High RTP slot apps in the UK

High RTP slot apps are casino apps where you can find slots that return more of each pound staked over the long run, and what matters most is the RTP version of the game you open, not the app. We rank three partner apps, list the slots with the highest published RTPs, and show what the difference between versions costs you per hour.

Key takeaways

  • No partner publishes which RTP version each of its slots runs, so check the game’s help screen in the app every time.
  • PlayOJO ranks first: its welcome spins are on a named slot, Big Bass Bonanza (top published RTP 96.71%), with no wagering.
  • Among slots we review, Blood Suckers lists 98.00% and Mega Joker up to 99% at its top stake in Supermeter mode.
  • At 50p a spin for 600 spins, a 96.71% version costs £9.87 an hour on average, against £16.14 for a 94.62% version of the same game.
  • A high RTP lowers the average cost of play; it doesn’t make winning likely.

What makes a high RTP slot app

RTP, or return to player, is the share of all money staked on a slot that it pays back over a very large number of spins. A 97% slot returns £97 for every £100 staked on average, so its house edge is 3%. Our RTP glossary entry gives the short definition.

No app has a single RTP. Each slot has its own, and many slots come in several versions with different RTPs, from which the operator chooses. So a high RTP slot app is really one where the slots you want run their higher versions, and where you can see the figure before you play. UK rules make that second part easier: under RTS 3 (opens in a new tab), the RTP, house edge or chances of winning must be available to you before you commit to play.

None of our partners publishes a list of the RTP versions its slots run. The only reliable check is the help or information screen inside each game in the app.

How we ranked high RTP slot apps

Because RTP versions aren’t published by app, we couldn’t rank on an average RTP, and we won’t invent one. Instead we ranked three partner apps on facts that affect what slot play costs you:

  1. Knowing what you’re spinning: offers on a named game beat ‘selected games’, because you can check that game’s RTP.
  2. No extra play at the house edge: no wagering on spin winnings means no forced play-through.
  3. Slot range as published: a bigger slot lobby gives more chance of finding high RTP titles.
  4. Money back or other cost reductions that apply to slot play.

Other ranked lists, including the best slot apps, are on the best casino apps hub.

The best high RTP slot apps, ranked

1. PlayOJO: a named game and money back on play

The PlayOJO app is the only partner whose welcome spins are tied to a named slot, Big Bass Bonanza, so you can check the RTP before you play them. Our Big Bass Bonanza review gives its top published RTP as 96.71%, with high volatility; lower versions of the game exist, so confirm the figure on the game’s help screen.

The welcome offer is 80 free spins for a first deposit of £10 or more, at 10p each, with no wagering, so winnings are paid in cash. 18+, new UK customers only (Northern Ireland excluded), and terms apply. PlayOJO also says OJOplus pays money back on every game played, which trims the long-run cost of slot play. Its lobby covers slots, jackpot slots, bingo, table games and live casino. Which high RTP titles it carries isn’t published, so search its lobby; our PlayOJO slots page has more.

2. Coral: Megaways and fruit machines, no wagering on spins

The Coral Casino app store listing highlights slots including Megaways and classic fruit machines, alongside blackjack, roulette and live casino. Coral doesn’t publish its RTP versions or a list of high RTP titles, so the facts don’t show which of the slots below it offers: check the app’s game lobby and each game’s help screen.

Its offer suits careful slot players: bet £10 on slots and get 100 free spins at 10p each on selected games, with no wagering on winnings, 48 hours to accept and 7 days to use. 18+, new players, running 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027; Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don’t qualify. It ranks below PlayOJO because the spin games are ‘selected’ rather than named.

3. Ladbrokes: the largest slot lobby on its listing

The Ladbrokes Casino app lists 1,800+ slots in its store description, the largest slot figure any partner gives on its own listing. A bigger lobby gives you more chance of finding a high RTP game, but Ladbrokes doesn’t publish which titles it carries or which versions they run, so check the lobby and the help screen.

The welcome offer gives up to 500 free spins: deposit and spend £10 on slots, then claim 50 spins a day for the first 10 days, at 10p each on selected games, before 23:59 each day, each batch valid for 7 days, with no wagering. 18+, new customers; prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers deposits don’t qualify. It ranks third because the daily claims ask for more of your time.

