App store listing
An app store listing is the public page for an app in Apple's App Store or Google Play, showing its name, publisher, size, age rating, compatibility and privacy details. For a real-money casino app, it is the quickest way to check who really runs the app before you install anything.
Key takeaways
- A listing is the store page you see before you tap to install an app.
- For UK casino apps, check that the seller or developer matches a Gambling Commission licence holder.
- Size, minimum iOS version and the privacy label all come from the listing.
- Apple and Google only allow licensed, geo-restricted, free-to-download gambling apps.
- Where you see it
- Apple App Store and Google Play
- Key fields
- Name, seller, size, requirements, age rating, privacy
- Casino app age rating
- 18+ (App Store), PEGI 18 (Google Play)
- Who can publish a gambling app
- A legal entity, not an individual (Apple)
App store listing meaning in plain English
Every app sold or given away through a store has a listing: one page that describes the app and holds the install button. On an iPhone that page sits in the App Store; on most Android phones it sits in Google Play. The listing is written partly by the publisher (the description and screenshots) and partly by the store (the size, the compatibility list and the age rating).
For casino apps the listing matters more than usual. It names the company behind the app, and that name should line up with a licence holder on the Gambling Commission's public register (opens in a new tab). A mismatch is a reason to stop. Our casino app glossary covers the other terms you meet along the way.
What a casino app store listing shows
The fields are broadly similar in both stores, although Google Play shows a data safety section where Apple shows a privacy label. The table uses the iPhone listing for Coral's casino app as a real example.
| Field | What it tells you | Example (Coral, App Store) |
|---|---|---|
| App name | The exact title to search for | Coral Casino: Slots & Games |
| Seller or developer | The company that publishes the app | Entain (provider Entain Operations Limited) |
| Requires | Oldest operating system that can run it | iOS 18.0 or later |
| Size | Storage the download takes | 101.6 MB |
| Age rating | Who the app is rated for | 18+ |
| Category | Where the store files it | Casino |
| Privacy | Data the app says it collects | Location (coarse), contact info, financial info and more, linked to you |
Two fields deserve a closer look. The seller line tells you whether the app is genuinely from the operator, and the requirements line tells you whether your phone can run it at all. Our guide to which iOS version casino apps need explains what to do if yours falls short.
Five UK casino app listings side by side
Reading several listings together shows how much they vary. Some are dedicated casino apps; others fold the casino into a sportsbook. The figures below come from each app's UK App Store page.
| App | Seller on listing | Requires | Size | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coral | Entain | iOS 18.0 | 101.6 MB | Casino only |
| Ladbrokes | Entain | iOS 18.0 | 101.2 MB | Casino only |
| PlayOJO | Skill On Net Ltd | iOS 15.0 | 25.4 MB | Casino only |
| Casumo | Casumo | iOS 15.0 | 52.5 MB | Casino and sports |
| 10bet | 10bet Limited | iOS 16.0 | 112.3 MB | Sports and casino |
Listings can also differ between stores for the same brand. Ladbrokes uses "Games & Slots" on iPhone and "Slots & Games" on Android, and Casumo's Android title is casino-focused while its iPhone title includes sports betting. 10bet's iPhone app is filed under Sports rather than Casino. If storage is tight, our list of casino apps with the smallest download size uses the same size figures.
Store rules that sit behind every gambling listing
A real-money casino listing only exists because the operator has met extra conditions. Apple's App Review Guidelines (opens in a new tab) say real-money gaming apps must hold the necessary licences where they are used, must be geo-restricted to those places and must be free on the App Store. Apple also expects apps in regulated fields such as gambling to be submitted by a legal entity rather than an individual developer, and it bans in-app purchase for buying credit used in real-money gaming.
Google applies a similar test. Its real-money gambling policy (opens in a new tab) requires a valid licence for each country, blocks under-age users and anyone outside the licensed area, and says the app must be free and must not use Google Play billing. The application operators complete asks for an Adults Only rating, an 18+ notice, a responsible gambling statement and no install incentives in the listing itself. You can read more in our guides to Apple App Store rules for casino apps and Google Play rules for casino apps.
