Can I play casino apps on a Mac?
Can I play casino apps on a Mac? Yes, in two ways. Four of our five partner apps list Macs with an Apple M1 chip or later as compatible, running their iPad version from the Mac App Store. And on any Mac, Intel or Apple silicon, you can play on the operator’s website in Safari or another browser with the same account.
Key takeaways
- Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO and Casumo list Macs with Apple M1 or later as compatible.
- Each is marked “Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS”, meaning it is the iPad app running on a Mac.
- 10bet’s app doesn’t list Mac support, and Intel Macs can’t run these apps.
- The casino website works on every Mac and uses the same account, limits and balance.

Can you play casino apps on a Mac? Two routes
There is no dedicated macOS casino app from our partners, but that doesn’t stop Mac users. Apple lets many iPad apps run on Macs with Apple silicon, and four of our five partners allow it. The fallback, which works on every Mac, is the casino’s own website.
Both routes use the same account, so your balance, any active bonus and your safer gambling limits are identical whichever you choose. For a ranked view, see our list of casino apps for Mac, and for the wider platform picture, our Mac device guide.
Which casino apps work on a Mac
The UK App Store listings state Mac compatibility under each app’s Compatibility section. Here is what they say for our partners.
| App (as listed) | Mac support | macOS needed | Label |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coral Casino: Slots & Games | Mac with Apple M1 or later | 15.0 or later | iPad app, not verified for macOS |
| Ladbrokes Casino Games & Slots | Mac with Apple M1 or later | 15.0 or later | iPad app, not verified for macOS |
| PlayOJO Real Money Casino | Mac with Apple M1 or later | 12.0 or later | iPad app, not verified for macOS |
| Casumo Casino & Sports Betting | Mac with Apple M1 or later | 12.0 or later | iPad app, not verified for macOS |
| 10bet: Sports Betting & Casino | Not listed | Not applicable | Use the website |
You can confirm this on the Coral Casino App Store listing (opens in a new tab), the PlayOJO App Store listing (opens in a new tab) and the Casumo App Store listing (opens in a new tab). Listings can change with updates, so check before installing.
What “Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS” means
This label tells you two things. First, the app you install is the iPad app, not a version rebuilt for the Mac. Second, the developer hasn’t confirmed that it has been checked on macOS, so it may not behave exactly as it does on an iPad.
In general, iPad apps on a Mac run in a window and use the mouse or trackpad in place of touch. Some touch gestures don’t translate neatly, and window sizes can be limited. None of our partners describes a Mac-specific feature set, so expect the iPad experience, used with a pointer.
Not verified doesn’t mean unsafe. The app is the same licensed, App Store-reviewed app; the label is about how well the interface fits a Mac.
How to install a casino app on an Apple silicon Mac
The process uses the Mac App Store, and because Apple requires real-money gambling apps to be free, there is no charge to install.
- Check your Mac’s chip and macOS: open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. You need Apple M1 or later.
- Confirm the macOS version meets the app’s minimum: 15.0 for Coral and Ladbrokes, 12.0 for PlayOJO and Casumo.
- Open the App Store on your Mac and search for the app’s exact name.
- In the results, switch to the iPhone and iPad apps view if the app doesn’t appear among Mac apps.
- Check the seller (Entain for Coral and Ladbrokes, Skill On Net Ltd for PlayOJO), then click Get.
- Open the app, log in or register, and set a deposit limit before your first deposit.
If the app won’t appear, your Mac is probably Intel-based or below the macOS minimum. Our guides to downloading a casino app on iPhone and the iPad version cover the same listings from other devices.
Intel Macs and apps without Mac support
Every partner listing that supports Mac specifies Apple M1 or later, which rules out Intel-based Macs. 10bet’s combined sports and casino app doesn’t list Mac at all, on any chip.
In both cases, the website is the answer. It doesn’t depend on your chip, and you can bookmark it or keep it in the Dock. Our comparison of casino app vs desktop site sets out what you gain and lose, and the Windows device guide covers the same question for PC users.
