Real money casino apps UK

The best real money casino apps UK players can download right now are Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet, in that order. All five are licensed by the Gambling Commission. Below we compare what each app needs on your phone, how fast it pays out, what it charges and what its welcome offer is really worth in pounds.

Key takeaways

  • Only download a real money casino app whose licence holder you can find on the Gambling Commission's public register.
  • Coral and Ladbrokes run on the same Entain platform with no withdrawal fees; PlayOJO has the smallest app at 25.4 MB.
  • Casumo and 10bet are combined casino and sportsbook apps on iPhone; the other three are casino-only.
  • Spin offers are worth pennies per spin: 100 spins at 10p is £10 of stake value, not £10 of cash.
  • Every game has a house edge, so treat deposits as the cost of entertainment and set a limit before you start.

How we ranked these real money casino apps

A real money casino app has one job: let you stake and withdraw pounds safely, from a phone, under UK rules. So our order rewards the things you can check before you sign up, not hype. Every figure below comes from the app store listings, the operators' help pages or the Gambling Commission's public register (opens in a new tab).

We weighed six things, roughly in this order of importance:

  1. Licence and owner. Who holds the UK licence, and is the account active on the register?
  2. The app itself. Is it a dedicated casino app or a sportsbook with a casino tab, which iOS version does it need, and how big is it?
  3. Getting paid. Published withdrawal times, fees and the minimum you can take out.
  4. Payment choice. Debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and pay by bank, as listed by the operator.
  5. Help when things go wrong. Live chat, email and phone, with published hours.
  6. The welcome offer. What it is worth in pounds after the terms, not the headline.

We also give each partner an editorial app score out of 5. These scores summarise published facts; they are not test results. You can read more in how we review casino apps and the wider best casino apps rankings.

The best real money casino apps in the UK, ranked

1. Coral Casino: the most complete standalone app (4.3/5)

The Coral Casino app is listed as "Coral Casino: Slots & Games" on the App Store, published by Entain and separate from the Coral sportsbook app. It needs iOS 18.0 or later and takes 101.6 MB. The licence holder is LC International Limited, account 54743, which has held a remote casino licence since 1 July 2019.

Coral leads because the money side is clear. Its help pages say it charges no withdrawal fees, and Visa Fast Funds payouts are typically approved within a couple of hours and then reach the bank in up to 4 hours. Deposit options include debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, pay by bank and paysafecard. The weak spot: no phone line is published, and the iOS 18 requirement rules out older iPhones.

2. Ladbrokes Casino: the biggest spin offer (4.2/5)

The Ladbrokes Casino app shares Coral's owner and licence, so payments, fees and withdrawal rules are the same. On iPhone it is "Ladbrokes Casino Games & Slots" (101.2 MB, iOS 18.0 or later); on Android the words are swapped to "Slots & Games". The store listing mentions 1,800+ slots, live casino with game shows and LadBucks rewards.

Its welcome offer has the largest spin count of our five partners: up to 500 spins at 10p across ten days. Because Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited, you may not be able to open new accounts at both, so pick the one whose app suits you.

3. PlayOJO: the lightest app and the plainest offer (4.2/5)

The PlayOJO app is casino-only, published by Skill On Net Ltd (account 39326), and is just 25.4 MB on iPhone with iOS 15.0 or later. That makes it the easiest of the five to fit on an older or nearly full phone. PlayOJO's help page says most payments are processed within a few hours and that you can withdraw as little as you want.

OJOplus pays money back on every game played, and the welcome spins carry no wagering. On the downside, there is no phone support listed, live chat needs a login, and the iOS listing says the app may use your location even when it is not open.

4. Casumo: the slickest phone features (4.2/5)

The Casumo app on iPhone is "Casumo Casino & Sports Betting", one combined app at 52.5 MB that runs on iOS 15.0 or later. Its listing is the only one of the five that names Face ID and Touch ID login, a Quick Launch for your last four slots, Quick Deposit with Apple Pay and a home screen widget.

Casumo says e-wallet, PayPal and Apple Pay withdrawals arrive instantly after approval, with cards taking up to 2 days and bank transfers up to 5. Two catches: a £3 fee on withdrawals below £10, and support hours of 7:00 to 23:00 rather than round the clock.

5. 10bet: best for phone support, weakest as a casino app (3.8/5)

The 10bet app is a sportsbook first. On the App Store it sits in the Sports category as "10bet: Sports Betting & Casino" (112.3 MB, iOS 16.0 or later). The casino lives inside it, so you download the betting features too.

Where 10bet stands out is help: it publishes a UK phone number, 0808 175 0550, open 08:00 to 23:00 daily. Its help centre gives withdrawal times of up to 2 business days for cards and e-wallets and up to 3 for bank transfers, but no fee policy is published.

