Best apps for Lightning Roulette
The best apps for Lightning Roulette are UK-licensed casino apps with a live roulette lobby, and we rank Casumo, 10bet and Coral for it. None of the three lists Lightning Roulette by name in its published app information, so this page shows you how to check, where the game is publicly confirmed, and what its changed payouts mean for your money.
Key takeaways
- Our ranked partners don't name Lightning Roulette in their listings; search the live lobby or ask support first.
- Paddy Power and Betfair publish Lightning Roulette game pages, with an RTP of 97.10% to 97.30%.
- Unlucky straight-up wins pay 29:1, not 35:1; Lucky Numbers pay 50x to 500x.
- Expect to lose about £2.70 to £2.90 for every £100 staked over the long run.
- 18+. Welcome bonuses rarely count fully on live roulette, so read the terms.

Best apps for Lightning Roulette: the short version
For a ranked pick, we put Casumo first, 10bet second and Coral third. All three are licensed by the Gambling Commission and list live casino in their app descriptions, and Coral's listing names roulette directly.
We should be clear about the limit of that ranking: none of these apps names Lightning Roulette in its App Store or Google Play text, or on the help pages we checked. The two UK brands where the game is publicly confirmed, Paddy Power and Betfair, are covered further down as apps worth knowing. For any app, a lobby search takes seconds and settles the question.
New to the game? Our Lightning Roulette app guide covers the rules in full, and the general roulette apps ranking compares apps for every version of the wheel.
How Lightning Roulette pays: 29:1 and the Lucky Numbers
Lightning Roulette is Evolution's live roulette with a twist, launched in 2018 and played on a single-zero wheel numbered 0 to 36. The ball is spun by an automatic wheel. After betting closes, the presenter pulls a lever that strikes one to five Lucky Numbers, each given a multiplier between 50x and 500x.
To pay for those multipliers, a straight-up win on a number that wasn't struck pays 29:1 instead of the usual 35:1, according to Evolution's Lightning Roulette page (opens in a new tab). Only straight-up bets on a winning Lucky Number get the multiplier; splits, corners, red or black, dozens and the other bets pay exactly as in standard roulette.
| Bet | Standard European roulette | Lightning Roulette | Return on a £1 winning bet (Lightning) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Straight up, not a Lucky Number | 35:1 | 29:1 | £30 including stake |
| Straight up on a Lucky Number | 35:1 | 50x to 500x | Paid at the struck multiplier |
| Split, corner, street and other inside bets | Standard | Unchanged | As standard |
| Red/black, odd/even, high/low | 1:1 | 1:1 | £2 including stake |
| Dozens and columns | 2:1 | 2:1 | £3 including stake |
The trade-off is plain: most straight-up wins return £30 for £1 rather than £36, and a few return far more. Our roulette bets guide explains every bet on a phone layout, and multipliers are defined in the glossary.
Live or First Person Lightning Roulette on mobile
Lightning Roulette comes in more than one form, and an app may carry one, some or none of them.
| Version | How results are made | Lucky Numbers and multipliers | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lightning Roulette (live) | Physical single-zero wheel, ball spun automatically | 1 to 5 per round, 50x–500x | Presenter-led, streamed live |
| First Person Lightning Roulette | Random number generator with 3D animation | 1 to 5 per round, 50x–500x | A Go Live button moves you to the live table |
| XXXtreme Lightning Roulette (live) | Physical wheel | 1 to 5 Lightning Numbers, Chain Lightning up to 10 spots, Double Strike 600x–2,000x | Announced by Evolution on 25 May 2022 |
The First Person version (opens in a new tab) is an RNG game, so it doesn't need a video stream, which can help on a weak signal. Under the Commission's technical standards, RNG results must be acceptably random. Read more on First Person games on mobile and the XXXtreme Lightning Roulette guide.
How we chose the best Lightning Roulette apps
We rank only partner apps, as on every page in our best casino apps section, and only from published facts. For a live roulette game, our order of priorities was:
- Live casino or roulette named in the app's store listing.
- Compatibility: the oldest iOS version supported and the devices listed.
- How fast and how cheaply winnings reach you.
- Support that can help with a disconnected round.
- Safer-gambling controls in the app.
1. Casumo: the widest device support of our three
Casumo leads because more phones can run it. The iPhone app needs only iOS 15.0 or later, and Apple lists it for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Macs with Apple M1 or later and Apple Vision. At 52.5 MB it's also half the size of the other two apps here. On Android, the Google Play title is "Casumo - Live Casino & Slots".
On payments, Casumo sets a £10 minimum deposit for every method and lists Apple Pay among its options. Card withdrawals take up to 2 days and bank transfers up to 5, while e-wallets and Apple Pay are paid instantly once approved. Watch out for the £3 fee on withdrawals under £10.