How to check a casino app store listing before installing
- Search the store for the brand and open the listing rather than tapping an advert.
- Read the seller or developer line and compare it with the company on the Gambling Commission's public register.
- Check the age rating shows 18+ (App Store) or PEGI 18 (Google Play).
- Look at the requirements line to confirm your iOS version is supported.
- Note the size and make sure you have the space free.
- Open the privacy label or data safety section and read what is collected and linked to you.
- Only then install, and set your limits before your first deposit.
What a listing can't tell you
A store page is a starting point, not a review. It won't show the welcome offer's terms, withdrawal times, phone support hours or which games sit in the lobby on the day you open it. Store descriptions can also lag behind the app; 10bet's two store descriptions give different casino game counts, for example.
Privacy summaries are written by the publisher, so treat them as the company's own statement. Our guide to reading a casino app privacy label explains the categories. For the rest, the operator help pages and our individual reviews fill the gaps.
Partner apps with clear store listings and welcome offers
All three partners shown below have UK listings in both stores, published under the licence-holding group or its app team. Each welcome offer is for 18+ new customers only and terms apply.
- Coral: deposit (some methods excluded) and bet £10 or more on slots to get 100 free spins at 10p each on selected games, accepted within 48 hours and valid for 7 days, with no wagering on free spin winnings. Runs from 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027; PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafe, prepaid and certain debit cards don't qualify.
- Ladbrokes: deposit and spend £10 or more on slots to get 50 free spins a day for 10 days (up to 500), 10p each on selected games, claimed by 23:59 each day and valid for 7 days, no wagering. PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, Neteller, Moneybookers and prepaid card deposits are excluded.
- PlayOJO: first deposit of at least £10 gets 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p each, with winnings paid as cash and no wagering. New UK customers only (not Northern Ireland), through the designated offer link, and not combinable with other offers.
At 10p a spin, those packages have a face value of £10, up to £50 and £8. Spins are for slots only, and slot play costs money over time because of the house edge.

Frequently asked questions
What is an app store listing?
An app store listing is the page for one app in Apple's App Store or Google Play. It holds the install button plus the app's name, publisher, size, compatibility, age rating and privacy details. Publishers write the description; the store adds technical fields such as size and supported devices. For casino apps, the publisher name is the field to check first, because it should match a licensed company. See our casino app glossary for related terms.
How do I know a casino app listing is genuine?
Check that the seller or developer named on the listing matches a licence holder on the Gambling Commission's public register. Coral and Ladbrokes, for example, are listed under Entain on iPhone and run by LC International Limited. Also confirm the rating is 18+ and that you reached the page by searching the store yourself. Our guide on how to spot an unlicensed casino app covers the warning signs in more detail.
Why can't I find a casino app in the store?
Usually because the store is hiding it from your location or device. Apple and Google both require gambling apps to be geo-restricted to the places where the operator is licensed, so a UK app may not appear on a store set to another country. Restrictions set through Screen Time can also block 18+ apps. Our answer to why you can't find a casino app in the App Store runs through each cause.
Does the listing show the app's size accurately?
The size on the listing is the store's figure for the download, so it's the best guide you have before installing. PlayOJO's iPhone app is listed at 25.4 MB, while 10bet's combined sports and casino app is listed at 112.3 MB. Apps can grow after installation as they store data, so leave some headroom. Our guide to casino app storage space explains how to check and free up room.
What age rating do UK casino app listings carry?
Real-money casino apps carry an 18+ rating on the App Store and PEGI 18 on Google Play. Apple's rating system lists gambling under its 18+ tier, and Google's application process for gambling apps requires an Adults Only rating and an 18+ notice. Operators must still verify your age and identity before you can deposit. Read more in what age you have to be to use casino apps.
Are casino apps free to download from the listing?
Yes, they have to be. Apple's guidelines say real-money gaming apps must be free on the App Store, and Google's policy says they must be free to download and must not use Google Play billing. Deposits go through the casino's own cashier instead, and credit cards can't be used to gamble in Great Britain. Our answer on whether casino apps are free to download explains how payments work instead.
