Best video poker apps UK
The best video poker apps UK players can pick from our partners are Casumo, 10bet and Coral, ranked on game library, payouts and support. None of their store listings names video poker, so you'll need to check each lobby, and the pay table you find there matters far more than the app. Here's how to read one and what it costs you in pounds.
Key takeaways
- Casumo ranks first for its 6,000+ game library, Face ID login and e-wallet payouts paid instantly after approval.
- None of our partners' store listings mentions video poker, so search each app's lobby before you deposit.
- The pay table sets the return: 9/6 Jacks or Better returns 99.54% with optimal play, while 8/5 returns 97.3%.
- Welcome bonuses here are slot-focused, so video poker play is often excluded or counts for less.

How we ranked the best video poker apps UK
Video poker is a game of decisions: you're dealt five cards, choose which to hold, and draw replacements. With good strategy it can carry one of the lowest house edges in a casino lobby, but only on a generous pay table. So the best app is the one that makes good tables easy to find and check, pays out cleanly and offers proper help when something goes wrong.
No partner's store listing mentions video poker, so we couldn't rank on confirmed video poker content. We ranked on the factors that are published: library size, app features, payout times, support and how the welcome offer treats non-slot games. Our best casino apps hub explains the general method.
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Game library size | A bigger lobby makes it more likely you'll find several video poker variants and pay tables |
| Pay table access | UK rules require rules and payouts to be shown before you play, but how easy they are to read varies |
| Withdrawal speed and fees | Low-edge games mean small, steady swings, so fees on small withdrawals bite |
| Support | Disputes over a hand or a disconnection need a quick human answer |
| Bonus treatment | Many offers exclude or discount non-slot games |
The best video poker apps: our ranked picks
1. Casumo: the biggest lobby and Face ID login
Casumo's UK homepage says it offers more than 6,000 games, the largest library our partners publish, which gives you the best chance of finding several video poker variants. The Casumo app on iPhone is a combined casino and sportsbook app, Casumo Casino & Sports Betting, needing iOS 15.0 or later at 52.5 MB. Its listing confirms Face ID and Touch ID login, Apple Pay with Quick Deposit and a home screen widget.
On payouts, Casumo says withdrawals are reviewed within hours and approved or denied within 3 days, after which PayPal, Apple Pay, Skrill, Neteller and MuchBetter are paid instantly, cards take up to 2 days and bank transfers up to 5. The Casumo withdrawal policy (opens in a new tab) adds a £3 fee on withdrawals under £10. The licence holder is Recro Limited, UKGC account 61549.
2. 10bet: the only partner with a published phone line
The 10bet app, 10bet: Sports Betting & Casino, is a combined sportsbook and casino app listed in the App Store's Sports category. It needs iOS 16.0 or later and is 112.3 MB. Its Google Play listing mentions 3,000+ casino games, while the iOS description says 2,000+ slots, so check the lobby for video poker.
10bet stands out on support. Its contact page lists a UK phone number, 0808 175 0550, from 08:00 to 23:00 daily, plus live chat and email. Withdrawals take up to 2 business days to debit cards and e-wallets and up to 3 for bank transfers. The licence holder is Blue Star Planet Limited, account 43173.
3. Coral: a standalone casino app with fast card payouts
The Coral Casino app is a dedicated casino app whose listing mentions blackjack, roulette, live casino and classic fruit machines, though not video poker. It needs iOS 18.0 or later at 101.6 MB. If card games are your thing, Coral is a sound all-round choice with our highest editorial score, 4.3 out of 5.
Coral's help pages say Visa Fast Funds withdrawals are usually approved within a couple of hours and then reach your bank within about four hours, with no withdrawal fees. You'll need to search the lobby to see whether video poker is offered, and our Coral games page covers what the operator publishes.

