Who is Hacksaw Gaming?
Hacksaw Gaming launched in September 2018 and is headquartered in Malta. Its parent company, Hacksaw AB, listed its shares on Nasdaq Stockholm on 25 June 2025 under the ticker HACK, and Christoffer Källberg is group CEO. The company site lists more than 250 games.
Slots are the main product, but Hacksaw also makes scratchcards and instant-win games, and it runs a platform called OpenRGS. For UK players the key point is its Gambling Commission licence, reference 000-054059, which lets it supply games to British operators. Like every studio on our slot providers hub, it doesn’t run a casino of its own.

| Stick ’Em | 96.1% | Medium | – | 5x4, 1,024 ways |
Even the medium-rated games carry caps of 10,000x or more, which tells you a large share of the return sits in rare outcomes. Treat those caps as limits, not targets.
Hacksaw’s signature mechanics
VS symbols and DuelReels
In Wanted Dead or a Wild, a VS symbol that lands in a win expands to fill its reel and becomes a wild with a random multiplier from 2x to 100x, and several VS wilds add their multipliers together. Newer Hacksaw games use a related mechanic called DuelReels: a VS symbol in a win expands to cover the reel, two characters duel, and the winner’s multiplier applies to that reel. In Eternal Duel, released in March 2026 (opens in a new tab), DuelReels multipliers run from 2x to 100x and combine when several land in one win.
Reel multipliers in Chaos Crew
Chaos Crew’s bonus is a three-spin reset feature. Multiplier symbols either add to or multiply a value sitting above each reel, and every one that lands resets the count to three. When the spins run out, the reel multipliers are totalled and paid as a multiple of your stake.
Golden squares in the Le series
Le Bandit and Le Pharaoh turn winning positions into golden squares. When a Rainbow symbol lands, those squares become coins with cash values, clovers multiply nearby coins and Pots of Gold collect them. Le Viking uses a different idea, Raid Spins, a hold-and-win respin feature with three lives.
Cluster grids with multiplier wilds
Hand of Anubis pays for five or more connected symbols on a 5x6 grid, with Soul Orb wilds that build multipliers and multiply each other when they share a cluster. Rocket Reels uses a 7x7 grid where launched rockets leave multipliers behind. Our cluster pays glossary entry explains the format.
Hacksaw RTP versions: from about 96% down to 88%
Several newer Hacksaw slots are offered to operators in four RTP versions. The game looks the same in every version, so the help screen is the only place to see which one an app runs. Our page on whether RTP is lower in casino apps explains why the device itself doesn’t change it.
| Slot | Top version | Second | Third | Lowest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 Wild 2 Die | 96.25% (£3.75) | 94.15% (£5.85) | 92.14% (£7.86) | 88.25% (£11.75) |
| Fist of Destruction | 96.30% (£3.70) | 94.3% (£5.70) | 92.38% (£7.62) | 88.27% (£11.73) |
| Slayers Inc | 96.28% (£3.72) | 94.36% (£5.64) | 92.40% (£7.60) | 88.22% (£11.78) |
The pound figure in brackets is £100 × (100% − RTP). At the lowest setting you would expect to lose about three times as much per £100 as at the top one. Rotten, Stormforged, Beam Boys and Mayan Stackways are also listed with lower versions, though we don’t hold their exact figures.
What Hacksaw slots cost per hour at different stakes
UK rules set a minimum of 2.5 seconds per spin, which caps play at 1,440 spins an hour. Using 2 Wild 2 Die as the example, this table shows the expected hourly cost at that top speed, along with how many spins a £20 balance buys if nothing comes back.
| Stake | Spins from £20 with no returns | Hourly cost at 96.25% | Hourly cost at 88.25% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10p | 200 | £5.40 | £16.92 |
| 50p | 40 | £27.00 | £84.60 |
| £1 | 20 | £54.00 | £169.20 |
These are averages over a long run, and high-volatility games stray far from them in a single session. At £1 a spin, 20 losing spins in a row would end a £20 session before a bonus arrives, and that can easily happen on games built around rare multipliers. Smaller stakes give the features more chances to land.
Hacksaw bonus buys and UK casino apps
Since a Gambling Commission warning in January 2020, feature buy-ins are not offered to British players. CasinoBeats covered the warning (opens in a new tab) at the time. In a UK app, every Hacksaw bonus round, from Chaos Crew’s reel multipliers to the Le Bandit free spins, is reached only by landing the right scatters.
Some in-game features look similar but are part of normal play. The Best of Bonus scatter in Chaos Crew 2, which plays the bonus three times and pays the best result, lands on its own alongside a trigger; it isn’t bought.
Playing Hacksaw Gaming slots on your phone
Hacksaw games open inside the casino app or mobile site you use, so the app’s store listing sets the minimum iOS or Android version. Our guide to casino apps on iPhone covers installation.
- Dense grids: 5x5 and 6x5 layouts put 25 to 30 symbols on screen, and Rocket Reels has 49, so a bigger display helps you follow multipliers.
- Instant-win games: Hacksaw’s scratchcards and instant-win titles may sit in a different lobby section from its slots.
- Stable connection: bonus rounds with several stages can take a while, so start them on a reliable signal.
- Limits first: set a deposit limit before you play rather than during a session.
How to find Hacksaw Gaming slots in a casino app
- Install a UK-licensed casino app and complete age and identity checks.
- Set a deposit limit when prompted before your first deposit.
- Search the slots lobby for a title such as Le Bandit or Wanted Dead or a Wild.
- Use the provider filter, if the app has one, and pick Hacksaw Gaming.
- Open the game’s help screen and check which RTP version it runs.
- Pick a stake within your age’s UK limit and your own budget.
Our partners don’t publish studio lists, so a missing title usually means that operator doesn’t carry it. Compare lobbies on our best slot apps UK list.
UK rules for Hacksaw Gaming slots in apps
The Gambling Commission’s stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab) caps online slot spins at £5 for players aged 25 and over and £2 for those aged 18 to 24. Other rules shape how Hacksaw games look and feel in a British app:
- No autoplay, turbo or slam-stop, under rules in force since 31 October 2021.
- At least 2.5 seconds per spin.
- No celebration sounds or animations for a return at or below your stake.
- From 17 January 2025, no playing several games at once, and net spend and time shown in real time.
- Rules and return information must be available in the game, under the Commission’s game description standard (opens in a new tab).

