Casino apps on iPhone
Casino apps on iPhone come from the App Store only, are free to download and must be run by a licensed company. Your main check is the iOS version: Coral and Ladbrokes now need iOS 18.0, while PlayOJO and Casumo still run on iOS 15.0. Here is what each app asks of your phone, and how to set it up safely.
Key takeaways
- Coral and Ladbrokes need iOS 18.0 or later; 10bet needs iOS 16.0; PlayOJO and Casumo need iOS 15.0.
- Sizes on the App Store range from 25.4 MB (PlayOJO) to 112.3 MB (10bet) among our partner apps.
- Apple bans in-app purchases for real-money gambling, so deposits go through the casino's own cashier.
- Read the privacy label before installing: it shows what each app links to you or uses to track you.
- Screen Time restrictions, GAMSTOP and bank blocks all work alongside an iPhone casino app.
- Where to get them
- Apple App Store (UK storefront)
- Lowest iOS needed (partners)
- iOS 15.0 (PlayOJO, Casumo)
- Highest iOS needed (partners)
- iOS 18.0 (Coral, Ladbrokes)
- Smallest partner app
- PlayOJO, 25.4 MB
- App Store age rating
- 18+
- Paying in the app
- Casino cashier, never Apple in-app purchase
Which iOS version casino apps on iPhone need
This page is part of our casino apps by device section. It covers the iPhone only; iPad owners should read our casino apps on iPad guide, because iPadOS listings and screen sizes change a few answers.
The App Store listing for every UK casino app states a minimum iOS version, and it is the first thing to check. If your iPhone runs something older, the App Store either refuses the download or offers the last version that suited your phone, which may no longer work with the casino's servers.
Among our five partners the spread is wide. Entain's two dedicated casino apps, Coral and Ladbrokes, both list iOS 18.0 or later. 10bet asks for iOS 16.0, while PlayOJO and Casumo still support iOS 15.0. That gap matters if you hold on to an older handset, and our guide to which iOS version casino apps need explains how to find your own version in Settings.
| App (UK App Store name) | Seller | Requires | Size | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coral Casino: Slots & Games | Entain | iOS 18.0 or later | 101.6 MB | Dedicated casino app |
| Ladbrokes Casino Games & Slots | Entain | iOS 18.0 or later | 101.2 MB | Dedicated casino app |
| PlayOJO Real Money Casino | Skill On Net Ltd | iOS 15.0 or later | 25.4 MB | Casino-only brand |
| Casumo Casino & Sports Betting | Casumo | iOS 15.0 or later | 52.5 MB | Combined casino and sportsbook |
| 10bet: Sports Betting & Casino | 10bet Limited | iOS 16.0 or later | 112.3 MB | Combined sportsbook and casino |
The table shows the App Store listings as they read in October 2026. Requirements move upwards over time, so treat it as a snapshot and recheck the listing before you rely on an older phone. Our older phones page covers what to do when your iPhone falls behind.
Standalone casino app or sportsbook app on your iPhone
Not every iPhone casino app is a casino first. Both Coral and Ladbrokes publish separate casino apps from their betting apps, and PlayOJO has no sportsbook at all. Casumo and 10bet put sports and casino inside one app; 10bet's listing even sits in the App Store's Sports category rather than Casino.
A combined app is not worse by default. It does mean a bigger download for features you may never open, and the casino lobby sits one tap deeper. If you only want slots and table games, our list of standalone casino apps narrows the field, and standalone vs sportsbook apps sets out the trade-offs.
Other UK casino apps for iPhone
Plenty of non-partner brands also publish iPhone apps. Their App Store listings show the same spread of requirements, from very old to very new.
| Brand | Requires | Size | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sky Vegas | iOS 15.0 or later | 155.7 MB | Standalone casino |
| Betway | iOS 15.1 or later | 63 MB | Standalone casino |
| Virgin Games | iOS 16.0 or later | 95.4 MB | Standalone casino |
| BetMGM | iOS 16.4 or later | 211.5 MB | Combined sports and casino |
| PartyCasino | iOS 18.0 or later | 107.3 MB | Standalone casino |
| kwiff | iOS 13.0 or later | 19.7 MB | Combined sports and casino |
How to download a casino app on iPhone safely
Real-money casino apps for UK players are on the App Store, and Apple's rules say they must be free to download. You never need a file from a website or a link in a text message. Follow these steps for any of the apps above.
- Open Settings, tap General, then About, and note your iOS version.
- Open the App Store and search for the casino's exact app name, such as "Coral Casino: Slots & Games".
- Check the seller line under the app name. It should match the operator (for example Entain for Coral and Ladbrokes, or Skill On Net Ltd for PlayOJO).
- Scroll to Information and confirm the iOS requirement, the size and the 18+ age rating.
- Read the App Privacy section before you tap Get.
- Tap Get, confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple Account password, and wait for the install.
- Open the app, then sign up or log in. Age and identity checks must be completed before you can deposit or play.