Video poker pay tables: the number that matters most
Two video poker games can look identical and still return very different amounts. The difference is in the pay table, usually shown by what a full house and a flush pay per coin. "9/6" Jacks or Better pays 9 for a full house and 6 for a flush; "8/5" pays 8 and 5.
| Game and pay table | Return | House edge |
|---|---|---|
| Jacks or Better 9/6 | 99.54% | 0.46% |
| Jacks or Better 8/5 | 97.3% | 2.7% |
| Bonus Poker 8/5 | 99.17% | 0.83% |
| Bonus Poker 7/5 | 98.01% | 1.99% |
| Double Bonus 9/7 | 99.11% | 0.89% |
| Double Double Bonus 9/6 | 98.98% | 1.02% |
| Double Double Bonus 8/5 | 96.79% | 3.21% |
| Deuces Wild "Not So Ugly Ducks" | About 99.73% | About 0.27% |
| Joker Poker (Microgaming table) | 98.60% | 1.40% |
| Joker Poker (NetEnt table) | 97.9% | 2.1% |
These figures come from Wizard of Odds' video poker summary tables (opens in a new tab) and assume optimal strategy and the maximum coin bet, because the royal flush pays 800 per coin only at max coins. Which pay tables UK apps actually run isn't published, so the in-game paytable is the only figure to trust.
Under the Commission's game information standard, rules and payouts must be available before you commit to play. Our paytable glossary entry and the video poker game guide explain how to read one quickly.
What video poker costs per hour in pounds
Expected loss is the amount staked multiplied by the house edge. UK rules require at least 5 seconds per game cycle for non-slot casino games, which caps play at 720 hands an hour (3,600 ÷ 5). The table assumes a gentler 500 hands at £1, or £500 staked.
| Game | House edge | Expected loss |
|---|---|---|
| Jacks or Better 9/6 | 0.46% | £2.30 |
| Jacks or Better 8/5 | 2.7% | £13.50 |
| Joker Poker (NetEnt table) | 2.1% | £10.50 |
| Double Double Bonus 8/5 | 3.21% | £16.05 |
| Slot at 96% RTP (for comparison) | 4% | £20.00 |
The gap between the two Jacks or Better tables is £11.20 an hour on the same game, just from one less unit on the full house and flush. That's why checking the pay table before you play matters more than which app you use. These are long-run averages: any one session can swing well above or below them, and the house still keeps its edge over time.
The house edge by game page puts video poker alongside blackjack, roulette and slots, and Wizard of Odds lists full-pay Jacks or Better at a 0.46% edge in its house edge summary (opens in a new tab).
Video poker strategy on a small screen
Strategy in video poker means choosing the best cards to hold on every hand. It reduces the house edge towards the figures above, but it doesn't remove it on the tables you're likely to meet, and no betting system changes the maths.
- Hold decisions: a strategy chart for your exact variant and pay table ranks every possible hold, and the published returns assume you follow it on every hand.
- Tap carefully: holding is done by tapping cards, so a mistaken tap costs value. Some games highlight held cards clearly; check before you draw.
- Bet size: the full return assumes maximum coins, so if the coin value makes max coins too expensive, a smaller coin value keeps the same return at a lower cost.
- Demo first: free-play versions let you practise holds, but in Great Britain even demo games need age verification.
Betting systems such as Martingale, which doubles the stake after each loss, don't change the edge. They just raise the size of your bets after losing runs, which can wipe out a budget fast and run into table limits. If you want more on card decisions, our casino poker apps page covers games like Three Card Poker.
UK rules for video poker in casino apps
Video poker uses cards rather than reels, so it generally falls under the Commission's rules for non-slot casino games rather than the slot-specific limits.
- 5-second minimum: since 17 January 2025, non-slot casino games must allow at least 5 seconds per game cycle. See our game speed rules page.
- No autoplay: autoplay has been banned for all online casino games since 17 January 2025, so every hand is dealt by you.
- One game at a time: you can't play several games at once, and your net spend and time played must be shown in real time.
- Information first: rules and paytables must be available before you commit to play, under the Commission's RTS 3 game information standard (opens in a new tab).
The £5 and £2 slot stake limits apply to reel-based slot games, so check each video poker game's own rules for its maximum bet. Before your first deposit, the app must prompt you to set a financial limit, which has been required since 31 October 2025.
Video poker and casino app welcome bonuses
Welcome bonuses in UK apps are built around slots, and video poker is often excluded or counts for less towards wagering. Since 19 January 2026, wagering can't exceed 10 times the bonus, which our wagering cap explainer covers.
With Casumo, a £20 deposit gets a £10 bonus, which you'd wager 10x (£100) within 7 days at no more than £5 per bet, and game restrictions apply. With 10bet, a £25 deposit gets a £25 bonus, wagered 10x (£250) on slots within 3 days, so video poker hands won't clear it. Read the game rules in each offer's terms before you assume video poker counts. Our guide to reading casino app bonus terms shows where those lists sit.