This is the table to check before you tap "Get". The iOS version matters most: an iPhone that cannot update to iOS 18 cannot install Coral or Ladbrokes, though their mobile sites still work in the browser. See which iOS version casino apps need if you are unsure.

All five carry an 18+ age rating on the App Store and PEGI 18 on Google Play. Our guides to downloading on iPhone and installing on Android walk through each step.

Real money withdrawals: times, fees and minimums

The real test of a real money app is how it pays you back. Every operator first runs its own approval step, then the payment method adds its own time. The figures below are what each operator publishes; anything blank is not published.

Published withdrawal times and fees
AppFastest published routeSlower routesFeesMinimum withdrawal
CoralVisa Fast Funds: approval usually a couple of hours, then up to 4 hoursFast Bank Transfer 2–4 business daysNone£5 (Fast Bank Transfer, Google Pay)
LadbrokesVisa Fast Funds: approval usually a couple of hours, then up to 4 hoursFast Bank Transfer 2–4 business daysNone£5 (Fast Bank Transfer, Google Pay)

Two rules apply everywhere. Withdrawals usually go back to the method you deposited with, and your identity must be verified first. Coral's and Ladbrokes' help pages also limit UK customers to three active payment methods in a rolling 30 days. What each welcome offer is worth in pounds

Headlines count spins or percentages; your bank balance counts pounds. Here is the plain arithmetic for each partner offer. All are for new customers aged 18+, and terms apply.

Welcome offers converted to pounds
AppYou doYou getFace valueWagering
CoralDeposit and bet £10 on slots100 spins at 10p on selected games£10None on spin winnings
LadbrokesDeposit and spend £10 on slots50 spins a day for 10 days at 10p (max 500)Up to £50None
PlayOJOFirst deposit of £10 or more80 spins at 10p on Big Bass Bonanza£8None
CasumoFirst deposit of £20 or more50% bonus up to £100£10 to £10010x the bonus in 7 days
10betFirst deposit within 7 days of sign-up100% bonus up to £25Up to £2510x the bonus on slots in 3 days

Face value is not cash. Spins on a slot return on average its RTP: 80 spins of 10p on Big Bass Bonanza, which has a published RTP of 96.71%, would be expected to return about £7.74 over the long run, though any single batch can return much more or nothing.

Deposit bonuses work differently. To release Casumo's full £100 bonus you deposit £200 and must wager £1,000 (10 × £100) within 7 days, at no more than £5 a bet. On a slot with a 4% house edge, that wagering has an expected cost of about £40. 10bet's £25 bonus needs £250 of slot wagering in 3 days, an expected cost of about £10 at the same edge, and bonus winnings are capped at £1,000. Our wagering explainer shows the method in detail.

Spin offers and deposit bonuses are slot offers. Blackjack, roulette and live tables are often excluded or count for less, so check the terms before you play them with bonus funds.

Are real money casino apps safe and legal in the UK?

Yes, if the operator holds a Gambling Commission licence. Apple's App Store rules require real money gaming apps to be licensed where they are used, geo-restricted to those places and free to download, and Google Play has matching rules. Our guide on how casino apps are licensed in the UK explains the system.

Licence holders and regulatory history
AppLicence holderUKGC accountPublished regulatory action
CoralLC International Limited54743Entain settlement of £17m, August 2022
LadbrokesLC International Limited54743Same Entain settlement
PlayOJOSkill On Net Limited39326£305,150 settlement, May 2023
CasumoRecro Limited61549None in the facts we hold
10betBlue Star Planet Limited43173£620,000 settlement, February 2023

A past penalty does not make an app unsafe today, but it is part of an honest picture. The Commission's notice on the Entain £17 million settlement (opens in a new tab) covered social responsibility and anti-money-laundering failures at the group behind Coral and Ladbrokes.

UK rules also protect you inside the app. You must pass age and identity checks before you can deposit, credit cards have been banned for gambling since 14 April 2020, and since 31 October 2025 apps must prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit. Read more on identity checks and the credit card ban.

How to start with a real money casino app

The process is similar across all five apps. Exact menu names vary, so look for the matching option rather than a specific button.

  1. Check the operator's name and licence number on the Gambling Commission's public register.
  2. Install the app from the App Store or Google Play only; avoid APK files sent by links.
  3. Register with your real name, date of birth and address so the age and identity checks can match your records.
  4. Set a deposit limit when the app prompts you, before your first deposit.
  5. Opt in to the welcome offer if you want it, and read which payment methods are excluded.
  6. Make your first deposit with a debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or another listed method.
  7. Upload any documents the app asks for early, so a later withdrawal is not held up.

If a step fails, our guides on verification problems and declined payments cover the common causes.

Other UK real money apps worth knowing

These apps are licensed in Great Britain but are not ranked here, because we only rank apps we can describe from a full set of published facts. They are listed in no particular order.

