Which iPhones can run the Virgin Games app?
Its minimum is iOS 16.0. That's a lower bar than many casino apps updated in 2026: the Coral and Ladbrokes casino apps both need iOS 18.0. In practice, an iPhone that has stopped receiving the newest iOS releases may still run Virgin Games when it can't run those two.
To see your version, open Settings, then General, then About, and read the iOS Version line. If your phone is below iOS 16, the App Store won't install the app, and the mobile website is the alternative. The trade-offs are explained in casino apps on older phones, and which iOS version casino apps need compares requirements across brands.
| App | Requires | Size | Mac |
|---|---|---|---|
| Virgin Games: Real Money Slots | iOS 16.0 or later | 95.4 MB | Not listed |
| Coral Casino: Slots & Games | iOS 18.0 or later | 101.6 MB | Apple M1 or later (designed for iPad) |
| Ladbrokes Casino Games & Slots | iOS 18.0 or later | 101.2 MB | Apple M1 or later (designed for iPad) |
At 95.4 MB, Virgin Games is also slightly smaller than both. The gap is small, though, and every casino app stores extra game data once you start playing, so check how much storage casino apps take before assuming a tight phone will cope.
A casino-only app, not a sportsbook wrapper
Virgin Games is a standalone casino app. The App Store description covers slots, live dealer tables and Slingo, and doesn't mention sports betting, so you won't be scrolling past football markets to reach a game. That suits players who only want casino content on their phone; see our list of standalone casino apps.
On its website, Virgin Games groups its range into slots, jackpots (including its own optional Jackpot Blast feature), live casino, table games such as blackjack, roulette, baccarat and craps, first-person games including Dream Catcher and Mega Ball, Slingo and bingo. It names Evolution, Pragmatic and Playtech among its studios. The site links to online bingo, but no separate Virgin bingo app was confirmed.
The operator's own pages disagree on game count, describing 'thousands' of games in one place and 'over 500 titles' in another, so we don't quote a number. Check the lobby in the app for the current range.
Who publishes the Virgin Games iPhone app
The listing names Gamesys Limited as the seller. The British licence is held by a sister company, Gamesys Operations Limited, Gambling Commission account 38905, based in Gibraltar. Virgin Games' terms name that company, and say the Virgin name and logo are trademarks of Virgin Enterprises Limited used under licence. In other words, Virgin lends the brand and Gamesys runs the casino.
The Commission's register entry for Gamesys Operations (opens in a new tab) shows active remote licences for casino and bingo from 1 November 2014, plus betting. Virgin Games' website appears there as a white label domain, a term explained in our glossary entry on white label casinos.
Ownership has changed hands several times. Gamesys bought Virgin Games in January 2013, Bally's completed its takeover of Gamesys on 1 October 2021, and Intralot completed its acquisition of Bally's International Interactive, formerly Gamesys Group, on 9 October 2025. No source we found names Virgin Games specifically in that last deal.
The Virgin Games app privacy label
Apple shows each app's data practices under App Privacy, split into data used to track you, data linked to you and data not linked to you. This app's label wasn't captured in our research, so read it on the listing before installing; our guide on how to read a casino app privacy label explains each category.
As a benchmark, the Coral casino app declares User Content and Usage Data as used to track you, while Ladbrokes shows no tracking category. Every licensed casino will link contact, identity and financial details to you, because the law requires age, identity and payment checks. The tracking heading is the one that differs most between apps, and the one worth reading closely. Our explainer on casino app cookies and tracking goes further.
How to download the Virgin Games app on iPhone
- Check your Apple Account region is the United Kingdom, since real-money apps are restricted by location.
- Confirm your iPhone runs iOS 16.0 or later in Settings > General > About.
- Open the App Store and search for Virgin Games.
- Choose the listing called Virgin Games: Real Money Slots and check the seller says Gamesys Limited and the rating says 18+.
- Make sure you have comfortably more than 95.4 MB free.
- Tap Get and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your password.
- Open the app, then register or sign in and complete the age and identity checks before depositing.
Apple requires real-money gambling apps to be licensed where they operate, geo-restricted and free on the App Store, under Apple's App Review Guidelines (opens in a new tab). A listing that charges to download or sells chips through Apple billing isn't genuine. Common install errors are covered in download a casino app on iPhone.
Virgin Games on iPad and Apple Vision Pro
The same app installs on iPad running iPadOS 16.0 or later and on Apple Vision with visionOS 1.0 or later. There's no Mac version listed, so on a Mac you'd use the website in a browser. If you play on a tablet, our guide to casino apps on iPad covers layout and orientation, and our page on Apple Vision Pro explains how iPad apps behave on the headset.
Apple Pay deposits and withdrawals in the Virgin Games app
Apple Pay is one of the more useful features for iPhone players here, because Virgin Games lists it for both deposits and withdrawals. Its help pages also list Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Mastercard and Google Pay for deposits, with a £10 minimum per transaction. Read our guide to Apple Pay casino apps for how card-backed wallets work.
| Method | Limits | Published time after processing |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Pay | £10 to £25,000 | Normally clears within 24 hours |
| Visa Debit | £10 to £25,000 | Within 4 hours where Visa Direct is supported, otherwise up to 3 working days |
| Mastercard Debit | £10 to £25,000 | Up to 1 working day |
| Bank account | £10 to £250,000 | Up to 1 working day |
Virgin Games says withdrawals are processed within 4 to 24 hours before those payment times begin, and a closed-loop policy applies, so money goes back to the method you used where possible. Fees weren't stated on its pages. The Virgin Games withdrawals page covers cashing out in detail.
