Which casino apps accept Apple Pay?

Which casino apps accept Apple Pay? Four of the five UK apps we cover name it: Coral, Ladbrokes, Casumo and PlayOJO, with 10bet’s help centre silent on methods. Apple Pay is simply a secure way to use your debit card, so the casino’s usual rules, checks and limits still apply.

Key takeaways

  • Coral, Ladbrokes, Casumo and PlayOJO publish Apple Pay; 10bet’s help centre doesn’t list methods.
  • Apple Pay passes a debit card payment through your iPhone, confirmed with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
  • A credit card saved in Apple Wallet still counts as a credit card, which UK casinos can’t accept.
  • Apple Pay isn’t an App Store in-app purchase: Apple bans in-app purchase for real-money gaming credit.

Which casino apps accept Apple Pay: partner by partner

Apple Pay is the most widely published wallet among our five partners. Here’s what each operator says on its own help or payment pages.

Casumo goes furthest in its App Store listing, which mentions Apple Pay and a Quick Deposit feature inside the Casumo app. The Coral app and the Ladbrokes app list it on their help centres for both directions. The PlayOJO app names it among a short set of methods, and the 10bet app leaves you to check its cashier.

How Apple Pay works inside a casino app

Apple Pay doesn’t hold money of its own. It’s a layer over a card you’ve added to Apple Wallet. When you pay, you confirm on your device with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, and the payment comes from the card behind it.

Apple’s security and privacy overview (opens in a new tab) explains that Apple doesn’t store your original card number. A Device Account Number kept in the Secure Element is used instead. Apple also says it doesn’t charge fees for Apple Pay, although your bank may charge for overseas use.

Because it rides on a card, Apple Pay follows the card’s rules. A gambling block on your debit card can reach it too: HSBC, for example, says its debit card gambling restriction covers digital wallets.

Apple Pay vs in-app purchase on the App Store

People sometimes assume a deposit on an iPhone goes through their App Store account. It doesn’t. Apple’s App Review Guidelines (opens in a new tab) say apps may not use in-app purchase to buy credit or currency for real-money gaming of any kind, and real-money gaming apps must be free on the App Store.

So a real-money casino app on iPhone takes payment through its own cashier, and Apple Pay is one option inside that cashier. If an app tries to sell you gambling credit as an App Store purchase, treat that as a red flag. Our guide to App Store rules for casino apps explains the rest of Apple’s gambling rules.

How to deposit with Apple Pay on an iPhone casino app

  1. Add a debit card to Apple Wallet if you haven’t already. Leave credit cards out of it for gambling.
  2. Download the casino app from the App Store, register and complete the age and identity checks.
  3. Set a deposit limit when you’re prompted before your first deposit.
  4. Open the app’s cashier and choose Apple Pay.
  5. Enter the amount and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
  6. Check the balance has updated before you open a game.

Using a credit card in Apple Wallet for casino apps

Apple Pay with a credit card is still a credit card payment. UK-licensed gambling businesses haven’t been allowed to accept credit card payments since 14 April 2020, and that includes payments routed through another service. The Commission’s LCCP condition 6.1.2 (opens in a new tab) sets the rule out.

If your default Wallet card is a credit card, switch to a debit card at the payment sheet, or the casino will decline the deposit. Our page on whether you can use a credit card on a casino app goes into the detail.

Apple Pay withdrawals: what operators publish

Not every wallet works in reverse, but Apple Pay does at three partners. Coral and Ladbrokes confirm Apple Pay withdrawals on their help pages, after an internal approval and then a method time of anywhere from instantly to five banking days. Neither charges withdrawal fees.

Casumo lists Apple Pay in its withdrawal table with payment instantly after approval. Its policy says requests are approved or denied within three days, and it charges £3 on withdrawals under £10. PlayOJO says it processes most payments within a few hours and returns money to the deposit method where possible.