If you like Hacksaw’s multiplier-driven grids, Push Gaming builds cluster games with moving multiplier wilds, and Nolimit City goes even further on volatility. Both pages include RTP tables, so you can compare default and lower versions.
Alternatives to Hacksaw games with a welcome offer

- PlayOJO: 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza with a first deposit of £10 or more, at 10p per spin. No wagering, so winnings arrive as cash. For new UK customers outside Northern Ireland, through the designated offer link, and not with any other offer.
- Coral Casino: deposit (some types excluded) and bet £10 or more on slots to receive 100 free spins on selected games, each worth 10p. Open until 1 February 2027.
- Ladbrokes Casino: play £10 or more on slots to get 50 free spins a day for your first 10 days, 500 at most, valued at 10p each. Claim before 23:59 each day; each batch lasts 7 days; no wagering. Deposits by prepaid card, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers don’t qualify.
Coral and Ladbrokes belong to the same operator, LC International Limited, so you might not be able to open new accounts with both. Free spins don’t change the house edge, and losing over time is the likely outcome.

Frequently asked questions
Who owns Hacksaw Gaming?
Hacksaw Gaming belongs to Hacksaw AB, a company listed on Nasdaq Stockholm under the ticker HACK since 25 June 2025. Christoffer Källberg is group CEO, and the studio is headquartered in Malta. The listing doesn’t change how its games reach you: they still run inside licensed casino apps, and the operator picks the RTP version. See our slot providers hub for how other studios are owned.
Is Hacksaw Gaming licensed in the UK?
Yes, Hacksaw Gaming holds a Gambling Commission licence, reference 000-054059, which allows it to supply games to British operators. The casino app you use must also be licensed by the Commission. That two-layer setup means both the game and the app follow UK rules on stake limits, spin speed and game information. Our Coral Casino app review shows how an operator’s own licence details look.
What is the RTP of Hacksaw Gaming slots?
The Hacksaw slots we review have default RTPs between 96.1% and 96.48%, with Joker Bombs the highest at 96.48%. Several newer titles, such as 2 Wild 2 Die, also come in versions of about 94%, 92% and 88%. At 88.25% you would expect to lose about £11.75 per £100 staked, against £3.75 at 96.25%. Check the version in the game; our RTP glossary entry explains the figure.
Can I buy bonuses on Hacksaw slots in the UK?
No, you can’t buy bonuses on Hacksaw slots in a UK casino app. Since a Gambling Commission warning in January 2020, feature buy-ins are not offered to British players, so bonus rounds trigger only through normal spins. Features that land on their own, such as Chaos Crew 2’s Best of Bonus scatter, are still part of the game. Our game design rules page explains the wider limits.
What is Hacksaw Gaming’s most popular slot?
Wanted Dead or a Wild is Hacksaw Gaming’s best-known slot. It uses a 5x5 grid with 15 lines, a 96.38% RTP and high volatility, with a maximum win of 12,500x. VS symbols in wins become expanding wilds with 2x to 100x multipliers, and three separate bonus rounds each need their own scatters. Read our Wanted Dead or a Wild review for how each round works.
Are Hacksaw slots good for small budgets?
Hacksaw slots can be played at small stakes, but their design leans toward rare, large results, so a small budget can run out before a bonus lands. Medium-rated games such as Le Bandit or Dork Unit give a steadier ride than Chaos Crew or Hand of Anubis. Lower stakes stretch a £20 balance across more spins. Our low stakes casino games page has more ideas.
Do Hacksaw Gaming slots work on Android?
Yes, Hacksaw slots work on Android phones and tablets through UK casino apps and mobile sites that carry them. Google Play lists licensed real-money casino apps in the UK, and the app’s listing sets the device requirements. The 6x5 grids are easier to read on a larger screen. Our Android install guide walks through the setup safely.
What is the Le series from Hacksaw?
The Le series is a group of Hacksaw slots, including Le Bandit, Le Pharaoh and Le Viking, that share the “Le” naming. Le Bandit and Le Pharaoh turn winning positions into golden squares that a Rainbow symbol converts into coins, clovers and Pots of Gold. Le Viking instead uses Raid Spins, a hold-and-win feature with three lives. See our Le Bandit review.
