Speed Baccarat on mobile

Speed Baccarat on mobile is Evolution's fast live baccarat table, where cards are dealt face up and a round takes about 27 seconds instead of roughly 48. The rules and odds match standard punto banco, so Banker still carries the lowest house edge. What changes is pace, and pace changes what an hour at the table costs.

Key takeaways

  • Evolution says Speed Baccarat rounds take about 27 seconds, against about 48 for its standard Baccarat, because cards are dealt face up with no squeeze.
  • With eight decks, the house edge is 1.06% on Banker, 1.24% on Player and 14.36% on a Tie paying 8:1.
  • Faster rounds mean more bets an hour: up to about 133 rounds instead of 75, so the same stake costs nearly twice as much per hour on average.
  • Side bets and the exact RTP for Speed Baccarat aren't on Evolution's public page, so check the help screen in your app.
  • Baccarat patterns and betting systems don't change the edge; a deposit limit does more for your budget than any method.

Speed Baccarat on mobile: the quick version

Speed Baccarat is a live dealer table from Evolution, listed in our live casino apps section. You bet on Player, Banker or a Tie, the dealer turns the cards face up straight away, and the next round opens within seconds. Evolution gives the round time as about 27 seconds, compared with about 48 seconds at its standard Baccarat table.

That makes it a natural fit for a phone: rounds are short, the cards are easy to read, and you only make one decision per hand. It also means the money moves faster. Nothing about the speed improves your odds, and because you place more bets an hour, your expected loss per hour rises too.

If you're new to the game itself, our baccarat app guide covers the basics, and live baccarat on mobile compares the different live versions. This page concentrates on the speed variant.

Speed Baccarat rules: Player, Banker and the third card

Speed Baccarat uses standard punto banco rules, so the dealer follows a fixed drawing chart and you never decide whether to take a card. Your only choices are what to bet on and how much.

  1. When betting opens, place chips on Player, Banker or Tie (and any side bets the table offers).
  2. Betting closes and the dealer deals two cards each to Player and Banker, face up.
  3. Count each hand: aces are 1, cards 2 to 9 are face value, tens and picture cards are 0, and only the last digit of the total counts. A 9 and a 7 make 16, which counts as 6.
  4. If either hand has 8 or 9 from its first two cards, that's a natural and both hands stand.
  5. Otherwise the Player hand draws a third card on 0 to 5 and stands on 6 or 7, and the Banker hand follows the third-card chart below.
  6. The hand closest to 9 wins. Winning Player bets pay even money; winning Banker bets pay 19:20 (even money less 5% commission); a Tie usually pays 8:1.

You don't need to memorise this: the dealer and the software apply it automatically. It's useful only so the result makes sense when a third card appears.

Why Speed Baccarat rounds take only 27 seconds

The time saving comes from how the cards are shown. At a squeeze table the dealer bends and slowly reveals face-down cards on camera, which is part of the theatre. Evolution's Live Baccarat Squeeze uses more than 15 cameras to film it. Speed Baccarat drops all of that: cards go down face up and the result is known almost at once.

Evolution's live baccarat range (opens in a new tab) shows how varied the family is. The versions below share the same core drawing rules but differ in pace, fees or payouts.

UK rules set a floor, not a ceiling, on pace: since 17 January 2025, casino games other than slots must allow at least 5 seconds per game cycle. A 27-second round is comfortably above that. For the background, see our page on speed casino games on mobile and the game speed rules.

Speed Baccarat odds and house edge by bet

Because Speed Baccarat changes the pace and not the rules, standard punto banco maths applies. Wizard of Odds gives these figures for eight decks, the usual shoe for the game. Evolution's public page doesn't state the deck count for Speed Baccarat, so confirm it on the help screen.

Speed Baccarat bets: chance of winning and house edge (eight decks)

Player1:144.62%1.24%
Tie at 8:18:19.52%14.36%
Tie at 9:19:19.52%4.844%

Two points stand out. Banker wins slightly more often than Player, which is why the casino takes commission on it, and even after commission it's still the cheapest bet. The Tie bet is the expensive one at 8:1: on average it costs over 13 times as much per pound as Banker. Some tables pay 9:1 on a Tie instead, which brings the edge down to 4.844%, so the paytable is worth a look.