  • Sky Vegas: a standalone casino app (155.7 MB, iOS 15.0 or later) from Flutter's Sky Betting & Gaming, licensed through Bonne Terre Gaming Limited.
  • Betway: a standalone casino app at 63 MB that needs iOS 15.1 or later, with sports in a separate app.
  • Virgin Games: a slots-led casino app (95.4 MB, iOS 16.0 or later) run by Gamesys Operations Limited.
  • BetMGM: one combined casino and sports app, and at 211.5 MB the largest download in this list.
  • bet365: casino games sit inside its main sports app rather than a separate UK casino app.

If you are weighing two apps directly, our Coral vs Ladbrokes comparison and PlayOJO vs Casumo comparison go deeper.

Red flags in real money casino apps

  • No licence you can find. Unlicensed apps offer no UK protection if a payout is refused. See how to spot an unlicensed casino app.
  • A download outside the stores. An APK sent through a social media link can be a fake. Apple and Google both vet gambling developers.
  • Wagering above 10x. Since 19 January 2026 UK bonus wagering cannot be more than 10 times the bonus.
  • Promises of profit. No app, system or pattern beats the house edge. Apps do not lower RTP by default either: check each game's help screen for its figure.
  • Pressure to deposit. Countdown banners and constant push messages are a reason to switch notifications off, not to play.

Using a real money app within your limits

Every casino game is built with a house edge, so over time you should expect to lose some of what you stake. Decide what a session is worth to you as entertainment, set that as a deposit limit, and stop when it is gone.

All five apps offer deposit limits and time-outs, and PlayOJO's listing names tools such as Safe Mate and Take A Break. Since 17 January 2025 apps must also show your net spend and time spent while you play. For more control, GAMSTOP (opens in a new tab) blocks you from every UK-licensed site at once, and our safer gambling hub lists free help, including the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best real money casino app in the UK?

Coral Casino is our top pick for most people, scoring 4.3 out of 5. It is a dedicated casino app from a long-licensed operator, publishes fast Visa Fast Funds payouts and charges no withdrawal fees. It does need iOS 18.0 or later, so if your iPhone is older, PlayOJO (iOS 15.0) is the better fit. Compare more options on our best casino apps page or read the full Coral app review.

Can you win real money on casino apps?

Yes, winnings from a licensed UK casino app are real money and can be withdrawn to your own payment method. That said, every game has a house edge, so over time the app expects to keep part of what you stake. Wins happen, but losses are the more likely result across many sessions, which is why a budget matters. Our answer to can you win real money on casino apps explains the maths.

Which real money casino app pays out fastest?

On published figures, Casumo and Coral or Ladbrokes are quickest. Casumo says PayPal, Apple Pay and e-wallet withdrawals are instant once approved, and its policy allows up to 3 days for that approval. Coral and Ladbrokes say Visa Fast Funds payouts are usually approved within a couple of hours, then reach the bank in up to 4 hours. See which casino app pays out fastest for the detail.

Are real money casino apps legal in the UK?

Yes. Real money casino apps are legal in Great Britain when the operator holds a Gambling Commission licence, and both Apple and Google require that licence before they list a gambling app. Northern Ireland sits outside the Gambling Act 2005, which is why some offers, such as PlayOJO's, exclude it. Our page on whether casino apps are legal in the UK covers the rules.

Do I need to pay to download a real money casino app?

No. Apple's App Store rules say real money gaming apps must be free to download, and Google Play has the same requirement. Apps also cannot sell gambling credit through in-app purchases; deposits go through the casino's own cashier using a debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or another listed method. More on this in are casino apps free to download.

What is the minimum deposit on these apps?

It varies. Coral and Ladbrokes publish a £5 minimum for Google Pay and pay by bank, and show other minimums in the cashier. Casumo states £10 for all methods, although its welcome bonus needs £20. PlayOJO and 10bet do not publish a general figure. Remember that welcome offers often need a higher first deposit than the minimum. See our minimum deposits guide for more.

Can I use a credit card on a real money casino app?

No. Credit cards have been banned for gambling in Great Britain since 14 April 2020, and that includes topping up an e-wallet with a credit card and then depositing. Use a debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay linked to a debit card, PayPal or pay by bank instead. Our page on the credit card ban explains what counts.

Is a casino app better than the mobile website?

Not always. The apps add conveniences such as Face ID login on Casumo or a home screen icon, but the games and account are the same, and you need enough storage and a recent iOS version. If your iPhone cannot run iOS 18, Coral's and Ladbrokes' sites still work in the browser. Read casino app vs mobile site to weigh it up.

Do real money casino app winnings get taxed?

No. Gambling winnings are not taxed for UK players, so a £200 withdrawal arrives as £200, less any fee the operator charges. Casumo, for example, charges £3 on withdrawals under £10, while Coral and Ladbrokes charge nothing. The tax that does apply is remote gaming duty, which operators pay, and it rose from 21% to 40% on 1 April 2026. See remote gaming duty for more.
