Entain: meaning for casino app players
Entain is the gambling group that owns Coral, Ladbrokes, Gala and PartyCasino, among other brands. Entain meaning in UK gambling
Entain is a group, not a single casino. It owns the companies and brands, while a licensed subsidiary actually provides gambling to UK customers. When people search ‘is Coral owned by Entain’ or ‘who owns Ladbrokes’, the answer is yes on both counts: the two brands sit in the same group and under the same licence.
That three-layer structure of owner group, licensed operator and brand appears throughout our casino app glossary. For Entain, it looks like this.
| Layer | Who | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Owner group | Entain plc | Owns the business; its name appears on some app listings |
| Licensee (operator) | LC International Limited, UKGC account 54743, Gibraltar | Holds the licence, runs your account and handles complaints |
| Brands (trading names) | Coral, Ladbrokes, Gala Casino, Gala Bingo, Foxy Bingo, bwin, PartyCasino | The names and apps you see |
You can confirm the brand list yourself on the Commission’s LC International Limited trading names (opens in a new tab) page.
Entain casino apps on iPhone and Android
Entain’s casino apps are standalone: the casino apps for Coral and Ladbrokes are separate from those brands’ sportsbook apps. The publisher name varies by store, which can be confusing when you’re checking whether an app is genuine.
You can see the Coral listing on the Coral Casino App Store page (opens in a new tab), and the licence itself on the Commission’s register entry for LC International Limited (opens in a new tab), which shows a remote casino licence active since 1 July 2019.
| App | iPhone seller | Requires | Size | Google Play developer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coral Casino: Slots & Games | Entain (copyright LC International Limited) | iOS 18.0 or later | 101.6 MB | LC International Limited |
| Ladbrokes Casino Games & Slots | Entain | iOS 18.0 or later | 101.2 MB | Ladbrokes Mobile Development |
| PartyCasino: Real Money Casino | ElectraWorks Limited | iOS 18.0 or later | 107.3 MB | ElectraWorks Limited |
| Gala - Bingo & Slot Games | Gala (Gala Interactive (Gibraltar) Limited) | iOS 18.0 or later | 99.7 MB | Not confirmed |
The Gibraltar regulator’s Entain brand registry names ElectraWorks Limited as the Entain company that publishes PartyCasino’s apps, and the Gala app names Gala Interactive (Gibraltar) Limited. Either way, the UK licence holder for all of these brands is LC International Limited. Our reviews of the Coral app, Ladbrokes app, PartyCasino and Gala Casino cover each one in full, and the Coral iPhone app page goes into the listing details.
The Coral and Ladbrokes casino apps share a version requirement of iOS 18.0 or later, so an older iPhone that can’t update to iOS 18 won’t install them. Our guide to which iOS version casino apps need explains how to check.
What one Entain licence means for your accounts
Because the brands share an operator, they share some consequences.
- New accounts: one person may not be able to open new accounts at both Coral and Ladbrokes; see why you can’t open accounts at Coral and Ladbrokes.
- Payments: the Coral and Ladbrokes help centres publish the same rules, including a £2,000 maximum per deposit in the UK, up to 3 active payment methods in a rolling 30 days, and no withdrawal fees.
- Complaints: your complaint and any ADR case are against LC International Limited, whichever brand you used.
- Enforcement: a penalty against the licensee covers every brand on the licence.
Our Coral vs Ladbrokes comparison sets out where the two apps still differ despite sharing a company, such as Coral Coins and Smart Rewards on Coral, and LadBucks on Ladbrokes.
Entain’s UK regulatory record
In August 2022 the Gambling Commission announced that Entain would pay £17m for social responsibility and anti-money-laundering failures between December 2019 and October 2020. Of that, LC International Limited paid £14m: £13,455,952 in lieu of a financial penalty plus £544,048.03 divested. The remaining £3m was against Ladbrokes Betting & Gaming Ltd.
The Commission’s Entain announcement (opens in a new tab) sets out the failures. Note that the summary page for account 54743 on the register showed no regulatory actions when checked, even though a separate regulatory action entry records this case, so don’t rely on a zero count alone.
The action applied across the whole licence, so it covers every brand on it, not just the ones named in the press. Our pages on customer interaction rules and the LCCP explain the duties involved.
Entain and BetMGM: a common mix-up
Entain is a partner in BetMGM’s joint venture in the United States, which leads some people to assume it runs BetMGM in the UK. It doesn’t. The UK BetMGM app is published by LeoVegas Gaming p.l.c., part of MGM Resorts, and sits outside that US joint venture. Our BetMGM app review has the details.
How to check an app is a real Entain app
- In the App Store, check that the seller is Entain, or the Entain company named for that brand, such as ElectraWorks Limited for PartyCasino.
- On Google Play, check the developer name, such as LC International Limited for Coral.
- Look for the 18+ age rating on iPhone, or PEGI 18 on Google Play.
- Open the app’s terms and find LC International Limited and account 54743.
- Search the Commission’s register for 54743 and confirm the brand is listed as an active trading name.