When a Tie happens, Player and Banker bets are normally returned rather than lost. Full detail is on Wizard of Odds' baccarat page (opens in a new tab), and our house edge by game table puts baccarat alongside blackjack and roulette.

What Speed Baccarat costs per hour on your phone

Here's where the speed matters. At about 27 seconds a round, an hour holds up to about 133 rounds (3,600 ÷ 27). At about 48 seconds it's 75. If you bet every round, you stake almost twice as much per hour at the speed table, and the expected loss rises in step.

Expected loss = stake per round × rounds × house edge. The table assumes you back Banker (1.06%) on every round with no breaks, so treat it as a ceiling rather than a typical session.

Expected loss per hour betting Banker every round
Stake per roundSpeed Baccarat (about 133 rounds)Standard Baccarat (75 rounds)
£2£266 staked, about £2.82£150 staked, about £1.59
£5£665 staked, about £7.05£375 staked, about £3.98
£10£1,330 staked, about £14.10£750 staked, about £7.95

Switch the same £5 to Player and the speed-table figure becomes about £8.25 an hour (£665 × 1.24%). Put £1 on the Tie at 8:1 every round and it's about £19.10 (£133 × 14.36%), more than the £5 Banker bettor loses on average despite staking a fifth as much.

Speed Baccarat side bets: check before you tap

Evolution's public material doesn't list the side bets or their payouts at the Speed Baccarat table, so open the paytable in the game to see what's offered. What we can say is that baccarat side bets almost always cost more than the main bets.

  • An Either Pair bet paying 5:1 has a house edge of about 13.71% with eight decks, according to Wizard of Odds.
  • On one electronic version, Player Pair (9 for a pair) had a 5.27% edge and Banker Pair 8.57%.
  • A Dragon Bonus bet had 2.65% on the Player side and 9.37% on the Banker side with eight decks.
  • Commission-free baccarat in its common Super 6 form pays half on a Banker 6, which lifts the Banker edge to 1.46%.

Paytables differ between tables, so treat these as examples of the range, not the figures at your table. If a side bet's edge isn't shown in the help screen, assume it's well above the 1.06% Banker bet.

Playing Speed Baccarat on a small screen

Baccarat suits a phone better than most live games. There are only three main betting areas, you don't make decisions after the deal, and face-up cards are easy to read even on a small stream. The challenge is the short betting window.

  • Choose your chip before betting opens, so a single tap places the bet.
  • Use the re-bet option if you stick to one bet; the Gambling Commission treats re-bet as different from autoplay, which is banned.
  • Check that the bet total is what you meant before betting closes. A mis-tap on Tie instead of Banker is an expensive mistake.
  • Turn the phone sideways if the app supports it, to give the cards and the bet spots more room. Our guide to landscape vs portrait mode explains the difference.

Live video uses steady data, and a fast table keeps the stream running with little downtime. Read how much data live casino uses and what happens to a bet if your app crashes before you play on mobile data. A dropped connection doesn't pause the studio; the round finishes without you, and the game's rules screen explains how the bet is settled.

Speed Baccarat apps in the UK: what each partner offers around the table

None of our partners' store listings names Speed Baccarat, but all three apps include live casino, so search the live lobby before you deposit. With baccarat's slim edge, the practical differences between apps are in payments, withdrawals and support.

UK rules for Speed Baccarat in an app

A fast table still has to work within the Gambling Commission's design rules, most of which arrived on 17 January 2025.

The £5 and £2 online slot stake limits don't cover baccarat; the table's own stake range applies. The Commission's RTS 14 responsible product design standard (opens in a new tab) sets out the speed and multi-game rules in full.

Baccarat patterns, streaks and systems: what the maths says

Baccarat tables often show a history of recent results, and it's tempting to read streaks into it. Each round is dealt from the shoe without memory of what the last result was, and the house edge on each bet stays the same whatever the history shows.