Two honest weak spots: the iOS app is a combined casino and sports betting app, and its privacy label lists identifiers, usage data and diagnostics as used to track you. Recro Limited has held its Gambling Commission casino licence (account 61549) since 21 December 2023. Rated 4.2/5. More in our Casumo iOS app guide.
2. 10bet: the longest-licensed operator with in-app limits
10bet's licence holder, Blue Star Planet Limited (account 43173), has held its Gambling Commission casino licence since 17 December 2015, the longest of our three. The app's store description states that deposit limits, breaks and self-exclusion sit in your account settings, useful for a game where rounds come round quickly.
It's one combined app, "10bet: Sports Betting & Casino", on both stores: iOS 16.0 or later, 112.3 MB, and no Mac version listed. The descriptions mention live casino tables alongside the slots. Withdrawals to debit cards and e-wallets take up to 2 business days and bank transfers up to 3, according to its help centre.
It is also the only one of the three to publish a phone line, open 08:00 to 23:00 daily. The overall score is the lowest here, Rated 3.8/5, reflecting a sportsbook-first app and unpublished withdrawal fees. Read our 10bet app review.
3. Coral: roulette named in a dedicated casino app
Coral's listing is the only one of our three to name roulette as well as Live Casino, and "Coral Casino: Slots & Games" is a casino-only app kept apart from the Coral sportsbook. That makes it the most focused of the three, and it has our top overall score, Rated 4.3/5.
It ranks third here for one reason: it needs iOS 18.0 or later, which rules out older iPhones that run the other two. It is 101.6 MB and also listed for Apple silicon Macs and Apple Vision. Coral accepts Pay by Bank and Google Pay from £5, caps single deposits at £2,000 and charges no withdrawal fees.
Coral and Ladbrokes share a licence holder, LC International Limited (Entain), account 54743. Our Coral iPhone app page has the device detail.

Lightning Roulette RTP: the cost per £100 staked
Evolution's public pages don't give an RTP for Lightning Roulette, but UK operator game pages from Paddy Power and Betfair list 97.10% to 97.30%. That's a house edge of 2.70% to 2.90%. Because even-money and other outside bets pay exactly as on a standard single-zero wheel, they carry the usual 2.70% edge, the figure Wizard of Odds (opens in a new tab) gives for European roulette.
| Total staked | At 97.30% RTP | At 97.10% RTP |
|---|---|---|
| £20 | 54p | 58p |
| £50 | £1.35 | £1.45 |
| £100 | £2.70 | £2.90 |
| £250 | £6.75 | £7.25 |
Which bets sit at which end of the range isn't broken down on the pages we rely on, so check the help screen in your app. Either way, Lightning Roulette costs much the same as standard European roulette over time; it just concentrates more of the return into rare straight-up wins. See our house edge glossary entry for the idea behind these numbers.
Do betting systems work on Lightning Roulette?
No. Martingale, Fibonacci, d'Alembert and similar systems change how much you stake and when, but not the house edge on each bet. Wizard of Odds ran long simulations of these systems on roulette and found losses in line with the edge every time; its page on the truth about betting systems (opens in a new tab) sets out the results.
Doubling after losses is especially risky here, because table limits and fast losing runs arrive sooner than people expect. The chance of losing eight even-money bets in a row on a single-zero wheel is about 1 in 207, and when it happens a Martingale player starting at £1 has lost £255. Lucky Numbers are random each round, so tracking which numbers were struck before doesn't help.
Where Lightning Roulette is confirmed: other UK apps worth knowing
We have no offer with the brands below and don't rank them, but their own game pages confirm Lightning Roulette, which our partners' published information doesn't.
- Paddy Power Games: Paddy Power's Lightning Roulette game page lists an RTP of 97.10% to 97.30%. Its standalone casino app, "Paddy Power Games", needs iOS 15.0 or later and is 150.4 MB. Owner: Flutter Entertainment. See our Paddy Power Games review.
- Betfair Casino: Betfair publishes pages for First Person Lightning Roulette (97.10% to 97.30%) and First Person XXXtreme Lightning Roulette (97.30%, with a 0.20 minimum stake). The only Betfair casino app we found on the UK App Store, "Betfair Live Casino", lists iOS 9.0 and may be a legacy listing, so check how Betfair currently offers casino on mobile. See our Betfair Casino review.
Both brands belong to Flutter, and in December 2025 four of its licensees trading as Betfair and Paddy Power made a £2,000,000 payment in lieu of a financial penalty for customer interaction failures. For other places to look, our answer to which casino apps have Lightning Roulette is updated as lobbies change.
UK rules for Lightning Roulette on your phone
- Five-second minimum: casino games other than slots must allow at least 5 seconds between game cycles, in force since 17 January 2025.
- No autoplay for any online casino game, live roulette included; a re-bet button is allowed.
- One game at a time: no playing a roulette table and a slot together.
- Spend on screen: net spend and time played must be shown in real time.
- No slot stake limits: the £5 and £2 caps apply only to online slots. Roulette uses the table's own limits.