Entain’s Coral and Ladbrokes offers, plus PlayOJO
Two of our partner offers come from Entain brands, and the third is from PlayOJO, which is not part of Entain. Each is for new customers aged 18+; terms apply, and all three are for slots.
- Coral (Entain): running from 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027. Make a qualifying deposit and bet £10+ on slots to receive 100 free spins on selected games at 10p each. Accept within 48 hours, use within 7 days; no wagering on spin winnings. Deposits by Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid card or certain debit cards don’t count towards it.
- Ladbrokes (Entain): deposit and spend £10 or more on slots for 50 free spins a day across your first 10 days, a maximum of 500 at 10p. Claim each day before 23:59; spins last 7 days; no wagering. Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers are excluded.
- PlayOJO (Skill On Net Limited): 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p after a first deposit of £10 or more; no wagering and winnings paid in cash. New UK customers only, excluding Northern Ireland; designated offer link only; can’t be combined.
Because Coral and Ladbrokes share LC International Limited as operator, you may only be able to take one of those two offers. The house edge applies to every spin, so treat any offer as entertainment, not income.

Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open another; check the terms first.

Frequently asked questions
What is Entain?
Entain is a gambling group that owns well-known brands including Coral, Ladbrokes, Gala, Foxy Bingo, bwin and PartyCasino. In Great Britain its online gambling brands run under LC International Limited, which holds Gambling Commission account 54743. The group is the owner; the licensee is the company that runs your account. Our operator entry explains the difference between the two.
Is Coral owned by Entain?
Yes, Coral is an Entain brand. Its online casino is run by LC International Limited, Entain’s UK online licensee, and the Coral Casino iPhone app lists Entain as the seller with LC International Limited in the copyright line. The same company runs Ladbrokes, so the two share rules on payments and complaints. Our Coral app review covers the app in full.
Are Coral and Ladbrokes the same company?
They are separate brands run by the same company. Both are Entain brands operated by LC International Limited under account 54743, and both casino apps list Entain as the iPhone seller. That shared operator is why one person may not be able to open new accounts at both. Our question on the difference between Coral and Ladbrokes apps covers what does differ.
Has Entain been fined by the Gambling Commission?
Yes, in August 2022 Entain agreed to pay £17m for social responsibility and anti-money-laundering failures between December 2019 and October 2020. LC International Limited’s share was £14m, including £544,048.03 divested, and Ladbrokes Betting & Gaming Ltd paid £3m. The action covered the whole licence. Our Ladbrokes app safety page puts it in context.
Does Entain run BetMGM in the UK?
No, the UK BetMGM app is run by LeoVegas Gaming p.l.c., part of MGM Resorts. Entain is a partner in BetMGM’s US joint venture, but the UK brand sits outside that arrangement. So a BetMGM account in Britain has nothing to do with LC International Limited or Entain’s UK brands. Our BetMGM app review explains who runs it.
Who publishes the PartyCasino and Gala apps?
The publisher names differ from the licensee. PartyCasino’s apps list ElectraWorks Limited, which the Gibraltar regulator records as an Entain company, and the Gala Bingo app shows Gala Interactive (Gibraltar) Limited as provider. The UK licence for both brands is held by LC International Limited. Our PartyCasino app review explains the mismatch and how to check it.