High RTP slots to look for in a slot app

These are the highest published RTPs among the slots we review. They’re the developers’ top figures; an app may run a lower version, and we can’t confirm which partner apps carry each one. Search the lobby by name, then open the game’s help screen.

Read the full reviews of Mega Joker, Blood Suckers, Big Bad Wolf, White Rabbit Megaways, Immortal Romance and Dead or Alive 2 for how each plays on a phone. Mega Joker’s top figure needs the highest stake and its Supermeter mode, so the RTP you see at lower stakes will be lower.

Why the same slot can have a different RTP in different apps

Developers often release one game with several RTP settings, and each operator picks the version it offers. The figures can be far apart. Bigger Bass Bonanza is published at 96.71%, with 95.67% and 94.62% versions; The Dog House Megaways at 96.55%, with 95.53% and 94.55% versions; and Sakura Fortune at up to 96.58%, with a version around 90%.

This is about the operator’s choice, not the device. Apps don’t have a lower RTP by default; the version in a casino’s app is normally the version on its website, and the help screen tells you which you’re playing. Our answer to whether RTP is lower on casino apps covers the myth in more detail.

Once a game is live, the rules are fixed. Under RTS 7 (opens in a new tab), a game’s rules, payouts and probabilities can’t change while it’s available for play, and adaptive games that adjust results to hit a target return aren’t allowed online. A slot doesn’t tighten up after a big win or loosen after a losing run.

What RTP means in pounds: the cost of an hour on a slot app

Standard game maths gives the average cost of play as total stakes × house edge. UK rules set a minimum of 2.5 seconds per slot spin, so the most you could play is 1,440 spins an hour. Most people play far fewer; the table assumes 600 spins an hour as an illustration.

Average cost of 600 spins (one hour) at different RTPs
Stake per spinTotal staked98% RTP (2% edge)96.71% RTP (3.29%)94.62% RTP (5.38%)
20p£120£2.40£3.95£6.46
50p£300£6.00£9.87£16.14
£1£600£12.00£19.74£32.28

The last two columns are both versions of Bigger Bass Bonanza. At 50p a spin, choosing the 96.71% version over the 94.62% one saves £6.27 an hour on average. That’s the real case for high RTP slot apps: not bigger wins, but a lower average price for the same entertainment. The Wizard of Odds house edge guide (opens in a new tab) explains the maths behind these figures.

How to find a slot’s RTP inside a casino app

Every UK-licensed slot must show its RTP or chances of winning before you play. The wording and position vary by developer, but the route is similar in most apps.

  1. Search the app’s lobby for the slot by name.
  2. Open the game; many apps let you view the game screen before you stake anything.
  3. Look for the game’s information, help or paytable button, often shown as an ‘i’ or a menu icon.
  4. Scroll to the section on rules or game information and find the RTP percentage.
  5. Compare it with the developer’s top published figure on our slot review page.
  6. If the app runs a noticeably lower version, consider a different slot with a higher figure.
  7. Note the volatility too, so you know how bumpy a session is likely to be.

Our guide to finding a game’s RTP in an app has more detail, and RTP information rules explains what operators must show.

High RTP vs low volatility on a £20 slot budget

RTP tells you the average cost; volatility tells you how unevenly it arrives. Two high RTP slots can feel completely different on a phone with a small budget.

Take £20 at 10p a spin, which is 200 spins. Played through once, Blood Suckers at 98.00% costs 40p on average, and its low volatility means frequent small returns, so the budget tends to last. Dead or Alive 2 at 96.82% costs about 64p on average for the same stakes, but its high volatility and 111,111× maximum win mean long dry spells are normal and most of the return comes from rare features.

  • Want a long, steady session? A high RTP, low volatility slot fits best.
  • Accept long losing runs for rare big features? High volatility is the trade-off, whatever the RTP.
  • Jackpot slots usually have lower base RTPs because part of each stake feeds the jackpot; Mega Moolah’s base game is published at 88.12% excluding jackpot contribution. See jackpot slot apps.

UK slot rules in every high RTP slot app

A higher RTP doesn’t change the rules around the game. Every UK-licensed slot app applies the same limits.

