How to claim a bonus in a casino app

How to claim a bonus in a casino app, in short: check you’re eligible, verify your account, deposit with a payment method that qualifies, then meet the qualifying stake and accept the reward inside its time window. None of our five UK partner offers needs a promo code, but each has its own trigger, and missing one step is the usual reason a bonus never appears.

Key takeaways

  • Read the significant terms first: eligibility, qualifying deposit method, stake, spin value, wagering and expiry.
  • Your identity must be verified before you can deposit or play, including with a bonus.
  • E-wallets and prepaid cards are the most common reason a deposit doesn’t qualify.
  • Spin offers count slot play only; table and live games are often excluded or count for less.
  • Claim windows can be short: Coral gives 48 hours to accept its spins, Ladbrokes gives until 23:59 each day.

How to claim a bonus in a casino app: the quick steps

The order below works for almost every UK welcome offer, whether it is a spins deal or a matched deposit. The details that change between apps are covered in the sections that follow.

  1. Open the offer’s significant terms and check eligibility, the qualifying payment methods, the stake, the expiry and any wagering.
  2. Install the app from the App Store or Google Play, or arrive through the offer link if the terms say the offer is link-only.
  3. Register, choosing the welcome offer at sign-up if the app asks you to, and complete the identity check.
  4. Set a deposit limit when prompted before your first deposit.
  5. Deposit at least the minimum with a payment method the terms don’t exclude.
  6. Play the qualifying stake on eligible games, usually £10 on slots.
  7. Find the reward in the app’s promotions or rewards area and accept or claim it inside the window.
  8. Use it before it expires, keeping to any maximum bet and game list.

If you are new to the cashier, our guide to your first deposit in a casino app covers step five in more depth.

Check you’re eligible for the casino app bonus first

Every UK welcome offer is for adults aged 18 or over who are new to that brand, and most allow one welcome offer per person. Some go further: PlayOJO’s offer excludes Northern Ireland, and Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited, so holding an account at one may stop you opening a new one at the other. The explainer on why you can’t open accounts at Coral and Ladbrokes explains the link.

Operators must show the significant terms with the offer and keep the full terms no more than one click away, under the Commission’s marketing code 5.1.9 (opens in a new tab). Read them on your phone before you register, not after the deposit, and use our checklist for reading casino app bonus terms.

Since 7 May 2019 your age and identity have to be verified before you can deposit or gamble, including with a bonus. If the app asks for a document, upload it through the app’s own tool; see casino app age verification.

How the main UK casino app welcome bonuses are claimed

Here is how the trigger, the window and the payment exclusions compare across our five partner apps, using the terms last checked on 5 October 2026. 18+ and full terms apply to each.

Each brand’s bonus page goes deeper: see the Coral welcome bonus, Ladbrokes welcome bonus and PlayOJO welcome bonus.

Choose a payment method that qualifies for the bonus

Payment exclusions catch out more players than anything else. Coral and Ladbrokes both shut out PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, Neteller and prepaid cards from their spins offers, and 10bet excludes Skrill and Neteller. A deposit by an excluded method still goes into your balance as normal; it simply doesn’t trigger the offer.

A debit card or, where the app accepts it, Apple Pay is usually the safest route, though Coral also excludes “certain debit cards”, so check the list. Credit cards can’t be used to gamble in Great Britain at all. The guide to payment methods excluded from bonuses tracks the common exclusions.

Opting in: offer links, sign-up choices and promo codes

The Gambling Commission says players must opt into promotions rather than be enrolled automatically. In practice, apps do this in one of three ways, and none of our partners asks for a promo code.

  • Through the offer link: PlayOJO’s 80 free spins are available only through the designated offer link and can’t be combined with other offers.
  • At registration: 10bet asks you to choose the casino welcome bonus when you sign up, then make your first deposit within 7 days.
  • By ticking or tapping to opt in: Casumo’s 50% bonus needs an opt-in before the deposit.

Spins offers from Coral and Ladbrokes are triggered by the qualifying slot spend once you are a new player. If you’re unsure whether you’re opted in, ask live chat before depositing. The Commission’s guide to free offers and bonuses (opens in a new tab) sets out what operators must make clear.

Meeting the £10 qualifying stake on slots

For the Coral and Ladbrokes offers, the trigger is £10 of real-money slot play. That could be 100 spins at 10p, 20 spins at 50p or 10 spins at £1. UK rules cap online slot stakes at £5 a spin if you’re 25 or over and £2 if you’re 18 to 24, and each spin takes at least 2.5 seconds.

