Can I play with friends on a casino app?
Can I play with friends on a casino app? Yes, but only side by side: each of you needs your own verified account, and then you can join the same live dealer table, bingo room or slot race. What you can't do on a UK real-money app is share one account, fund a friend's play, or include anyone under 18.
Key takeaways
- Every player needs their own account, verified for age and identity before any gambling.
- Live tables, bingo rooms and slot races are the main shared formats; each bet stays separate.
- Sharing a login or paying into a friend's account breaks typical terms on third-party use and funding.
- Social casino apps without real money are a different product with different age ratings.
- Short answer
- Yes, side by side, each with your own account
- Minimum age
- 18, verified before you gamble
- Shared formats
- Live tables, bingo, slot races
- Not allowed
- Shared accounts or funding a friend's play
- Games at once
- One casino game at a time per player
Playing with friends on a casino app: how it actually works
Real-money casino apps are built around individual accounts. There's no shared wallet and usually no private room you can invite friends into. Instead, "playing with friends" means each of you opening the same game from your own account at the same time, so you see the same dealer, the same bingo draw or the same leaderboard.
Whatever you play, your bets, balance and limits remain your own. That's a useful protection: one person's stake can't be placed from another person's account, and each player's safer-gambling tools work independently. Our questions hub covers the other common app questions.
Why every friend needs their own verified casino app account
UK rules make an individual account unavoidable. Online operators must verify a customer's age and identity before they can deposit or gamble, including with a bonus, and they must age-verify you before you can access free-to-play versions of gambling games too. The Commission's age and ID verification guide (opens in a new tab) explains the checks: usually name, address and date of birth, with documents if needed.
Operator terms also commonly cover third-party use and funding of accounts, an area the Commission names in its promotional play restrictions guidance (opens in a new tab). If a friend plays on your login or tops up your balance, an operator may treat it as a breach. Our pages on whether casino apps check ID and whether someone else can use your casino app explain the details.
Ways to play alongside friends in a real-money casino app
| Format | What you share | What stays separate | Where it's listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Live dealer table | Dealer, cards or wheel, and the table chat | Each player's bets and balance | Live casino at Coral, Ladbrokes and PlayOJO |
| Infinite Blackjack-style tables | A common starting hand with unlimited seats | Each player's decisions after the deal | Evolution game; check the app's lobby |
| Live game shows | The same wheel spin and bonus rounds on screen | Only those who bet on a bonus segment can win it | Ladbrokes lists game shows |
| Bingo rooms | The same draw and room | Each player's tickets | PlayOJO lists bingo |
| Slot races and tournaments | A shared leaderboard | Each player's spins on their own slot | Casumo's Reel Races |
| Free-to-play contests | The same contest or prize draw | Each entry | Ladbrokes game show and live roulette contests |
None of these lets you combine money or play for someone else. They simply put you in the same game at the same moment.
Joining the same live casino table as your friends
Live dealer games are the closest thing to sitting at a table together. Evolution says (opens in a new tab) players connect by phone or computer to place bets, make in-game decisions and chat with the dealer or other players. Dealers usually reply out loud to messages in the chat.
Some formats suit a group especially well. In Evolution's Infinite Blackjack, seats are unlimited and everyone gets the same initial two-card hand, then makes their own choices. In Crazy Time, everyone can watch a bonus round, but only those who bet on that segment can win in it. See our pages on Infinite Blackjack on mobile and the Crazy Time app.
Table chat has its own etiquette, and our guide to live casino chat on mobile covers it. Whether a particular app offers chat on a given table isn't something store listings state, so check in the game itself or read whether you can chat with dealers on mobile.
Bingo rooms, slot races and casino app tournaments
Bingo has always been a shared game, and it works the same way in an app: everyone in the room plays against the same draw. The PlayOJO app lists bingo alongside slots and live casino in its store description. Our ranking of bingo apps compares the options.
Slot races and tournaments give a shared leaderboard rather than a shared game. Casumo describes Reel Races with real-time updates in its iOS listing. Our explainers on what a casino app tournament is and what a slot race on Casumo is cover how scoring and prizes usually work.
A race or tournament is still gambling at your own stake. A leaderboard can encourage faster or longer play, so set your stake and time before you join.
Social casino apps vs real-money apps for playing with friends
Many apps built around friends lists, gifting and group chat are social casino apps, which don't pay out real money. Apple's age rating definitions (opens in a new tab) separate "Gambling", meaning betting real money or currency exchangeable for it, from "Simulated Gambling", which uses neither. Gambling and frequent simulated gambling both sit at 18+ on devices running iOS 26 or later.
