The Coral Casino app is safe and legit in the sense that matters most: it is run by LC International Limited, an Entain company holding an active Gambling Commission licence (account 54743). That doesn’t make it flawless. Its owner paid a record £17 million settlement in 2022, and the iPhone privacy label shows tracking, so here is the full picture.

Key takeaways

  • Coral is a trading name of LC International Limited, licensed by the Gambling Commission under account 54743.

Is the Coral Casino app safe and legit? The short answer

Yes, the Coral Casino app is a legitimate, UK-licensed real-money casino app. The Gambling Commission’s public register lists LC International Limited as the licence holder, with Coral among its trading names, and both the App Store and Google Play carry the app under Entain and LC International names. Our main Coral Casino app review rates the app overall; this page focuses on trust and safety.

“Safe” has several layers, though. A licence means rules on fair games, ID checks, safer-gambling tools and complaints apply. It doesn’t mean the operator has a spotless record, or that the app collects little data. The sections below take each layer in turn so you can judge for yourself, with the house edge still meaning losses are the likely result of playing over time.

Coral’s UK licence: LC International Limited, account 54743

The register entry for LC International Limited (opens in a new tab) shows remote casino, bingo and betting licences active since 1 July 2019. That is the licence that covers the Coral Casino app, the Coral website and the other brands the company runs. A Gibraltar address appears in the Coral site footer, which is normal: the Commission doesn’t require licence holders to be incorporated in Britain, only to hold its licence to serve British customers.

The licence brings the full rulebook with it. That includes age and identity checks before play, a slot stake limit of £5 per spin for over-25s and £2 for 18 to 24-year-olds, no autoplay, and a requirement to show net spend and time in real time. Our explainer on how casino apps are licensed in the UK shows how these rules fit together.

The licence covers Great Britain. Northern Ireland sits outside the Gambling Act 2005, so players there don’t get the same Commission protections; see casino apps in Northern Ireland.

Who owns the Coral app? Entain and its sister brands

Coral belongs to Entain, one of the largest gambling groups in Britain. Apple’s store lists the seller as Entain, with Entain Operations Limited as provider and copyright held by LC International Limited. On Google Play, the developer is LC International Limited itself. You can read about the group in our Entain glossary entry.

The register’s trading names list for account 54743 (opens in a new tab) includes Coral, Ladbrokes, Gala, Foxy and Party. That has two practical effects. One person may not be able to hold new accounts at both Coral and Ladbrokes, and a self-exclusion or block at one Entain brand should be honoured across the others.

Don’t be thrown by the Android package name, com.gala.android.vegas, which you can see in the Google Play web address. Gala is another trading name on the same licence, so the label points to the same company rather than a copycat.

How to check you have the genuine Coral Casino app

Fake gambling apps exist, and they rely on people searching quickly and tapping the first result. These checks take a minute and match what the official listings show.

  1. Search the App Store or Google Play rather than following a link from a text message or social media post.
  2. On iPhone, look for “Coral Casino: Slots & Games”, sold by Entain and rated 18+. On Android, look for “Coral™ Casino: Slots & Games” from LC International Limited, rated PEGI 18.
  3. Check the iPhone requirement: iOS 18.0 or later, with a download of about 101.6 MB.
  4. Search the Gambling Commission register for “Coral” and confirm it appears as a trading name of LC International Limited.
  5. After installing, check that the licence details shown in the app or site footer match the register.
  6. Don’t install a casino APK from a website or a message; our guide to casino APK safety explains why.

If something doesn’t match, stop and read our guide to fake casino apps and scams.

Coral’s regulatory history: the £17 million Entain settlement

Being legit is not the same as never being fined. On 17 August 2022 the Gambling Commission announced that Entain would pay £17 million for regulatory failures, the regulator’s largest enforcement outcome at the time. Of that, £14 million came from LC International Limited, the online business that runs Coral, and £3 million from Ladbrokes Betting & Gaming Limited, the high-street shops.

The Commission’s announcement of the Entain settlement (opens in a new tab) gives examples. One online customer gambled overnight for 18 months, deposited £230,845 and had a single chat interaction. A customer blocked by Coral was able to open a Ladbrokes account and deposit £30,000 in one day. On money laundering, one customer deposited £742,000 in 14 months without sufficient source-of-funds checks.

Ladbrokes Betting & Gaming Limited (shops)£3 million

WarningThe Commission said further serious breaches could lead to licence removal

The Commission noted this was the operator’s second breach of these rules. For a player, the practical result is tighter checks: expect Coral to ask about source of funds on larger deposits and to step in on signs of harm. Our page on customer interaction rules explains what operators must now do.

Coral Casino app privacy label: what the app collects

Apple’s privacy label is the clearest view of what an app collects. For the Coral Casino app it shows a lot of data linked to your identity, which is expected for a regulated money app, plus some tracking, which is a choice.

Coral Casino iPhone app privacy label
CategoryData types listed
Used to track youUser Content, Usage Data
Linked to youLocation (coarse), Contact Info, User Content, Search History, Usage Data, Financial Info, Identifiers
Not linked to youDiagnostics

For comparison, the Ladbrokes Casino app label, from the same group, shows no tracking category. On iPhone you can refuse tracking when the app asks, or later in your phone’s privacy settings. Our guide on how to read a casino app privacy label explains each category.

The Google Play data safety section, when last checked, reportedly said no data is shared or collected, with data encrypted in transit and deletion available on request. That sits oddly against the iPhone label, so check the current Play listing before relying on it.

Is your money safe with the Coral app?