The qualifying play has a cost. Standard game maths puts the expected loss at stake × house edge, so on a slot with a 96% RTP (a 4% edge) £10 of play costs about 40p on average. Short sessions swing far more than that either way, which is why you should treat the £10 as money spent on entertainment.

Blackjack, roulette and live casino games won’t count towards these spin offers. Read more in can I use a bonus on live casino in the app.

Where to find your bonus once you’ve claimed it

Most apps show rewards in a promotions, offers or rewards area of your account. PlayOJO’s help pages, for example, say its Rewards section shows the game, the spin value and the deadline for free spins.

Commission guidance on withdrawing your deposit (opens in a new tab) says your deposit balance and bonus balance must always be shown separately, and you can withdraw your deposit balance at any time, even while a bonus is active. If the app shows one combined figure, ask support which part is yours. Our glossary of casino app terms explains the wording you’ll see.

Using a claimed bonus without breaking the terms

Once the reward lands, the terms still apply until it is used or wagered. The common restrictions are a maximum bet (Casumo caps bets at £5 while its bonus is active), a list of eligible games, and a deadline. The Commission says terms must clearly list any banned patterns of play in advance, and operators can’t change a promotion after you’ve opted in except to prevent fraud.

Never open a second account or use someone else’s details to claim again. Our explainer on bonus abuse in casino apps covers what operators treat as irregular play, and how wagering works in casino apps explains matched bonuses.

If support can’t fix it, follow how to complain about a casino app. The last row reflects the Commission’s customer interaction rules, which stop marketing and new bonuses when strong indicators of harm appear. Other causes are listed in why a bonus was removed.

Set a deposit limit before you claim

Since 31 October 2025, UK operators must prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit, with setting one as the default. Pick a figure you could lose without it hurting, because the house edge means losses are likely over time, bonus or not.

Our guide to setting deposit limits in a casino app explains where to find the setting; under UK rules, a decrease must take effect straight away. If gambling stops feeling like entertainment, the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 is free and open 24/7.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a promo code to claim a casino app bonus?

No, none of our five UK partner apps needs a promo code for its welcome offer. Coral and Ladbrokes trigger their spins when you deposit and play £10 on slots, PlayOJO uses its designated offer link, 10bet asks you to choose the bonus at sign-up and Casumo needs an opt-in. Other brands may differ, so check the terms. The answer on welcome bonuses in casino apps has more.

Why didn’t my casino app bonus appear?

The most common reason a casino app bonus doesn’t appear is a deposit made with an excluded payment method, such as PayPal or Skrill on the Coral and Ladbrokes offers. Other causes are missing the offer link, skipping the bonus choice at sign-up, or playing games that don’t count. Contact support with the deposit time and method. See reading casino app bonus terms before you try again.

Can I claim a casino bonus with PayPal?

Usually not on our partners’ welcome offers: Coral and Ladbrokes both exclude PayPal deposits from their spins offers. You can still deposit with PayPal where the cashier offers it, but that deposit won’t trigger the reward. A debit card is the usual qualifying method, though Coral excludes certain debit cards too. Our PayPal casino apps page lists where PayPal works for payments.

Can I claim welcome bonuses at both Coral and Ladbrokes?

Possibly not, because Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited, part of Entain, and one person may not be able to hold new accounts at both. Each offer is for new customers only, and opening a second account to claim again breaks the terms. Ask support before registering if you already play at one. Compare the two in Coral vs Ladbrokes.

Do I have to verify my ID before claiming a bonus?

Yes, UK rules mean your age and identity must be verified before you can deposit or gamble, and that includes playing with a bonus or free spins. Most checks run automatically against databases when you register. If that fails, the app asks for a passport, driving licence or bill. Our guide to how casino apps verify your identity explains each step.

Can I use a casino app bonus on live casino?

Usually not: spins offers are slot offers, and matched bonuses often exclude table and live games or count them for less towards wagering. The Coral, Ladbrokes and PlayOJO welcome offers are all spins on selected slots. Always check the eligible game list in the terms before you play. Read can I use a bonus on live casino in the app for more.

Can I withdraw my deposit after claiming a bonus?

Yes, Gambling Commission guidance says you must be able to withdraw your deposit balance at any time, including while a bonus is active, and you can’t be made to meet wagering on your own money. Withdrawing may forfeit the bonus and its winnings, so check the terms first. Our guide on how to withdraw from a casino app covers the steps.

Are app-only casino bonuses real?

Some operators do run promotions only inside their app, but the welcome offers from our five partners apply to the account, not the device. If an app shows a different offer from the website, the one you opted into is what counts, and its terms must be shown clearly. Read are app-only bonuses real for what to check.