Safer gambling, support and the welcome offer
Virgin Games names session reminders, deposit limits and account pauses among its tools; a full list wasn't confirmed. Since 31 October 2025, every British operator must also prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit. On the phone side, Apple's Screen Time controls (opens in a new tab) can block app installs or limit use, which we explain in blocking casino apps with Screen Time. Support is by 24/7 live chat through the help centre; email and phone weren't found.
At the time of checking (25 October 2026), Virgin Games' headline welcome offer was 'Play £10, get 100 free spins on Game of Thrones'. The key terms: 18+, opt in to the spins before your first deposit (minimum £10), then wager £10 of cash on any slot; the 100 spins are worth 10p each and can only be used on Game of Thrones, winnings carry no wagering, and you have 30 days from your first deposit to qualify and then 30 days to use the spins. Terms apply. The offer page's own timing note said 30 days from registration, which conflicts with the full terms, so read the terms before opting in.
On the regulatory side, Gamesys Operations Limited faced action recorded on 22 November 2023 and announced on 10 January 2024: a £6m penalty for Gamesys (opens in a new tab), plus a warning and an extra licence condition. It covered November 2021 to July 2022, when the company did not always identify or interact with customers at risk and its anti-money-laundering checks fell short. The action applied to the licensee as a whole, which runs Virgin Games alongside other brands.

Alternatives to Virgin Games on iPhone with a welcome offer
We don't have an offer with Virgin Games, so we can't link to it. The closest partner alternatives are Coral and Ladbrokes, which are also standalone casino apps on iPhone with slot-based offers, though both need iOS 18.0 rather than iOS 16.0. Offers are for 18+ new customers and terms apply.
Coral Casino – bet £10 on slots, get 100 free spins. 18+, new players, and the offer runs from 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027. You deposit (certain types excluded) and bet £10 or more on slots; the 100 spins are worth 10p each on selected games, must be accepted within 48 hours and are valid for 7 days, and there is no wagering on free spin winnings. Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don't qualify. Terms apply.
Ladbrokes Casino – play £10 on slots, get up to 500 free spins. 18+, new customers. Deposit and spend £10 or more on slots to receive 50 free spins a day for your first 10 days (500 maximum), worth 10p each on selected games; each day's batch must be claimed before 23:59 and is valid for 7 days, with no wagering on winnings. Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers deposits don't qualify. Terms apply.
Coral and Ladbrokes share an operator, LC International Limited (Entain), so one person may not be able to open new accounts at both. Like Virgin Games' offer, these are slot spins at 10p each, and the house edge applies to every spin, so see them as extra entertainment rather than a way to make money. Compare them in Coral vs Ladbrokes, or read the Coral iPhone app and Ladbrokes iPhone app pages.

Frequently asked questions
What iOS version does the Virgin Games app need?
You need iOS 16.0 or later on iPhone, iPadOS 16.0 or later on iPad, and visionOS 1.0 or later on Apple Vision, according to the App Store listing. That's two major versions lower than the Coral and Ladbrokes casino apps, which need iOS 18.0. Check your version in Settings > General > About. Our answer to which iOS version casino apps need compares more apps.
How big is the Virgin Games iPhone app?
It's listed at 95.4 MB, slightly smaller than the Coral (101.6 MB) and Ladbrokes (101.2 MB) casino apps. Like any casino app, it may use more space after installation as it stores game files and cached data, so leave some headroom. Our guide to casino app storage space shows how to see what an app really uses and how to clear it.
Is the Virgin Games app real money?
Yes. The listed name is 'Virgin Games: Real Money Slots', it carries an 18+ rating and the Casino category, and it's run under a Gambling Commission licence held by Gamesys Operations Limited. You must verify your age and identity before depositing or playing, including any demo games. If you're comparing it with play-money apps, our guide to social casino apps vs real money apps explains the difference.
Does the Virgin Games app include sports betting?
No. The App Store description covers slots, live dealer tables and Slingo and doesn't mention sports betting, so it's a standalone casino app. That keeps it focused and avoids a sportsbook front page. If you'd like both products in one app, our list of sports and casino apps covers combined options, and remember that promotions mixing products have been banned since 19 January 2026.
Can I play Virgin Games on a Mac?
No Mac version is listed on the App Store, unlike some casino apps that run on Apple silicon Macs as iPad apps. On a Mac, you would use the Virgin Games website in a browser instead. The iPhone app does run on iPad and Apple Vision. Our answer to whether you can play casino apps on a Mac explains which apps support it and why.
Can I withdraw to Apple Pay from Virgin Games?
Yes. Virgin Games lists Apple Pay as a withdrawal method with limits of £10 to £25,000, and says Apple Pay withdrawals normally clear within 24 hours after processing, which itself takes 4 to 24 hours. A closed-loop policy applies, so money returns to the method you used. Fees weren't stated on its pages. Our answer to which casino apps accept Apple Pay compares other brands.
Does the Virgin Games app support Face ID?
Face ID sign-in wasn't mentioned in the information we reviewed for the Virgin Games app, so check the app's login or security settings after installing. Where an app does support it, it only receives a pass or fail from your iPhone; Apple says (opens in a new tab) Face ID data never leaves the device. Our guide to Face ID and Touch ID on casino apps explains how it works.
Who owns Virgin Games?
Virgin Games is run by Gamesys, which bought it in January 2013, and the British licence is held by Gamesys Operations Limited (account 38905). The Virgin name is used under licence from Virgin Enterprises. Bally's took over Gamesys in 2021, and Intralot completed its purchase of Bally's International Interactive, formerly Gamesys Group, on 9 October 2025. Our licensing guide explains how brands and licensees relate.
