How to deposit with Apple Pay in a casino app
How to deposit with Apple Pay in a casino app: open the app's cashier, choose Apple Pay, enter an amount and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. The money comes from a debit card in your Apple Wallet, never a credit card. - Coral and Ladbrokes cap each deposit at £2,000 and let you withdraw back to Apple Pay.
- Apple doesn't charge a fee for Apple Pay; check each offer's excluded payment methods.

How to deposit with Apple Pay in a casino app, step by step
Depositing with Apple Pay takes under a minute once your account is verified and a debit card sits in your Wallet. Button names differ between apps, but the order is the same everywhere.
- Open the casino app on your iPhone or iPad and log in to your verified account.
- Go to the deposit area. Most apps call it the cashier or banking section, reached from your account or balance.
- If it's your first deposit, set a deposit limit when prompted. UK operators have had to ask since 31 October 2025.
- Choose Apple Pay from the list of payment methods.
- Type the amount. Check it against the app's minimum, which is shown in the cashier, and any offer's minimum.
- Check the Apple Pay sheet shows the right debit card. Tap the card to switch if you have several.
- Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
- Wait for the confirmation, then check your balance and the transaction history in the app.
If Apple Pay doesn't appear as an option, the app may not offer it, or it may be hidden because your Wallet has no eligible card. Android users can follow our Google Pay deposit guide instead, and the guides hub has more cashier walkthroughs.
Before your first Apple Pay casino deposit
A few things need to be in place first. Sorting them out before you open the cashier avoids most declined payments.
- A verified account. UK operators must check your age and identity before you can deposit. See first deposit in a casino app for what that involves.
- A debit card in Apple Wallet. Add it in the Wallet app; a credit card won't work for gambling.
- Your own name on the card. Coral's and Ladbrokes' help pages set out own-name payment rules; check your operator's cashier rules for the same.
- Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode set up. Apple Pay won't confirm without one.
- A budget. Decide your limit before you deposit, not after.
Which UK casino apps accept Apple Pay deposits
Apple Pay availability is set by each operator's cashier, not by the App Store. Here's what our partners and two other brands publish.
| Casino app | Apple Pay deposits | Apple Pay withdrawals | Minimum deposit | Source of detail |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coral Casino | Yes | Yes | Shown in the cashier | Coral help centre |
| Ladbrokes Casino | Yes | Yes | Shown in the cashier | Ladbrokes help centre |
| PlayOJO | Yes (named on help page) | Paid back to the deposit method where possible | Check the cashier | PlayOJO help page |
| Casumo | Yes | Yes, instantly after approval | £10 for all methods | Casumo website |
| 10bet | Listed by a third-party review | Not published | Not published | Check the app's cashier |
For a ranked view, see our Apple Pay casino apps list, or the quick answer to which casino apps accept Apple Pay. Each partner's payments page, such as Coral Casino app payment methods, lists every other option too.
How Apple Pay works inside a casino app
Apple Pay passes a payment from a card in your Wallet without handing over the card number. According to Apple's security and privacy overview (opens in a new tab), Apple doesn't store your original card number; a Device Account Number held in your device's Secure Element is used instead. You approve each payment with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
It isn't an App Store purchase. Apple's App Review Guidelines (opens in a new tab) say apps may not use in-app purchase to buy credit or currency for real-money gaming, and real-money gambling apps must be free to download. So your deposit goes through the casino's own cashier, with Apple Pay acting as the way your debit card pays. Our Apple App Store rules guide covers the other rules.
Apple says it doesn't charge fees for Apple Pay, though your bank may charge for overseas use. More on that is on Apple's UK Apple Pay page (opens in a new tab).
Apple Pay and the credit card ban: debit cards only
Credit cards can't be used to gamble in Great Britain, and haven't been since 14 April 2020. The ban also covers credit card payments made through a money service business, and operators accepting e-wallets have to make sure the money wasn't loaded from a credit card. In practice, that means the card behind your Apple Pay deposit must be a debit card.
| Card in Apple Wallet | Can you use it to gamble in Great Britain? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Debit card in your name | Yes | Normal funding method |
| Credit card | No | Credit card gambling banned since 14 April 2020 |
| Prepaid card | Depends on the operator | Some offers exclude prepaid cards; check the cashier and terms |
| Someone else's card | No | Payments must be in your own name |
The Commission's guide to gambling using a credit card (opens in a new tab) explains the ban for players. Our credit card ban page covers how it applies across payment methods.
Apple Pay casino deposit limits, fees and timing

|---|---|---|---|
| Maximum per deposit | £2,000 (UK) | Not published | Not published |
| Minimum deposit | Shown in the cashier | Not published | £10 |
| Payment methods | Up to 3 active methods per rolling 30 days | Check the cashier | Check the cashier |
| Apple fee | None | None | None |

Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain) and share the same published payment rules, including the £2,000 cap in their deposit methods help page (opens in a new tab). The three-method limit is worth knowing: if you've used Apple Pay, a debit card and PayPal in the last 30 days, a fourth method may be refused. For more on minimums, see casino app minimum deposits.
Can you claim a casino app bonus with Apple Pay?
Often yes, but always check. Welcome offers usually name the payment methods that don't qualify, and Apple Pay isn't on the published exclusion lists for our three featured offers. Coral's terms do exclude 'certain debit cards' without naming them, so read the full terms before you deposit.
| Offer | Named exclusions | Apple Pay named? |
|---|---|---|
| Coral: bet £10 on slots, get 100 free spins | Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards, certain debit cards | No |
| Ladbrokes: play £10 on slots, up to 500 free spins | Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill, Moneybookers | No |
| PlayOJO: 80 free spins, no wagering | None named in the published key terms | No |
| 10bet: 100% bonus up to £25 | Skrill and Neteller | No |
Our payment methods excluded from bonuses page explains why e-wallets and prepaid cards are often left out. Bonuses come with conditions, and the house edge still applies to anything you stake.
Withdrawing back to Apple Pay
Most UK operators follow a closed-loop policy: winnings go back to the method you deposited with, where that's possible. Coral's and Ladbrokes' help pages confirm withdrawals to Apple Pay. After an internal review, their published timeframes run from instantly to five banking days depending on the method, and neither charges a withdrawal fee.
Casumo says Apple Pay withdrawals arrive instantly after approval, and its policy says requests are approved or denied within 3 days. PlayOJO says it processes most payments within a few hours and returns money to the deposit method where it can. Our guides to how to withdraw from a casino app and Ladbrokes app withdrawals go into the detail.
Apple Pay casino deposit declined? Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Declined straight away | Credit card selected in Wallet | Switch to a debit card on the Apple Pay sheet |
| Declined by your bank | A gambling block on your card; HSBC's covers digital wallets | Leave the block in place if you set it for a reason; it's working |
| Apple Pay missing from the cashier | Not offered, or no eligible card in Wallet | Add a debit card, or choose another method |
| Payment method refused | Three-method limit in 30 days (Coral, Ladbrokes) | Use a method you've already used |
| Amount rejected | Below the minimum or above the £2,000 cap | Check the cashier's limits |
| Account not ready | Verification incomplete | Finish verification first |
Our casino app payment declined guide covers more cases. If you've added a bank block and want to understand how it works, see gambling blocks on banking apps; the Commission keeps a list of banks that block gambling transactions (opens in a new tab).
Keeping one-tap Apple Pay deposits under control
Apple Pay makes depositing quick, which is exactly why a limit matters. Set a deposit limit in the app before the first payment and treat it as the budget for entertainment, not as money you expect back.
- Set daily, weekly or monthly deposit limits in casino apps; decreases apply at once, increases take at least 24 hours.
- Turn on a bank gambling block if you want a hard stop on card payments, including Apple Pay at banks whose block covers wallets.
- Use reality checks and time-outs if sessions run longer than planned.
- Free, confidential support is available from the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133, run by GamCare and open 24/7.

Frequently asked questions
Can you use Apple Pay at UK online casinos?
Yes, at many of them. Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO and Casumo all name Apple Pay in their own help or website pages, and you choose it in the app's cashier like any other method. The card behind it must be a debit card, because credit card gambling is banned in Great Britain. Our Apple Pay casino apps page has the wider picture.
Why was my Apple Pay casino deposit declined?
The most common reasons are a credit card selected in Wallet, a gambling block on your bank card, an unverified account or an amount outside the cashier's limits. Coral and Ladbrokes also allow only three active payment methods in a rolling 30 days. Check the card on the Apple Pay sheet first. Our payment declined guide walks through every cause.
Can I use a credit card through Apple Pay to gamble?
No. Credit card gambling has been banned in Great Britain since 14 April 2020, including payments routed through other services, and operators must make sure e-wallet funds don't come from a credit card. Add a debit card to Apple Wallet and pick it on the payment sheet. Our credit card ban page explains the rule.
Is there a fee for depositing with Apple Pay?
Apple says it doesn't charge any fee for Apple Pay, and our partners don't publish deposit fees for it. Your bank may charge if you pay in a foreign currency. Withdrawals are separate: Coral and Ladbrokes don't charge, while Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals below £10. Our withdrawal fees page compares the published charges.
Can I withdraw winnings to Apple Pay?
At some casinos, yes. Coral and Ladbrokes confirm withdrawals to Apple Pay, and Casumo says Apple Pay withdrawals arrive instantly once approved. PlayOJO returns money to the deposit method where it can. Timings depend on each operator's internal review, which comes before the payment is sent. See how long casino app withdrawals take for published timeframes by operator.
Does Apple Pay count for casino welcome bonuses?
Usually, but check the offer. Apple Pay isn't named in the exclusion lists for the Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO or 10bet welcome offers we cover, but Coral also excludes 'certain debit cards' without listing them. Terms can change, so read them before your first deposit. Our payment method exclusions page explains how these lists work.
Is Apple Pay safer than typing in my card details?
It shares less information. Apple says it doesn't store your original card number and uses a Device Account Number instead, and every payment needs Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. That doesn't replace a strong casino password or two-step verification. Our guide to keeping your casino account secure covers the account side.
Can I use Apple Pay on an Android phone casino app?
No. Apple Pay works on Apple devices such as iPhone and iPad. On Android, the equivalent is Google Pay, which Coral and Ladbrokes both list with a published £5 minimum deposit. The steps are much the same as on an iPhone, and the same debit-only rule applies to the card you link. Our Google Pay deposit guide covers it.