Apple Pay on iPad, Mac and Android casino apps

Apple Pay belongs to Apple devices. Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO and Casumo list their iPhone apps as also running on iPad and on Macs with Apple silicon, with the note that they’re designed for iPad and not verified for macOS. On Android, look at Google Pay in casino apps instead.

If you prefer an e-wallet that works across every device, our PayPal casino apps answer covers which partners list it, plus the bonus catch. For iPhone set-up more generally, see casino apps on iPhone.

Apple Pay makes paying quick, so set limits first

A glance at your phone can approve a deposit, which is convenient and also a reason for care. Casino games are paid entertainment with a built-in house edge, so set a limit you’re comfortable losing. Deposit limits are set at account level in the casino, so they cover Apple Pay and every other method.

You can also go further on the device itself. Our guide to blocking casino apps with Screen Time covers iPhone restrictions, and the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 is free and open 24 hours a day.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Coral casino app accept Apple Pay?

Yes, Coral’s help centre lists Apple Pay for deposits and withdrawals. The Coral Casino: Slots & Games app needs iOS 18.0 or later, and Coral caps each UK deposit at £2,000. Withdrawals go through an internal review before the method time applies, and Coral says it charges no withdrawal fees. See the Coral payments page for every listed method and the Coral iPhone app page for the listing details.

Can I use Apple Pay on PlayOJO?

Yes, PlayOJO’s help page names Apple Pay alongside debit cards, Payz and Trustly. It doesn’t say whether Apple Pay can be used for withdrawals, but it does say money goes back to the deposit method where possible and that most payments are processed within a few hours. The PlayOJO Real Money Casino app needs iOS 15.0 or later. Our PlayOJO payments page has the rest.

Does Casumo take Apple Pay?

Yes. Casumo’s UK site lists Apple Pay for deposits, and its withdrawal table says Apple Pay payouts arrive instantly after approval. The App Store listing for Casumo Casino & Sports Betting also mentions Apple Pay with a Quick Deposit option. Casumo’s minimum deposit is £10 for all methods, and a £3 fee applies to withdrawals under £10. Details are on our Casumo payments page.

Can I withdraw winnings to Apple Pay?

At some apps, yes. Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo all confirm Apple Pay withdrawals. Each one pays out only after its own approval checks, so the review stage usually takes longer than the transfer itself. Other operators may pay out by a different method, so look at the withdrawal options in the cashier before you deposit if this matters to you. Our guide on how to withdraw from a casino app walks through the steps.

Is Apple Pay safe for casino deposits?

Apple Pay adds a useful layer of protection: Apple says it doesn’t store your card number and uses a device-specific number instead, and each payment needs Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. The casino still needs to be UK-licensed, so check the operator’s name on the Gambling Commission register. Read our page on whether casino apps are safe to download for the other checks.

Does Apple charge a fee for casino payments with Apple Pay?

No. Apple says it doesn’t charge fees for using Apple Pay, though your bank may charge for overseas use. Casino fees are separate: Coral and Ladbrokes say they don’t charge withdrawal fees, while Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals under £10. Always check your own bank’s terms as well. Our page on casino app withdrawal fees compares every partner’s published position.

Why was my Apple Pay casino deposit declined?

The most likely cause is the card behind Apple Pay. If it’s a credit card, a UK casino has to refuse it. A gambling block on your debit card, an unfinished identity check or a deposit limit you’ve already reached can also stop the payment. Coral and Ladbrokes also limit UK customers to three active payment methods in 30 days. Our guide to a declined deposit covers each cause.

Does Apple Pay work with casino welcome bonuses?

It depends on each offer’s terms. Apple Pay isn’t named as excluded in the Coral, Ladbrokes or PlayOJO offer terms we’ve summarised, but Coral excludes certain debit cards, and the card behind Apple Pay could fall into that group. Read the payment exclusions on the offer page before your first deposit. Our explainer on payment methods excluded from bonuses shows what to look for.
