and paying with Apple Pay doesn't change the value of a welcome bonus. What it can affect is whether you qualify. Operators exclude some payment types, and the list varies.
- Coral excludes Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards. Apple Pay isn't named either way, so confirm before depositing.
- Ladbrokes excludes prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers deposits. Apple Pay isn't named.
- Casumo's offer summary says payment restrictions apply but doesn't name the methods, so check the full terms.
- 10bet excludes Skrill and Neteller deposits.
If your Wallet holds a prepaid card, that card is likely to be caught by the prepaid exclusions even when paid through Apple Pay. Our page on payment methods excluded from bonuses covers the reasoning, and reading casino app bonus terms shows where to find these clauses.
Credit cards in Apple Wallet won't work for gambling
Apple Pay accepts credit, debit and prepaid cards, but UK gambling doesn't. Since 14 April 2020, licensed operators have not been allowed to accept payment for gambling by credit card, including through a money service business. Wrapping a credit card in Apple Pay doesn't change what it is: the charge still goes to a credit account.
The Gambling Commission's credit card guidance (opens in a new tab) explains the rule for players. Some banks also block credit card gambling payments automatically; HSBC, for example, says it does. If a deposit fails, check which card is set as your Wallet default. Our credit card ban page covers the background.
Apple Pay casino apps on iPhone: listing details
To use Apple Pay inside a casino app, you first need the app itself. Here is what each partner's UK App Store listing says. Every one is rated 18+, and the privacy label shows whether financial information is linked to you.
| App Store name | Requires | Size | Financial info in privacy label |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coral Casino: Slots & Games | iOS 18.0 or later | 101.6 MB | Linked to you |
| Ladbrokes Casino Games & Slots | iOS 18.0 or later | 101.2 MB | Linked to you |
| PlayOJO Real Money Casino | iOS 15.0 or later | 25.4 MB | Not listed |
| Casumo Casino & Sports Betting | iOS 15.0 or later | 52.5 MB | Linked to you |
| 10bet: Sports Betting & Casino | iOS 16.0 or later | 112.3 MB | Linked to you |
Coral and Ladbrokes publish standalone casino apps, while Casumo and 10bet combine casino and sportsbook in one app. If your iPhone can't run iOS 18, PlayOJO and Casumo have lower requirements; our guide on which iOS version casino apps need explains how to check. For a wider look at the platform, see casino apps on iPhone.
Is Apple Pay safe for casino apps? Security and blocks
On security, Apple Pay is a strong option: the merchant never receives your card number, and a lost phone can't pay without your face, fingerprint or passcode. The bigger safety question for many people is control over spending.
Several UK banks let you block gambling payments on your debit card, and HSBC says its restriction also covers digital wallets. Not every bank says the same, so check how yours treats Apple Pay. The Gambling Commission's list of bank gambling blocks (opens in a new tab) names the banks that offer one, and our guide to gambling blocks on banking apps covers how they differ.
Inside the casino app, a deposit limit caps what can go in regardless of method. Because Apple Pay makes paying quick, setting that limit first is a sensible habit. If gambling stops feeling like entertainment, the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 is open 24/7.
Casino apps with Apple Pay and a welcome offer
Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo all list Apple Pay and run a welcome offer for new players. None of the offers depends on Apple Pay, and each has its own payment exclusions, so read the full terms. All are 18+ and terms apply.
- Coral: 18+, new players, 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027. Deposit and bet £10 or more on slots to get 100 free spins on selected games at 10p each; accept within 48 hours and use within 7 days. No wagering on free spin winnings. Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don't qualify.
- Ladbrokes: 18+, new customers. Deposit and spend £10 or more on slots to get 50 free spins a day for 10 days (up to 500), 10p each on selected games; claim before 23:59 each day, valid for 7 days, no wagering. Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers deposits don't qualify.
- Casumo: 18+, new customers, opt-in required. 50% bonus up to £100 on a first deposit of at least £20; wager the bonus 10x within 7 days with a maximum £5 bet. Game, play and payment restrictions apply.
Spin offers are for slots only; table and live games are usually excluded or count for less. Because one company runs Coral and Ladbrokes, you may not be able to open new accounts at both. Gambling costs money, and the house edge means losses are likely over time.

None of these offers is specific to Apple Pay. Each has its own payment exclusions, so check that the card behind your Wallet qualifies before you deposit. 18+, terms apply.
Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open another; check the terms first.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use Apple Pay on casino apps in the UK?
Yes, several UK-licensed casino apps accept Apple Pay. Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo list it in their own payment information, and PlayOJO names it on its help page. You need a debit card in Apple Wallet, a verified casino account and the casino's app or website. Methods change, so check the cashier before you rely on one. Our Apple Pay casino apps list ranks the partner options.
Can I withdraw winnings to Apple Pay?
Often, yes. Casumo lists Apple Pay withdrawals as instant once approved, and Coral and Ladbrokes confirm Apple Pay payouts after their review team approves the request. Every withdrawal goes through an approval step first, so the instant part only starts after that. If your chosen app doesn't offer Apple Pay payouts, money usually goes back to the card you paid with. Our guide to how long casino app withdrawals take compares the published times.
Does Apple charge a fee to use Apple Pay at a casino?
No, Apple says it doesn't charge fees for Apple Pay. Your bank may charge for overseas use, and the casino sets its own fees. Neither Coral nor Ladbrokes charges withdrawal fees, while Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals under £10. 10bet and PlayOJO don't publish fee figures, so check the cashier. See our casino app withdrawal fees page for a side-by-side view.
Do Apple Pay deposits count for casino welcome bonuses?
It depends on the operator's terms. Coral and Ladbrokes name the payment types that don't qualify, such as PayPal, Skrill and prepaid cards, and Apple Pay isn't on either list, but Coral also excludes certain debit cards. A prepaid card added to Apple Pay is likely to be excluded. Check the offer's full terms before depositing. Our page on payment methods excluded from bonuses explains why operators do this.
Can I use a credit card in Apple Pay to gamble?
No. Since 14 April 2020, UK-licensed gambling operators can't accept credit card payments, and that includes credit cards paid through a wallet or money service business. Apple Pay passes the payment to the card behind it, so a credit card stays a credit card. Set a debit card as your default in Wallet before you deposit. Our credit card question page covers the rule in more detail.
Is Apple Pay safer than entering my card details in a casino app?
In terms of card security, Apple Pay has clear advantages. Apple says it doesn't store your original card number and uses a device account number instead, and each payment needs Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. The casino still holds your account and identity details, so strong account security matters too. Our guide to keeping your casino account secure covers passwords and two-factor sign-in.
Why was my Apple Pay casino deposit declined?
The most common causes are a credit card set as your Wallet default, a bank gambling block, a deposit limit you've already reached, or a method the casino doesn't take. At Coral and Ladbrokes there's also a cap of three active payment methods in 30 days. Check your Wallet card first, then your bank app, then the casino's limit settings. Our payment declined guide works through each cause.
Can I use Apple Pay on a casino app on iPad or Mac?
Usually, where the casino app or website supports Apple Pay and your device has a card set up. Apple says you confirm online payments on an Apple device, or scan an Apple Pay code with your iPhone on other devices. All five partner apps list iPad among their compatible devices on the App Store. See casino apps on iPad for requirements and screen considerations.