Myths and mistakes to avoid with high RTP slot apps

  • ‘The app pays less than the website.’ Not by default. Check the help screen; the version is the operator’s choice, not the device’s.
  • ‘This slot is due a win.’ Every spin is independent, and UK rules ban adaptive games.
  • ‘97% means I’ll get £97 back from £100 today.’ RTP is a long-run average; a single session can go far either way.
  • Playing longer because the RTP is high. A lower edge still adds up: an hour at 50p and 98% RTP costs £6 on average.
  • Offshore sites claiming 99% on everything. Unlicensed operators offer no Gambling Commission protection and no RTS 3 duty to show you the real figure.

If slot play is costing more than you planned, set a deposit limit or take a break in the app, or call the National Gambling Helpline free on 0808 8020 133, 24/7. The page on safer gambling tools in casino apps explains each option.

High RTP slot apps with a welcome offer

  • Coral: bet £10+ on slots for 100 free spins, 10p each on selected games, 48 hours to accept and 7 days to use, no wagering on winnings. Runs 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027; Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don’t qualify.
  • Ladbrokes: deposit and spend £10+ on slots for 50 free spins a day for the first 10 days (up to 500), 10p each on selected games, claim before 23:59 each day, valid 7 days, no wagering. Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers deposits don’t qualify.

At 10p a spin, PlayOJO’s 80 spins have an £8 face value and return about £7.74 on average at 96.71%. These are slot offers; table and live games are often excluded, so check the terms.

Frequently asked questions

What is the highest RTP slot on a UK casino app?

Among the slots we review, Mega Joker lists the highest figure, up to 99%, but only at its top stake in Supermeter mode. Blood Suckers lists 98.00% and Big Bad Wolf 97.34%. Whether an app carries them, and at which version, varies, so search the lobby and check the help screen. Our answer to the best RTP slot on a casino app goes further.

Which casino app has the highest RTP?

No app has a single RTP, and none of our partners publishes the RTP versions its slots run. We rank PlayOJO first because its welcome spins are on a named game you can check, Big Bass Bonanza, with a top published RTP of 96.71%. In any app, open the game’s help screen to see the version you’re playing. The PlayOJO app review covers the rest of the app.

Is RTP lower on casino apps than on the website?

Not by default. The RTP depends on which version of a game the operator offers, not on whether you play in an app or a browser. A slot can have several versions, so two casinos may run different ones. Always check the game’s help screen in the app. Our explainer on whether RTP is the same on mobile covers the details.

Does a high RTP slot mean I’ll win more?

No, a high RTP means the slot costs less on average over a very large number of spins, not that you’re likely to win. A 98% slot still keeps £2 of every £100 staked over the long run, and any single session can end well below that. Volatility shapes how results arrive. The house edge glossary entry explains why losses are likely over time.

How do I check a slot’s RTP in a casino app?

Open the slot and look for its information, help or paytable screen, often an ‘i’ or menu icon. UK rules require the RTP, house edge or chances of winning to be available before you play. Compare the figure with the developer’s top published RTP; if it’s lower, you’re on a lower version. Our answer on how to find the RTP in a casino app walks through the steps.

Can a casino change a slot’s RTP while I’m playing?

No. Under the Gambling Commission’s technical standards, a game’s rules, payouts and probabilities can’t change while it’s available for play, and adaptive games that adjust outcomes to hit a target return aren’t allowed online. An operator chooses a version when it adds a game, and that version applies to every spin. See our page on RTP information rules for the detail.

Is a 96% RTP good for a slot?

It’s a useful benchmark. Many popular slots we review publish top RTPs between about 96% and 97%, and a few go higher. At 96%, £100 of stakes costs £4 on average; at 94% it costs £6. Jackpot slots often sit lower because part of each stake funds the jackpot. Compare titles on our mobile slot reviews page, which lists each game’s published RTP.

What RTP are PlayOJO’s welcome spins played at?

PlayOJO’s welcome spins are on Big Bass Bonanza, whose top published RTP is 96.71%. Lower versions of the game exist, so open the game’s help screen in the PlayOJO app to see which one you’re playing. At 10p a spin, 80 spins have an £8 face value, worth about £7.74 on average at the top RTP. The PlayOJO welcome bonus page has the full terms.
