Depositing with Google Pay in a casino app

To deposit with Google Pay in a casino app, add a UK debit card to Google Wallet, open the app’s cashier, pick Google Pay, type an amount and confirm it with your phone’s screen lock. The published Google Pay minimum at Coral and Ladbrokes is £5; other apps vary, so check the cashier first.

Key takeaways

  • Only a debit card in Google Wallet works: credit card gambling has been banned in Great Britain since 14 April 2020.
  • Two partners, Coral and Ladbrokes, list Google Pay for deposits and withdrawals, with a £5 minimum each way and a £2,000 cap per deposit.
  • Google Pay withdrawals at Coral and Ladbrokes go back to the card behind your wallet.
  • Read the welcome offer’s payment exclusions before your first deposit, and set a deposit limit when the app prompts you.

How to deposit with Google Pay in a casino app: the short version

Google Pay works in a casino app much as it does in any shopping app. The cashier hands the payment to Google, Google asks you to confirm it, and the casino receives a token instead of your real card number. Your money comes from the debit card you saved in Google Wallet.

The catch is that not every UK casino app offers it. Among our five partners, only Coral and Ladbrokes list Google Pay on their help pages. The others either don’t mention it or point you to the live cashier, so it pays to look before you sign up. Our Google Pay casino apps hub tracks where it is listed.

This walk-through sits in our casino app guides and covers the setup, the deposit itself, limits, bonuses and what happens when you want money back out.

What you need before a Google Pay casino deposit

Three things have to be in place before the Google Pay button will do anything useful: a verified casino account, a wallet with a suitable card, and a phone that can confirm payments.

What you needWhy it matters
A verified casino accountUK rules say age and identity must be checked before you can deposit or gamble
A UK debit card in Google WalletCredit cards can’t be used to gamble in Great Britain
A screen lock on your phoneGoogle requires one for wallet payments, and a locked phone can’t make purchases
The casino app installed from an official storeReal-money apps on Google Play must hold a licence for the UK
A deposit limit decisionSince 31 October 2025, apps prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit

If you haven’t installed the app yet, our guide to installing a casino app on Android covers the Play Store side. If verification stalls, see casino app verification failed.

Setting up Google Wallet for casino app payments

Google Pay and Google Wallet are two names you will see for the same tap-and-confirm system. The setup is done once, outside the casino app.

  1. Open Google Wallet on your Android phone (install it from the Play Store if it isn’t there).
  2. Choose to add a payment card and add a debit card issued in your own name.
  3. Complete your bank’s verification step, which is usually a code by text or a check in your banking app.
  4. Make sure your phone has a screen lock set, because Google won’t process wallet payments without one.
  5. If you hold more than one card, decide which debit card you want the casino to see and set it as the default if you like.

On an iPhone the equivalent wallet is Apple Pay, which both Coral and Ladbrokes also list. Our step-by-step Apple Pay deposit guide covers that route.

Step-by-step: making a Google Pay deposit in the app

Menus differ between apps, so treat the steps below as the general order of events rather than exact button names.

  1. Log in to the casino app and open the deposit or cashier area from your account.
  2. If this is your first deposit, respond to the prompt to set a deposit limit (you can choose an amount yourself).
  3. Select Google Pay from the list of payment methods. If it isn’t shown, the app doesn’t offer it to your account.
  4. Enter the amount. At Coral and Ladbrokes the published Google Pay minimum is £5, and no single deposit can exceed £2,000.
  5. If you want a welcome offer, opt in or choose it as the terms describe before confirming.
  6. Confirm the payment when Google prompts you, using your phone’s screen lock or biometric check.
  7. Wait for the balance to update, then check the transaction appears in your account history.

A Google Pay deposit isn’t a way round your bank’s gambling block. HSBC, for example, says its debit card gambling restriction also covers digital wallets.

Which UK casino apps accept Google Pay?

The table shows what each partner publishes about Google Pay. Where an operator says nothing, we say so rather than guess. Our ranked list of casino apps with Google Pay explains how we order them.

Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited, part of Entain, and their help centres publish matching payment rules, including the Coral Google Pay FAQ (opens in a new tab) and the Ladbrokes Google Pay FAQ (opens in a new tab). That makes them the clearest examples of how Google Pay works in practice.

The three-method rule is worth knowing before you experiment. If you’ve already used a card, PayPal and Pay by Bank in the past 30 days, adding Google Pay may not be possible until one drops off. For wider context on low entry points, see our page on casino app minimum deposits.

Google’s own help pages don’t mention fees for wallet payments, and the casinos above don’t list a deposit fee. Your bank’s usual terms still apply, so check them if anything looks unusual on your statement.

Does a Google Pay deposit qualify for a casino app bonus?

Payment exclusions are the most common reason a first deposit misses a welcome offer. The current partner terms name the methods that don’t count, and Google Pay isn’t on either the Coral or the Ladbrokes list as we record them.

  • Coral excludes Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards.
  • Ladbrokes excludes prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers.
  • PlayOJO’s welcome offer needs a first deposit of at least £10 through its designated offer link.

Coral’s wording about certain debit cards matters here, because Google Pay draws on a debit card. Read the full terms in the app before you confirm, and ask support if you’re unsure. Our page on payment method exclusions explains why operators exclude some methods.

Remember that spin offers are slot offers. Table games and live casino are usually excluded or count for less, and the house edge still applies to every spin you play.

Withdrawing to Google Pay after you deposit

Coral and Ladbrokes both work on a closed-loop basis, which means money goes back to the method it came from where possible. With Google Pay, the help pages say withdrawals are paid to the card that sits behind your wallet.

The process starts with an internal review by the operator’s team. After approval, the two brands say funds take anywhere from instantly to five banking days depending on the method. Our full guide on how to withdraw from a casino app walks through each stage, and the Coral payments page and Ladbrokes payments page list every method.