Each partner has its own walkthrough: the Coral iPhone app, the Ladbrokes iPhone app, the PlayOJO iPhone app, the Casumo iPhone app and the 10bet iPhone app. For a general walkthrough, see download a casino app on iPhone.
Apple's App Store rules for real-money casino apps
Apple treats gambling as one of its most regulated categories. Under guideline 5.3.4 of the App Store Review Guidelines (opens in a new tab), a real-money gaming app must hold the necessary licences where it is used, must be geo-restricted to those places and must be free on the App Store.
- No in-app purchase for gambling credit. Guideline 5.3.3 bars apps from using Apple's in-app purchase to buy credit or currency for real-money gaming, so money moves through the casino's own cashier.
- A company, not an individual. Apps in highly regulated fields, gambling included, should be submitted by the legal entity that provides the service.
- 18+ rating. Real-money gambling falls under Apple's 18+ age rating, and every app in the tables above shows 18+.
- No gambling aids. Apple does not permit illegal gambling aids such as card counters.
Store rules sit on top of UK law rather than replacing it. The Gambling Commission licence is what protects you, and our page on App Store rules for gambling apps explains how the two fit together.
iPhone casino app privacy labels compared
Every App Store listing has an App Privacy section, written by the developer. It splits data into what is used to track you across other companies' apps and websites, what is linked to your identity, and what is collected but not linked. A casino has to hold your name, contact details and payment history for licensing reasons, so the interesting part is tracking.
| App | Used to track you | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Coral | User Content, Usage Data | Coarse location, linked to you |
| Ladbrokes | No tracking category shown | Precise location, not linked to you |
| PlayOJO | Identifiers | Listing warns it may use location when the app is closed |
| Casumo | Identifiers, Usage Data, Diagnostics | Not listed on the iOS label |
| 10bet | Usage Data | Not listed on the iOS label |
On an iPhone you can refuse tracking when the app asks, and you can review location access later in Settings under Privacy & Security. Apps must still keep play inside licensed areas, so turning location off may stop some features. Our guide to reading a casino app privacy label goes through each category line by line.
Face ID, Touch ID and Apple Pay in iPhone casino apps
Biometric login is a phone feature that apps can choose to use. Casumo's App Store listing says it supports Face ID and Touch ID login; the Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO and 10bet listings don't mention it, so check the app's settings after you log in.
Apple's Face ID security page (opens in a new tab) says your face data stays encrypted on the device and is never available to apps. The casino only learns whether the check passed. That makes Face ID a sensible extra lock, though anyone who knows your phone's passcode may still get in, which is why two-factor authentication is worth turning on where offered.
Apple Pay deposits
Apple Pay appears in the payment pages of Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo, and PlayOJO names it on its help page. That gives most iPhone users a quick way to pay without typing card numbers. Credit cards remain banned for gambling in Great Britain, including when added to Apple Pay, so only a debit card wallet will work. See Apple Pay casino apps for limits and bonus rules.
Performance, storage and updates on your iPhone
Casino apps are mostly a shell around games streamed or loaded from the operator's servers. The download size is only a starting point, because game files, images and cached data build up as you play. If your storage is tight, the 25.4 MB PlayOJO app and the 211.5 MB BetMGM app will feel very different after a few weeks.
Live dealer tables stream video, so they lean harder on your connection and battery than a slot does. Wi-Fi tends to be steadier than mobile data, and a weak signal can drop you from a hand. Our guides to casino app data usage and battery life explain what to expect in general terms.
Keep iOS and the app updated. The National Cyber Security Centre advises installing app and system updates as soon as they arrive and switching on automatic updates. In the App Store, tap your profile picture to see pending updates, or read how to update a casino app.
UK rules you will notice in any iPhone casino app
The same Gambling Commission rules apply whether you play on an iPhone, an Android phone or a laptop. A few are especially visible on a small screen.
| Rule | Since | What you see |
|---|---|---|
| Age and identity checks before play | 7 May 2019 | Verification during sign-up, before any deposit or game |
| Credit card ban | 14 April 2020 | Credit cards refused, including inside Apple Pay |
| No autoplay, 2.5 seconds per slot spin | 31 October 2021 | No autoplay or turbo buttons on slots |
| Wider game design rules | 17 January 2025 | Net spend and time on screen; one game at a time |
| Slot stake limits | 9 April and 21 May 2025 | £5 a spin (25 and over), £2 a spin (18–24) |
| Wagering cap | 19 January 2026 | Bonus wagering no more than 10x the bonus |
The stake limit and design rules cover the game, not the device, so they apply the same in an app and in Safari. Our slot stake limits page has the full detail.
How to limit or block casino apps on iPhone
An iPhone gives you several ways to put distance between you and a casino app, and they work best in layers. Apple's Content & Privacy Restrictions guide (opens in a new tab) shows how to stop new apps being installed and how to limit apps by age rating.
- Inside the casino app, set a deposit limit before your first deposit; UK operators have to prompt you to do this.