Betting systems don't help either. Doubling after a loss, following the shoe or switching sides after a Tie all leave you making the same 1.06% or 1.24% bets, just in different sizes. Over time, results follow the house edge, and bigger stakes after losses only make losing runs more expensive. Our live baccarat guide covers this in more detail.

Setting limits before you sit at a fast table

Speed is the main risk factor at this table. Short rounds make it easy to lose track of how many bets you've placed, so put your limits in place before the first hand.

  1. Decide what an evening's entertainment is worth to you, and set that as a deposit limit. Our deposit limits guide explains the options.
  2. Switch on a reality check at a short interval, such as every 15 or 30 minutes.
  3. Glance at the on-screen net spend every few rounds.
  4. If you go past your limit, stop, and use a time-out if you want a cooling-off break. See our guide to taking a time-out in a casino app.

Frequently asked questions

How fast is Speed Baccarat?

Evolution says a Speed Baccarat round takes about 27 seconds, compared with about 48 seconds at its standard live Baccarat table. The saving comes from dealing the cards face up with no squeeze. That allows up to about 133 rounds an hour if you bet every round, against 75 at a standard table. UK rules only require at least 5 seconds per game cycle, so this pace is well within the limit. Our speed games guide compares other fast live tables.

Is Speed Baccarat worse odds than normal baccarat?

No, the rules and payouts are standard punto banco, so the house edge per bet is the same: 1.06% on Banker, 1.24% on Player and 14.36% on a Tie at 8:1 with eight decks. The difference is how many bets you make. Nearly twice as many rounds an hour means nearly twice the expected loss per hour at the same stake. Check the table's paytable in the help screen to confirm the payouts. See live baccarat on mobile for other versions.

What is the best bet in Speed Baccarat?

Banker has the lowest house edge, at 1.06% with eight decks, even after the 5% commission. Player is close behind at 1.24%. The Tie bet is much more expensive: 14.36% when it pays 8:1, or 4.844% if the table pays 9:1. No bet has a player edge, so losses are likely over time whichever you choose. Our house edge by game table shows how baccarat compares with blackjack and roulette.

Can I play Speed Baccarat on my phone?

Yes, Speed Baccarat streams to UK casino apps and mobile sites that carry Evolution's live tables. You'll need to search the app's live lobby, because not every operator lists every table. A stable Wi-Fi or 4G/5G connection matters, as the game is continuous live video. Short rounds and face-up cards make it one of the easier live games to follow on a small screen. Our live casino apps hub covers how live streaming works on phones.

What does 19:20 mean on the Banker bet?

It means a winning Banker bet pays 19 for every 20 staked, which is even money minus a 5% commission. So a £10 Banker win pays £9.50 plus your £10 stake back. The commission exists because Banker wins slightly more often than Player (45.86% against 44.62% with eight decks). Some commission-free tables instead pay half on a Banker win with 6, which raises the edge to 1.46%. Our baccarat app guide explains the rules in full.

How much data does Speed Baccarat use on mobile?

It uses about as much as any live video stream, because you're watching continuous footage whether or not you bet on a round. The exact amount depends on stream quality and your app, so no single figure applies. Wi-Fi is the safest option on a capped plan, and lowering the video quality where the game allows helps. Our guide to casino app data usage explains what drives data use.

Can I use a casino bonus on Speed Baccarat?

Usually not. The welcome offers from Casumo, 10bet and Coral that we list are slot offers, and live tables such as baccarat are normally excluded or count for less towards wagering. Playing an excluded game with bonus funds can void the bonus. Always read the offer terms first. Our guide to reading casino app bonus terms shows where to find game restrictions. 18+, terms apply.

Do streaks matter in Speed Baccarat?

No, a run of Banker or Player wins doesn't make either side more likely next round, and the house edge on each bet stays the same. History boards are there for interest, not prediction. Betting systems that react to streaks only change your stake sizes, not your expected loss, which follows the house edge over time. If you notice yourself chasing a pattern, it's a good moment for a break; see reality checks in casino apps.