UK rules also mean you can’t be offered the chance to cancel a withdrawal once requested, so the money can’t be pulled back into play from the app.

Is Google Pay safe for casino app deposits?

Google’s payment safety help page (opens in a new tab) says its wallet replaces your card number with a randomly generated virtual number when you pay, and that card details aren’t stored on your device. That means the casino’s systems handle a token rather than the long number printed on your card.

A screen lock is required, so someone who picks up a locked phone can’t make a wallet payment. That doesn’t protect you if a family member knows your PIN, so consider who has access to your phone. There’s more on passwords and two-step checks in our guide to keeping your casino account secure.

The credit card ban still applies inside a wallet. The Gambling Commission’s guide to gambling with a credit card (opens in a new tab) explains that the rule covers credit card payments made through payment services as well as direct card payments, so add a debit card only.

Google Pay casino deposit declined: what to check

Most failed wallet deposits come down to a handful of causes. Work through these before contacting support.

  • The card in Google Wallet is a credit card, which UK casinos can’t accept.
  • Your bank has a gambling block switched on for that card.
  • You’ve reached the three-active-methods limit at Coral or Ladbrokes.
  • The amount is under the £5 minimum or over the £2,000 per-deposit cap.
  • Your account verification hasn’t finished, or a deposit limit you set has been reached.
  • The app needs updating, or the wallet card has expired.

Our dedicated page on a casino app payment declined goes through each cause in more detail.

Keeping Google Pay casino deposits under control

Paying with a fingerprint is quick, and that convenience cuts both ways. A deposit limit set in the app is the most direct brake, and decreases take effect immediately. Our guide to setting deposit limits in a casino app shows how they work.

Treat every deposit as the cost of entertainment, not money you expect back. To see the full picture over a month, read our guide to checking your net deposits in an app. If you want a harder stop, a bank gambling block can cover wallet payments, depending on your bank.

Casino apps that take Google Pay deposits

Coral and Ladbrokes are the two partners whose help pages confirm Google Pay for both deposits and withdrawals, which is why they sit first below. PlayOJO is included as an alternative, but check its cashier for Google Pay before you rely on it. All offers are 18+ and terms apply.

New customers who deposit and spend £10 or more on slots get 50 spins a day for 10 days, 10p each on selected games, claimed by 23:59 each day and valid for 7 days, with no wagering. Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers deposits don’t qualify. Coral and Ladbrokes share an operator, so you may not be able to open new accounts at both.

PlayOJO: 80 free spins with no wagering for new UK customers (excluding Northern Ireland) on a first deposit of £10 or more. The spins are on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p each, winnings are paid as cash, and the offer can’t be combined with others and is only available through the designated offer link.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Google Pay on a casino app in the UK?

Yes, in some apps. Coral and Ladbrokes both list Google Pay for deposits and withdrawals in their help centres, with a £5 minimum each way. PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet don’t name it on the pages we checked, so open the cashier in those apps to see whether it appears for your account. Our answer to can I use Google Pay on a casino app and the Google Pay glossary entry cover the basics.

What is the minimum Google Pay deposit in a casino app?

The published minimum for Google Pay is £5 at both Coral and Ladbrokes. Neither PlayOJO, Casumo nor 10bet publishes a Google Pay figure, and Casumo says its minimum is £10 for all payment methods it lists. Remember that welcome offers often need more than the minimum: PlayOJO’s needs £10, for example. See our guide to a first deposit in a casino app for what else to check.

Can I put a credit card in Google Pay and use it at a casino?

No. Credit cards can’t be used to gamble in Great Britain, and the ban has applied since 14 April 2020. The Gambling Commission’s licence condition covers credit card payments made through a payment service as well as direct card payments, so loading a credit card into a wallet doesn’t change anything. Use a debit card. Our page on the credit card ban explains the rule and its scope.

Where does my money go when I withdraw after a Google Pay deposit?

At Coral and Ladbrokes, withdrawals to Google Pay are paid to the debit card behind your wallet. Both use a closed-loop approach, so money returns to the method you used where possible. Withdrawals first go through an internal review, then take from instantly to five banking days depending on the method. Read how long casino app withdrawals take for a method-by-method view.

Does Google Pay count for casino welcome bonuses?

It depends on the offer’s terms. Google Pay isn’t named in the Coral or Ladbrokes exclusion lists as we record them, but Coral also excludes certain debit cards, and Google Pay uses a debit card. Read the terms shown in the app before you deposit and ask support if in doubt. Bonuses always carry conditions, and the spin offers apply to slots only. Our welcome bonus guide for Coral sets out the full terms.

Is Google Pay safer than typing my card into a casino app?

It keeps your real card number out of the transaction. Google says it uses a randomly generated virtual number and doesn’t store card details on your device, and a screen lock is needed to pay. That reduces exposure if a merchant’s systems are ever compromised. It doesn’t stop someone who knows your PIN, so protect your phone too. Our are casino apps safe guide covers wider app security.

Why is Google Pay missing from my casino app’s cashier?

Usually because the operator doesn’t offer it. Only Coral and Ladbrokes confirm Google Pay among our partners. In those apps it can also be hidden if you’ve already used three different payment methods in the past 30 days, which is their published limit. Updating the app and checking your wallet card is still valid also helps, and it’s worth confirming your identity verification is complete before trying again.

Will my bank’s gambling block stop Google Pay casino deposits?

Often, yes. HSBC says its debit card gambling restriction covers digital wallets, and other banks’ card blocks generally act on the card itself. Coverage varies, though: some blocks don’t reach bank transfers or third-party apps. To make sure the block stops wallet deposits, check your bank’s help page. Our guide to gambling blocks on banking apps compares what the main UK banks offer.