Several rules protect the money side. Credit cards have been banned for gambling since 14 April 2020, and Coral’s help centre lists debit cards, PayPal, Pay by Bank, Apple Pay, Google Pay and paysafecard for deposits, with a cap of £2,000 per deposit. It says Coral doesn’t charge withdrawal fees and uses a closed-loop policy, paying money back to the method it came from.

Withdrawals go through internal approval by a review team, then take from instantly to five banking days depending on the method, according to Coral’s withdrawal timeframes page (opens in a new tab). UK rules stop you reversing a withdrawal once requested. One thing to check yourself is the customer funds protection rating in Coral’s terms, which UK operators must state; our customer funds explainer shows what each rating means.

Are the games in the Coral app fair?

Licensed online games must use random outcomes and can’t be adjusted mid-session to hit a target return. Game rules and the return to player (RTP) must be available before you play, so open the game’s help screen to see the figure for the version in front of you. There is no rule that apps pay less than websites; that belief is a myth, covered in our answer on whether RTP is lower on casino apps.

Fair doesn’t mean favourable. Every casino game has a house edge, so the expected cost of a session is your total stakes multiplied by that edge. At £1 a spin on a slot with a 96% RTP, 200 spins means £200 staked and an expected loss of about £8, though any single session can land far above or below that.

Keeping your Coral account secure on your phone

The operator’s licence covers its systems; your phone and password are up to you. The App Store listing doesn’t mention Face ID or Touch ID, so don’t assume biometric login is available. These habits help on any casino app.

  • Keep iOS or Android and the app updated; the National Cyber Security Centre advises installing updates as soon as they’re available.
  • Use a unique, long password; our guide to a strong casino password has ideas.
  • Turn on two-step verification (opens in a new tab) wherever an account offers it, and protect your email account with it too.
  • Avoid logging in on public Wi-Fi when you can use mobile data instead.
  • Lock your phone with a PIN or biometrics so nobody else can open the app.

Coral and Ladbrokes offers from the same licence holder

Both apps on this page are run by LC International Limited, so the safety picture above applies to each. Coral’s welcome offer, for new players aged 18+ between 1 October 2026 and 1 February 2027, gives 100 free spins when you deposit and bet £10 or more on slots; spins are worth 10p each on selected games, must be accepted within 48 hours and used within 7 days, and winnings carry no wagering. Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don’t qualify; terms apply.

Ladbrokes gives new customers aged 18+ up to 500 free spins for spending £10 or more on slots: 50 a day for the first 10 days, 10p each on selected games, claimed before 23:59 each day and valid for 7 days, with no wagering. Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers deposits are excluded; terms apply. Because the brands share a licence holder, one person may not be able to open new accounts at both. Weigh up licences and track records across more apps in our list of the safest UK casino apps.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Coral Casino app legit?

Yes. The Coral Casino app is run by LC International Limited, which holds active Gambling Commission licences under account 54743, and Coral appears on the register as one of its trading names. The app is listed on the App Store under Entain and on Google Play under LC International Limited. For a fuller verdict on the app itself, see our Coral Casino app review, and our answer to is the Coral Casino app safe.

Who owns the Coral Casino app?

Entain owns Coral. The licence holder and operator is LC International Limited, an Entain company that also runs Ladbrokes, Gala, Foxy and Party under the same Gambling Commission account. Its iPhone listing names Entain as the seller, with Entain Operations Limited as provider. Our Entain glossary entry explains the group, and our Coral vs Ladbrokes comparison looks at how the two sister apps differ in practice.

Has Coral ever been fined?

Yes, through its owner. In August 2022 the Gambling Commission announced Entain would pay £17 million for social responsibility and anti-money-laundering failures, with £14 million from LC International Limited, the company behind Coral online. Examples included weak checks on large deposits and slow contact with customers showing signs of harm. Our page on UK customer interaction rules explains the standards operators must now meet, and how to complain about a casino app covers your options.

Does the Coral app track me?

On iPhone, the App Store privacy label lists User Content and Usage Data as used to track you, so the app may ask permission to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. You can say no, and you can change your answer later in your phone’s privacy settings. The label also lists coarse location as linked to you. Our guide on how casino apps use your data and our privacy label glossary entry explain the terms.

Is it safe to put my card details in the Coral app?

Using a debit card with a licensed operator like Coral is normal, and credit cards are banned for gambling in Great Britain. Coral’s help centre also lists Apple Pay and Google Pay, which avoid sharing your card number with the app. Keep your phone locked and the app updated. Our answer on saving your card in a casino app and the Coral payments page go into more detail.

How do I check the Coral app’s licence myself?

Search the Gambling Commission’s public register for “Coral” or account number 54743. The entry should show LC International Limited with active remote licences and Coral among its trading names. Then check the App Store or Google Play listing shows Entain or LC International as publisher. Our answer on how to know a casino app is licensed walks through the register search step by step for any brand.

Is the Coral Casino app safe on Android?

The official Android app, “Coral™ Casino: Slots & Games”, is published on Google Play by LC International Limited with a PEGI 18 rating, and Google requires real-money gambling apps to hold a valid licence for each country they serve. Install it from Google Play rather than an APK link, keep Play Protect switched on and update the app regularly. Our Coral Android app page covers installation and the Google Play rules for casino apps.

Can I complain about Coral if something goes wrong?

Yes. Start with Coral’s own complaints process. If the issue isn’t resolved within 8 weeks, a UK licensed operator must offer to refer you to an independent alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider, which is free for players. The Gambling Commission doesn’t settle individual complaints but does want to hear about rule breaches. Our Coral customer support guide covers the contact options, and complaints and ADR explains the rules.
