Skrill casino apps in the UK

Skrill casino apps let you pay from an e-wallet instead of your bank card, and among our partners Casumo publishes Skrill for both deposits and withdrawals. The catch is bonuses: Coral, Ladbrokes and 10bet all exclude Skrill deposits from their welcome offers. Here is where Skrill works, how fast it pays out and what to watch.

Key takeaways

  • Skrill is an e-wallet run by Paysafe Financial Services Limited and authorised by the FCA as an e-money business.
  • Casumo lists Skrill for deposits and says Skrill withdrawals arrive instantly once approved.
  • Coral, Ladbrokes and 10bet exclude Skrill deposits from their welcome offers, so use another method if you want the bonus.
  • Money in a Skrill account is e-money: Skrill says the FSCS does not apply to it.
  • Topping up Skrill with a credit card to gamble isn't allowed; operators must check e-wallets weren't loaded by credit card.

How Skrill works with casino apps

Skrill is an e-wallet: you open an account, add money to it, and then pay merchants from the wallet balance rather than from your card or bank directly. When a casino app accepts Skrill, you log in to the wallet during the deposit, and the casino only ever sees your Skrill account, never your bank details.

Players tend to use it for two reasons. First, it keeps gambling money in a separate pot, which some people find easier to track. Second, where an operator supports it, withdrawals to an e-wallet can be among the quickest routes back. Casumo, for example, lists Skrill payouts as instant once a withdrawal has been approved.

Paysafe also runs a service called Rapid Transfer, an instant bank transfer that moves money from your bank account into a Skrill or Neteller wallet. That's one way to fund the wallet without a card. Our e-wallet glossary entry covers the general idea, and the payments hub compares Skrill with every other method.

Is Skrill safe for casino apps? Who runs and regulates it

Skrill is a trading name of Paysafe Financial Services Limited, and the UK account is operated in the United Kingdom under English law. The Skrill account terms of use (opens in a new tab) set out the key protections and limits.

The FSCS point is worth understanding. A bank deposit is usually covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, but e-money works differently, and Skrill says the FSCS doesn't apply. Keep only what you need in the wallet and withdraw the rest to your bank. Skrill also appears on Open Banking's list of regulated providers (opens in a new tab).

Skrill's own terms ban payments for unlicensed gambling. That lines up with the advice in our guide on how to spot an unlicensed casino app: stick to apps licensed by the Gambling Commission.

Which casino apps accept Skrill: our five partners

Skrill support is patchier than card support. Only one partner publishes Skrill for both directions on its own pages, and three exclude it from their welcome offers.

Casumo is the stand-out. Its UK FAQ names Skrill among its deposit methods, with a £10 minimum for all methods, and its withdrawal table lists Skrill as instant after approval. Under its withdrawal policy (opens in a new tab), requests are approved or denied within three days, there's a £3 fee below £10, and no fee from £10 upwards. More on the Casumo app's payment methods.

At 10bet, the help centre groups payouts into debit cards, e-wallets and bank transfers, with e-wallet withdrawals in up to 2 business days (opens in a new tab). Skrill appears in a third-party list of its deposit methods rather than the help centre itself. The Coral and Ladbrokes help centres don't list Skrill, though their offers name it as excluded, so check the cashier.

How to deposit with Skrill in a casino app

You need a funded Skrill account before you start. The steps cover the general process; each app's cashier looks a little different.

  1. Open and verify a Skrill account, then add money from your bank (for example with Rapid Transfer) or a debit card. Never use a credit card.
  2. In the casino app, finish age and ID verification, which UK rules require before any deposit.
  3. Set a deposit limit at the prompt that appears before your first deposit.
  4. Choose Skrill in the cashier and enter the amount, at least £10 at Casumo.
  5. Log in to Skrill when asked and confirm the payment.
  6. Back in the casino app, check your balance and the transaction history.

Skrill and casino bonuses: why deposits are excluded

E-wallets are among the most common exclusions in UK welcome offers, and Skrill is named more often than most. Here is the position at each partner, using the offer terms on record.

PlayOJO: 80 free spinsNo Skrill exclusion named18+; £10 first deposit; 10p spins; no wagering

If Skrill is your only method, PlayOJO's offer has no named Skrill exclusion, but PlayOJO doesn't list Skrill as a method either, so you'd need to see it in the cashier. Never try to get around an exclusion: the terms are binding, and the bonus can be removed. Our guide to payment methods excluded from bonuses and reading casino app bonus terms explain more.

Skrill casino withdrawals: how fast is it?

Where it's supported, Skrill can be one of the quickest ways to get money back. Casumo publishes Skrill payouts as instant after approval, against up to 2 days for cards and up to 5 days for bank payouts. That approval step is the real wait: Casumo says requests are usually reviewed within hours and decided within three days.

As a worked example, a £60 Casumo withdrawal to Skrill would carry no fee, because it's over £10. A £8 withdrawal would cost £3, leaving £5, so it's worth waiting until a balance is at least £10. Once the money is in Skrill, moving it on to your bank can carry Skrill's own fees, listed on its fees page.

Most UK casinos pay back to the method you deposited with where possible, so plan your withdrawal route when you deposit. See how to withdraw from a casino app and the fastest withdrawal methods for more.