Real-money apps work differently. Apple's App Review Guidelines (opens in a new tab) say real-money gaming apps must be licensed where used, geo-restricted and free on the App Store, and they can't use in-app purchase to buy credit for real-money gaming. Our guides to social casino apps vs real-money apps and what a social casino app is explain the differences.
What you can't do with friends on a casino app
- Share one account. Each player must be the verified account holder; a shared login is third-party use.
- Pay into a friend's account or let them use your card. Third-party funding is a common breach of terms, and credit cards can't be used to gamble in Great Britain at all.
- Bring anyone under 18. Real-money apps carry an 18+ rating, and under-18s can't gamble or use free-to-play versions.
- Claim one person's welcome offer twice. Coral's terms allow one welcome offer per customer, and Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain), so one person may not be able to open new accounts at both.
- Run several games at once to keep up. Since 17 January 2025, apps can't let you play multiple casino games simultaneously.
If you're unsure whether something counts as a breach, our explainer on bonus abuse on casino apps covers the terms operators rely on.
Sharing a phone or tablet with friends
Passing a phone around is where accounts get mixed up. A few steps keep things clean:
- Have each person install the app on their own phone and sign in to their own account.
- If you must share a device, log out fully before handing it over.
- Use Face ID or Touch ID where the app supports it; Casumo's iOS listing mentions both. Our Face ID and Touch ID guide explains how biometric log-in works.
- Don't save a card in an app on a device other people use.
- Check your transaction history afterwards to confirm every bet was yours.
Our guide on sharing a phone and casino apps goes further, and keeping your casino account secure covers passwords and two-step verification.
Keeping group play within your own limits
Playing alongside other people can make it harder to stick to a plan, because the pace and stakes are partly set by the group. Gambling is paid entertainment with a house edge, so losses are the likely outcome over time for everyone at the table. Your limits are personal, and it's always fine to watch instead of bet.
- Set a deposit limit in your own account before you join.
- Decide a stop time and turn on a reality check so the app reminds you.
- Don't lend money, borrow money or chase losses to keep up with someone else.
- Use budgeting for casino apps to set an amount you're comfortable losing.

Frequently asked questions
Can two people use the same casino app account?
No. Each account belongs to one verified person, and operator terms commonly treat use of an account by someone else as a breach. If two people want to play, each should open their own account, pass their own age and identity checks and use their own payment method. Our guide to how casino apps verify your identity explains the checks.
Can I join the same live casino table as my friend?
Usually yes, if you're both on the same app and the table has space. Many live tables seat several players, and formats like Evolution's Infinite Blackjack have unlimited seats with a shared starting hand. Each of you bets from your own account. Our guide to live blackjack on mobile explains how live tables work on a phone.
Can I chat with other players in a casino app?
Often, at live tables. Evolution says its live games let players chat with the dealer or other players, and dealers usually respond out loud. Not every table or app offers chat, and store listings don't say which do, so check in the game. Our live dealers on apps page explains who is on the other end.
Can I send money to a friend's casino account?
No. Funding someone else's account is third-party funding, which operator terms commonly prohibit, and it can lead to a bonus being removed or the account being restricted. Each player should deposit from a payment method in their own name. Credit cards can't be used to gamble in Great Britain at all. See our credit card ban page for that rule.
Are there multiplayer casino games on UK apps?
Yes, in the sense that several people can play the same game at once. Live dealer tables, game shows, bingo rooms and slot races or tournaments all put players in a shared game or leaderboard, while every bet stays individual. Peer-to-peer poker is a separate product. Our game show casino apps ranking covers the shared live shows.
Can my 17-year-old friend watch or play on my casino app?
They can't play, and they shouldn't use your account in any way. Real-money casino apps are rated 18+, UK operators must verify that players are adults before they gamble, and age checks apply even to free-to-play versions of gambling games. Our guide on young people and gambling apps explains how to keep apps away from under-18s.
Can friends play together on a social casino app instead?
Yes, social casino apps are designed around friends lists and gifting, but they don't pay out real money. Apple classes them as simulated gambling rather than gambling. Frequent simulated gambling still carries an 18+ rating on iOS 26 and later. Our page asking are free casino apps real money explains the difference in detail.
Can my friend and I both get the welcome bonus?
Each new customer who meets an offer's terms can usually claim it on their own account. You can't claim twice yourself, and Coral's terms allow one welcome offer per customer. If your friend already has a Coral account, they may not be able to open a new Ladbrokes one, as both share an operator. See do casino apps have welcome bonuses for more.