Other UK apps with video poker
Two UK-licensed brands outside our partners are described as offering video poker. They aren't ranked because we have no offers with them.
- Betway: its store listings include video poker among the game types. The iPhone app, Betway - Online Casino & Slots, is a standalone casino app needing iOS 15.1 or later at 63 MB, run by Betway Limited (account 39372).
- BetVictor: third-party reviews list video poker among its games. Its app, BetVictor Sports Bets & Casino, is a combined sports and casino app needing iOS 16.0 or later at 143.4 MB, run by BV Gaming Limited (account 39576).
As with our partners, confirm the variant and pay table in the lobby before you play.
How to check a video poker game in an app
- Search the app's casino lobby for "video poker" or a variant name such as Jacks or Better or Deuces Wild.
- Open the game and find the paytable, usually shown on screen or behind an info icon.
- Read the full house and flush payouts per coin and compare them with the table above, for example 9/6 or 8/5 for Jacks or Better.
- Check the RTP in the game's help screen and whether it assumes optimal strategy.
- Choose a coin value that lets you bet maximum coins within your budget.
- Set a deposit limit and decide in advance when your session ends.
Video poker myths and mistakes to avoid
- "The machine is due a royal." Each hand is dealt by a random number generator, and past hands don't affect the next one.
- "Apps pay less than desktop." Apps don't have lower RTP by default, but operators can choose different pay tables. Check the paytable in the game you're playing.
- Ignoring the pay table: the same game on an 8/5 table costs several times more per hour than on 9/6.
- Betting systems: doubling after a loss doesn't change the edge and speeds up losses.
If video poker stops being fun, the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 is free, confidential and open 24/7, and our help and support page lists GamCare, GAMSTOP and NHS services.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best video poker app in the UK?
Casumo is our top video poker app pick because it publishes the largest game library of our partners, 6,000+ games, plus Face ID login and instant e-wallet payouts after approval. 10bet is second for its UK phone support, and Coral third. None of the three store listings names video poker, so check the lobby. See the Casumo app review for its payments and support.
What video poker game has the best odds?
Among common games, 9/6 Jacks or Better is one of the best, returning 99.54% with optimal strategy, a 0.46% house edge. 8/5 Bonus Poker returns 99.17% and 9/7 Double Bonus 99.11%. These need the exact pay table and perfect holds, and UK apps don't publish which tables they run. Our video poker game guide explains how to spot each table.
What does 9/6 mean in video poker?
9/6 describes the pay table: a full house pays 9 coins and a flush pays 6 coins per coin bet. In Jacks or Better, 9/6 returns 99.54% with optimal strategy, while 8/5, which pays 8 and 5, returns 97.3%. On £500 staked, that difference is about £11.20 in expected loss. Our paytable glossary entry explains the other lines on a pay table.
Is video poker better than slots on a casino app?
On a good pay table, video poker has a much lower house edge than most slots: 0.46% on 9/6 Jacks or Better against roughly 4% on a 96% slot. That only holds with near-optimal strategy, and a poor table narrows the gap. Both still cost money over time. Our best slot apps page covers slots if you'd rather spin than draw.
Can I use a welcome bonus on video poker?
Often not fully: welcome bonuses in UK apps are slot-focused, and video poker is often excluded or counts for less. 10bet's bonus must be wagered on slots, and Casumo's offer has game restrictions, so check the eligible games before playing. Wagering is capped at 10 times the bonus since January 2026. Our guide to how wagering works in casino apps explains contributions.
Do UK slot stake limits apply to video poker?
The £5 and £2 stake limits apply to online slots, which the Commission defines as reel-based games, so card-based video poker isn't normally covered. Check each game's rules for its own maximum bet. Video poker does follow the non-slot rules, including at least 5 seconds per game cycle and no autoplay. Our game design rules page sets out every requirement.
Can you use a strategy to win at video poker?
Strategy can reduce the house edge in video poker, but it can't make you a reliable winner on the tables you're likely to find. Optimal play on 9/6 Jacks or Better still leaves a 0.46% edge, and short sessions swing either way. Betting systems like Martingale don't change the edge at all. Our answer on whether you can win real money on casino apps is worth reading.
Is video poker on an app the same as in a casino?
The rules of each variant are the same, but the pay table is chosen by the operator, and online hands are dealt by a random number generator. Apps don't have lower returns by default, so check the paytable in the game you open. Our answer on whether app games are the same as desktop covers this too.