Skrill and the credit card gambling ban

Since 14 April 2020, licensed operators in Great Britain haven't been allowed to accept gambling payments by credit card. The Gambling Commission's guide to gambling with a credit card (opens in a new tab) says this extends to e-wallets: a business accepting Skrill should make sure the money wasn't loaded from a credit card.

So fund your wallet from a debit card or bank account only. If a casino spots credit card funding, it can refuse the deposit. Our page on the credit card ban in casino apps covers the rule in full.

Skrill vs Neteller for casino apps

Skrill and Neteller are sister brands. Both are run by Paysafe Financial Services Limited under the same FCA number, both prohibit payments to unlicensed gambling, and both can be topped up with Rapid Transfer. In casino apps they're usually treated the same way: Coral, Ladbrokes and 10bet exclude both from their welcome offers.

The main difference at our partners is on deposits. Casumo names Skrill as a deposit method in its FAQ but lists Neteller only for withdrawals. If you're choosing between the two for Casumo, Skrill covers both directions on the published information. Our Neteller casino apps page has the rest of the comparison, and PayPal casino apps covers the other big e-wallet.

Skrill casino apps with a welcome offer

Casumo is the closest match for Skrill users, as it publishes Skrill for both deposits and withdrawals. 10bet appears in third-party lists as taking Skrill, but its welcome bonus excludes Skrill deposits, and PlayOJO doesn't name a Skrill exclusion. All offers are for new customers aged 18+ and terms apply.

Casumo: opt in for a 50% bonus up to £100 on a first deposit of at least £20, wagered 10x within 7 days, with a £5 maximum bet and game, play and payment restrictions. A £20 deposit brings a £10 bonus and £100 of wagering. 10bet: 100% up to £25, chosen at sign-up, first deposit within 7 days, 10x on slots within 3 days, maximum bonus winnings £1,000; Skrill and Neteller deposits don't qualify. PlayOJO: 80 spins on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p for a first deposit of £10 or more, no wagering, not for Northern Ireland. Gambling costs money over time, so set a budget first. Frequently asked questions

Which UK casino apps accept Skrill?

Among our partners, Casumo is the one that names Skrill on its own pages, for both deposits and withdrawals. 10bet appears in a third-party list as accepting Skrill and pays e-wallets within 2 business days. Coral and Ladbrokes don't list Skrill in their help centres, and PlayOJO doesn't name it. The cashier shows what's live. Our Casumo payments page and 10bet payments page go into detail.

Can I get a casino bonus with a Skrill deposit?

Often not. Coral, Ladbrokes and 10bet all exclude Skrill deposits from their welcome offers. Casumo says payment restrictions apply without naming them, so read its terms before you deposit. PlayOJO names no Skrill exclusion but doesn't list Skrill as a method. Every offer is 18+ with terms. If the bonus matters, use a qualifying method such as a debit card. Our payment method exclusions page lists each app's rules.

How fast are Skrill casino withdrawals?

Casumo publishes Skrill withdrawals as instant once approved, which makes it one of the quickest routes at our partners. Approval itself is usually within hours, and Casumo's policy says requests are decided within three days. 10bet gives up to 2 business days for e-wallets. Moving money from Skrill to your bank may then carry Skrill fees. Our guide which casino app pays out fastest? compares the options.

Is my money protected in a Skrill account?

Not in the same way as a bank account. Skrill says the Financial Services Compensation Scheme does not apply to a Skrill account, because it holds e-money rather than bank deposits. Skrill is authorised by the FCA under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011. To limit exposure, move winnings on to your bank rather than leaving them in the wallet. Our guide to keeping your casino account secure adds other tips.

Does Skrill charge fees for casino payments?

Skrill charges fees on some payments, including currency conversion, and lists the amounts on its fees page. We haven't been able to confirm a current figure, so check that page before you move money. Casinos have their own rules too: Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals under £10, while Coral and Ladbrokes charge no withdrawal fees. See our withdrawal fees guide for each partner.

Can I top up Skrill with a credit card to gamble?

No. The credit card gambling ban in Great Britain, in force since 14 April 2020, covers e-wallets as well. The Gambling Commission says a business accepting an e-wallet such as Skrill should make sure the money wasn't loaded from a credit card. Fund Skrill from a debit card or your bank account instead, for example with Rapid Transfer. Read more in can I use a credit card on a casino app?.

Is Skrill or Neteller better for casino apps?

They're very similar, as both are run by Paysafe under the same FCA registration. At our partners, Skrill has a slight edge because Casumo names it for deposits and withdrawals, whereas Neteller appears only in Casumo's withdrawal list. Both are excluded from the Coral, Ladbrokes and 10bet welcome offers. Pick the one you already use. Our Neteller casino apps page sets out the details.

Why can't I find Skrill in a casino app's cashier?

Not every app offers Skrill, and some show different methods depending on your account. Coral and Ladbrokes don't list Skrill in their help centres, and PlayOJO doesn't name it. Coral and Ladbrokes also limit you to three active payment methods in 30 days, which can hide new options. Contact support to check. Our guide to why a deposit was declined covers other blocks.
