Every British-licensed online casino must confirm your age and identity before you can deposit or gamble. That rule has applied since 7 May 2019 and covers bonuses and free-to-play demo games too. The deposit limit prompt before your first deposit
Since 31 October 2025, UK operators must prompt every new customer to set a financial limit before the first deposit. Setting a limit is the default, and if you don't want one you have to confirm that choice. You type the amount yourself; the app can't pre-fill a suggested figure.

Under the same rules, a request to lower a limit must take effect straight away. A sensible approach is to set the amount you'd be comfortable losing in a month, then adjust it only after a cooling-off pause.
UK rules in force since 1 May 2025 mean the registration form must let you choose marketing by product (betting, casino, bingo) and by channel (phone, email and SMS). The options must be off by default, so you only get what you tick.