- In Settings, open Screen Time and use Content & Privacy Restrictions to block installing apps, or to allow only apps below the 18+ rating.
- Ask someone you trust to set the Screen Time passcode so you can't change it on impulse.
- Register with GAMSTOP (opens in a new tab) to block all GB-licensed gambling companies for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years.
- Turn on your bank's gambling block if it offers one.
Step-by-step help is on our pages about blocking gambling apps on iPhone and GAMSTOP self-exclusion. If gambling has stopped being fun, the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 is free and open 24 hours a day.
Choosing the best casino app for your iPhone
Start with compatibility, then look at what you actually play. An iPhone on iOS 17 rules out Coral, Ladbrokes and PartyCasino today, but PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet all fit. If you only want casino games, the dedicated apps keep the lobby front and centre.
- Older iPhone, little storage: PlayOJO's 25.4 MB app and iOS 15.0 requirement are the lightest of our partners.
- Biometric login wanted: Casumo is the only partner whose listing states Face ID and Touch ID support.
- Casino only, newest iOS: Entain's Coral and Ladbrokes apps are dedicated casino apps from one operator.
- One app for sport and casino: Casumo or 10bet.
Our ranked list of the best casino apps for iPhone weighs these points, and iPhone vs Android casino apps explains where the two platforms differ. Whatever you pick, the house edge means you should expect to lose over time, so set a budget you are comfortable spending.

Frequently asked questions
Do casino apps work on all iPhones?
No, each casino app works only on iPhones running its minimum iOS version or later. Coral and Ladbrokes need iOS 18.0, 10bet needs iOS 16.0, and PlayOJO and Casumo need iOS 15.0, according to their App Store listings. If your phone can't update that far, the app may not install or may stop working after a server change. Check Settings, then General and About, for your version, and see our page on older iPhones for options.
Are casino apps on iPhone free to download?
Yes, Apple's App Store rules say real-money gambling apps must be free to download. You pay nothing to install Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo or 10bet. Money only changes hands when you deposit through the casino's cashier, because Apple also bans in-app purchases for gambling credit. Any app that asks you to pay Apple for chips is either a social casino or something to avoid. Read more in are casino apps free to download.
Can I use Apple Pay in a casino app on my iPhone?
Yes, several UK casino apps accept Apple Pay with a debit card. Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo list it on their payment pages, and PlayOJO names it on its help page. Credit cards are banned for gambling in Great Britain, even inside Apple Pay, so the wallet must hold a debit card. Some welcome offers exclude certain payment types, so read the offer terms before your first deposit. Our Apple Pay casino apps page has the details.
Is it safe to install a casino app on my iPhone?
It is safe when the app comes from the App Store and is published by a UK-licensed operator. Check that the seller name matches the operator, that the age rating is 18+, and that the brand appears on the Gambling Commission's public register. Avoid links in texts or social media posts promising special app versions. Keeping iOS updated adds another layer. Our guide are casino apps safe lists the full set of checks.
Which iPhone casino app is the smallest download?
Among our partners, PlayOJO is the smallest at 25.4 MB on the App Store, followed by Casumo at 52.5 MB. The Coral and Ladbrokes apps are just over 101 MB each, and 10bet is 112.3 MB. Of the other brands, kwiff lists 19.7 MB, but it is a combined sports and casino app. Sizes grow once games and data are cached, so leave some headroom. See casino apps with the smallest download size.
Can I log in to a casino app with Face ID?
Some casino apps let you log in with Face ID, but not all say so. Casumo's App Store listing states Face ID and Touch ID support; the Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO and 10bet listings don't mention it, so look in the app's settings after you sign in. Apple says face data never leaves your device and apps only learn whether the check passed. Read Face ID and Touch ID on casino apps for set-up tips.
How do I stop myself using casino apps on my iPhone?
Combine an iPhone block with a gambling-wide block. Screen Time's Content & Privacy Restrictions can stop new apps being installed or hide apps rated 18+, and someone else can hold the passcode. GAMSTOP then blocks every GB-licensed gambling company for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years, and many banks can block gambling payments. Our guide to blocking gambling apps on iPhone walks through each step, and the National Gambling Helpline (0808 8020 133) is there any time.
Why can't I find a casino app in the App Store?
Usually because your Apple Account is set to a non-UK country, your iPhone has content restrictions on, or you are searching the wrong name. Real-money apps are geo-restricted to licensed places, so a UK casino app only shows on the UK storefront. Try the exact store name, such as "Ladbrokes Casino Games & Slots", and check Screen Time restrictions. More causes are in why can't I find a casino app in the App Store.
Are iPhone casino apps different from the website?
The account, balance and licence are the same, but the app can differ in layout and extras. Games run on the operator's servers, so apps don't have lower RTP by default; check the game's help screen for the version you are playing. Apps can add phone features such as Face ID or Apple Pay. Our page is the casino app the same as the website explains the usual differences.