The detail is in the Commission's RTS 14 responsible product design (opens in a new tab) standard, which we summarise in our game speed rules page.
Checking an app for Lightning Roulette before you sign up
- Download the app from the App Store or Google Play under its exact listed name; never install a casino APK from a website.
- Create your account and complete age and identity checks, which UK law requires before any play.
- When asked, set a deposit limit; you can lower it at any time.
- Go to Live Casino, then Roulette, and search for "Lightning".
- Check whether the table is the live version, First Person or XXXtreme, and read its help screen for payouts and RTP.
- If it isn't there, ask support whether it's offered on the app or only on the website.
If your stream drops mid-spin, our guide to what happens to a bet if your app crashes explains how rounds are usually settled. If you'd rather not gamble at all for a while, GAMSTOP (opens in a new tab) self-exclusion covers every UK-licensed app.
Welcome offers on our Lightning Roulette picks
We don't have a Lightning Roulette offer. The three below are general welcome offers on our ranked apps; most of their value is on slots, and live roulette is often excluded or counts for less. 18+ and terms apply.
| App | Offer | Key terms |
|---|---|---|
| Casumo | 50% bonus up to £100 | New customers, opt-in; first deposit of £20 or more; wager the bonus 10x within 7 days; £5 maximum bet while it's active; game, play and payment restrictions |
| 10bet | 100% bonus up to £25 | New UK customers; pick the casino bonus at sign-up and deposit within 7 days; wager 10x on slots within 3 days; bonus winnings capped at £1,000; Skrill and Neteller excluded |
| Coral | Bet £10 on slots, get 100 free spins | New players, 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027; deposit (some types excluded) and bet £10+ on slots; 10p spins on selected games; accept within 48 hours, use within 7 days; no wagering on winnings; Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid and certain debit cards excluded |
What the bonuses mean in practice: a £100 Casumo deposit gives a £50 bonus that must be wagered £500 (10 × £50) within 7 days; 10bet's maximum £25 bonus needs £250 of slot wagering within 3 days; Coral's 100 spins are worth £10 at face value. None of that changes the house edge.

Frequently asked questions
Which app is best for Lightning Roulette?
Among our partners, Casumo is our top pick for Lightning Roulette, followed by 10bet and Coral, mainly on device support and payouts. None of them names the game in its listing, so search the live lobby first. Paddy Power and Betfair publish Lightning Roulette game pages. See our Casumo app review and which apps have Lightning Roulette.
What is the RTP of Lightning Roulette?
UK operator game pages from Paddy Power and Betfair list Lightning Roulette's RTP as 97.10% to 97.30%. That's a house edge of 2.70% to 2.90%, or £2.70 to £2.90 lost on average for every £100 staked. Evolution's own pages don't publish a figure, so check the help screen in your app. Our RTP glossary entry explains the term.
Why does Lightning Roulette pay 29 to 1?
The lower 29:1 payout on ordinary straight-up wins funds the 50x to 500x multipliers on Lucky Numbers. Standard European roulette pays 35:1, so a £1 winning straight-up bet returns £30 rather than £36 unless the number was struck. Other bets pay the same as normal roulette. Our European roulette on mobile guide covers standard payouts.
Is Lightning Roulette live or RNG?
Both exist. Standard Lightning Roulette is live, using a physical single-zero wheel with the ball spun automatically and a presenter generating Lucky Numbers. First Person Lightning Roulette is Evolution's RNG version with the same 50x to 500x multipliers. Check which one your app offers. Our live roulette on mobile guide explains the live side.
How many numbers get struck by lightning each round?
Each round has between one and five Lucky Numbers, struck after betting closes, with multipliers from 50x to 500x. Only a straight-up bet on the winning Lucky Number receives the multiplier. XXXtreme Lightning Roulette adds Chain Lightning for up to ten lucky spots and Double Strike multipliers up to 2,000x. See our XXXtreme Lightning Roulette guide.
Can I use a welcome bonus on Lightning Roulette?
Usually only partly, if at all. Welcome bonuses are built mainly for slots, and live roulette is often excluded or counts for less towards wagering. 10bet's bonus is wagered on slots, Coral's spins are for selected slots, and Casumo applies game restrictions. 18+, terms apply. Our guide to reading casino app bonus terms shows what to look for.
Is there a winning strategy for Lightning Roulette?
No. Every bet has a built-in house edge of roughly 2.70% to 2.90%, and no betting system or number-tracking method changes it. Systems like Martingale only change how fast you stake and can lead to large losses or table limits. Set a budget and stick to it. Our roulette app guide explains the odds of each bet.
Do stake limits apply to Lightning Roulette in the UK?
No. The UK's £5 and £2 per spin limits apply only to online slots, so Lightning Roulette uses the table's own minimum and maximum bets. Other rules do apply, including the autoplay ban, the five-second minimum game cycle and real-time display of net spend. Our autoplay ban explainer covers the 2025 rules.