Casino app on Mac vs playing in a browser
Which route suits you depends on your Mac and how you play. This table compares the two on the points that matter most.
| Point | iPad app on Mac | Website in a browser |
|---|---|---|
| Works on Intel Macs | No | Yes |
| Install needed | Yes, from the App Store | No |
| Interface | iPad layout in a window | Desktop layout |
| Account, balance and limits | Same as everywhere | Same as everywhere |
| Updates | Through the App Store | Automatic when the site changes |
| Apple verified for macOS | No, per the listings | Not applicable |
Most Mac users will find the website more natural because it was designed for a large screen and pointer. The app suits people who prefer the exact layout they use on an iPad. Our answer on whether it’s better to play on an app or a browser goes deeper.
UK rules apply on a Mac just as on a phone
A Mac doesn’t change the rules. You must be 18 or over and verified before depositing or playing, slots must take at least 2.5 seconds per spin with no autoplay, and slot stakes are capped at £5 a spin, or £2 if you are 18 to 24. Operators also can’t let you play several casino games at the same time, so opening extra browser tabs doesn’t get round that.
Location rules apply too: Apple’s App Review Guidelines (opens in a new tab) require real-money apps to be geo-restricted, and websites are restricted to their licensed areas. Macs have no GPS, so checks may rely on your network. Don’t use a VPN to get round them; our page on VPNs and casino apps explains why. Credit cards can’t be used to gamble in Great Britain, on any device.
Safer gambling tools for Mac users
Playing at a desk can mean longer sessions than on a phone, so it’s worth setting tools up before you start. Account limits follow you to every device; set them once, in the app or on the website.
- Set a deposit limit and a reality check at an interval that suits you.
- Take a time-out if you want a break of a day or longer.
- Gamban (opens in a new tab), a paid blocking app, says it covers Mac as well as Windows, Android and iOS from one licence.
- GAMSTOP blocks you from every GB-licensed online operator for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a casino app for Mac?
Not a Mac-specific one from our partners, but the iPad apps from Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO and Casumo can be installed on Macs with Apple M1 or later through the Mac App Store. Their listings label them “Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS”. On any other Mac, use the website. Our casino apps for Mac list compares the options and explains which suits which kind of player.
Can I play casino apps on an Intel Mac?
Not the App Store apps. Every partner listing that mentions Mac requires Apple M1 or later, so Intel Macs can’t install them. You can still play on the operator’s website in Safari, Chrome or Firefox with the same account, balance and limits. Our Mac device guide explains how to check which chip your Mac has and what each route offers.
Does the 10bet app work on a Mac?
The 10bet: Sports Betting & Casino listing on the UK App Store doesn’t include Mac in its compatibility list; it names iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision. On a Mac, use 10bet’s website instead, which works with the same account. For more on the app on Apple devices, see our 10bet iPhone app page, which covers its iOS requirement and size in detail.
Is it safe to use a casino iPad app on a Mac?
Yes, in the sense that it is the same licensed app that passed Apple’s App Store review. The “not verified for macOS” label means the developer hasn’t confirmed how well the interface works on a Mac, not that it is insecure. Keep macOS and the app updated and use a strong, unique password. Our guide to keeping your casino account secure covers the basics.
Are the games the same on a Mac as on my phone?
Generally, yes. The iPad app on a Mac shows the same lobby as on an iPad, and the website usually offers the same games, though operators can vary their line-up by platform. Game rules and odds don’t change by device; check a game’s help screen for its RTP. See are the games on casino apps the same as on desktop for a full explanation.
Can I use Apple Pay for a casino on a Mac?
Possibly, if the casino’s cashier offers Apple Pay and your Mac is set up for it. Coral and Ladbrokes list Apple Pay in their help centres, and PlayOJO names it on its help page. Debit cards and bank payments are the alternatives, and credit cards are banned for gambling in Great Britain. Read which casino apps accept Apple Pay for details of each partner.
Why can’t I find the casino app in the Mac App Store?
Usually because the search is showing Mac apps only, or your Mac doesn’t meet the requirement. Try switching the results to iPhone and iPad apps, then check that your Mac has Apple M1 or later and a recent enough macOS. Your Apple Account also needs to be set to the UK store. Our answer on why you can’t find a casino app in the App Store lists other causes.
Can I block casino sites and apps on my Mac?
Yes. Gamban, a paid app, says it blocks gambling sites and apps on Mac, Windows, Android and iOS from one licence, and GAMSTOP self-exclusion covers every GB-licensed online operator whatever device you use. Many banks can also block gambling payments. Our guide to blocking gambling apps with Gamban explains how it works alongside GAMSTOP and bank blocks.
