BetMGM app review: the headline points

This BetMGM review sits within our wider set of UK casino app reviews and is built from the App Store and Google Play listings, BetMGM's UK help pages, the Gambling Commission's records and trade press.

BetMGM arrived in Britain in 2023 with the glamour of the MGM Grand behind it, yet the engine underneath is LeoVegas, the mobile casino group through which MGM owns the UK business. That shows in the app: one download for casino and sports, a proper Casino category listing on both stores, and limits for each payment method published in plain figures.

The trade-offs are practical. The iPhone app is more than twice the size of the Coral and Ladbrokes casino apps, there's no phone number for support, and the game count, studios and support hours aren't confirmed on BetMGM's own pages. Payouts are steady rather than fast.

BetMGM UK: who runs it and who owns it

BetMGM's UK terms name LeoVegas Gaming PLC as the operator, a Malta-registered company (number C59314) with its office in Sliema. It holds Gambling Commission account 39198, and the LeoVegas Gaming PLC register entry (opens in a new tab) shows its remote casino, bingo and betting licences. The register also lists betmgm.co.uk as an active domain under that account.

The owner is MGM Resorts International, through LeoVegas Group. That's an important difference from the US, where BetMGM is a joint venture between MGM and Entain, the group behind our partners Coral and Ladbrokes. The UK brand sits outside that joint venture, so a BetMGM UK account has nothing to do with your Coral or Ladbrokes account.

Trade press reported the UK launch in August 2023 on the LeoVegas platform, with a Kambi sportsbook and a national media launch planned for that September. One review site says 2024 instead, so treat 2023 as the best-supported date. The licensee also runs other LeoVegas Group brands, which matters for self-exclusion, as covered below.

BetMGM app download for iPhone, iPad and Mac

On the UK App Store, the app is BetMGM Online Casino & Sports, sold by LeoVegas Gaming p.l.c. Unlike many bookmaker apps, it's filed under Casino rather than Sports, though it covers both.

The iOS 16.4 requirement is generous. It's lower than the iOS 18 that the Coral and Ladbrokes casino apps need, so BetMGM may run on an iPhone those apps have left behind. The page on casino apps on older phones explains the security side of using an ageing handset.

Installing BetMGM on an iPhone

1. Free up at least 211.5 MB, plus room for updates, in Settings, then General, then iPhone Storage.
2. Open the App Store and search for BetMGM Online Casino & Sports.
3. Check the seller reads LeoVegas Gaming p.l.c. so you know it's the genuine UK app.
4. Tap Get, confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple ID password, and wait for the download.
5. Open the app, register or log in, and complete the age and identity checks.
6. Set your deposit limit when the app prompts you before your first deposit.

BetMGM Android app on Google Play

Android users get the same product through Google Play, where it's also called BetMGM Online Casino & Sports. The developer is LeoVegas Gaming PLC, the category is Casino, and it carries a PEGI 18 rating for real gambling. That's a cleaner picture than some bookmakers, whose Android apps are APK downloads only.

1. Open Google Play on your phone and search for BetMGM Online Casino & Sports.
2. Check the developer is LeoVegas Gaming PLC and the rating is PEGI 18.
3. Tap Install and let Google Play Protect scan the app.
4. Open BetMGM and sign in or create an account.

Is the BetMGM app worth 211.5 MB of storage?

Size is the BetMGM app's most obvious drawback. At 211.5 MB on iPhone, it's roughly eight times the PlayOJO app and about double the Coral and Ladbrokes casino apps. Part of that is the sportsbook packed in alongside the casino.

BetMGM casino games: MGM Millions, Golden Wheel and live tables

The App Store listing confirms two BetMGM features by name: the MGM Millions progressive jackpot and a daily Golden Wheel that costs nothing to spin. Beyond that, the operator doesn't publish a game count or list of studios on the pages available, so the rest comes from a third-party review and should be checked in the app.

• Live studios reported: Evolution, Ezugi, OnAir, Playtech Live, Pragmatic Play Live and Stakelogic Live.

What a live roulette session costs on average

Single-zero roulette has 37 pockets and pays even-money and straight-up bets as if there were 36, giving a house edge of 1/37, or about 2.70%. If you bet £2 a spin for 40 spins, you stake £80, so the average cost is about £2.16. A slot at 96% RTP played at £1 a spin for 600 spins stakes £600 and costs about £24 on average. No betting pattern changes those edges.

BetMGM casino welcome offer at the time of checking

At the time of checking (25 October 2026), BetMGM's welcome offer was 200 free spins on Big Bass Splash when you join, deposit £10 and play £10 on eligible casino games. It's for new customers aged 18+ who opt in, one claim only, and terms apply.

• Minimum deposit £10, then wager £10 on eligible games within 7 days.
• Slots, instant games and Slingo count 100%; live casino and table games count 0%.
• 200 spins at 10p each, worth £20, on Big Bass Splash only.
• No wagering on spin winnings; spins expire 3 days after they're credited.
• The offer page is inconsistent on whether the 7 days run from registration or from deposit.

Big Bass Splash's RTP comes from our Big Bass Splash slot review, and some casinos run lower versions, so check the game's info screen. Note the short 3-day spin expiry, which is tighter than most offers.

BetMGM payment methods and limits

BetMGM's help centre lists four ways to pay, each with its own minimum and maximum. The minimum is 10 for every method; the page lists it without a currency, but on a UK account that means £10.

Having both PayPal and Apple Pay is useful on a phone, as you can deposit without typing card details. Google Pay isn't on the published list. Credit cards can't be used at any UK casino, and that includes e-wallets loaded with a credit card.

How BetMGM withdrawals work and how long they take

BetMGM says that once a withdrawal is approved, funds typically arrive in 1–3 business days. If nothing has arrived after 3 working days, its help page asks you to contact support. A closed-loop policy applies, which means money usually goes back to the method you deposited with.

1. Complete identity verification before you request your first payout.
2. Open the cashier and choose to withdraw.
3. Pick the method you used to deposit, as the closed-loop policy requires.
4. Enter an amount between £10 and that method's maximum.
5. Wait for approval, then allow 1–3 business days for the money to arrive.

BetMGM says it doesn't charge withdrawal fees, though your bank or payment provider may charge its own. That's slower than partners such as Coral and Ladbrokes, whose Visa Fast Funds payouts typically reach the bank within about 4 hours of approval. BetMGM customer support: chat, email and callbacks

BetMGM's contact page lists three routes: live chat through the Support menu, email to support@betmgm.co.uk, and a callback request when you're logged in. Callbacks need 24 hours' notice, and there's no phone number to call directly.

BetMGM safer gambling tools

This is where BetMGM stands out. Its safer-gambling page lists eight tools, more than many rivals publish, and they cover money, time and stakes.

That last point matters: self-excluding at BetMGM also blocks you from the other LeoVegas Group brands. Is BetMGM safe and legit? Licence and record

BetMGM is legitimate: it's run by a Gambling Commission licensee, betmgm.co.uk is listed as an active domain on the register, and both app stores carry the app under that licensee's name.

The licensee does have a history. On 3 August 2022 the Commission fined LeoVegas Gaming PLC £1.32 million, with an official warning and an audit, for social responsibility and anti-money laundering failures, including review thresholds set too high and not acting on signs of harm. That was a year before BetMGM UK launched, when the company ran brands such as leovegas.com, pinkcasino.co.uk and 21.co.uk.

Alternatives to BetMGM with a welcome offer
