Reactoonz 2 slot review
The Reactoonz 2 slot is Play’n GO’s 2020 sequel to its alien cluster game: a 7×7 grid where groups of five or more matching symbols pay, wins cascade away, and two meters, the Quantumeter and the Fluctometer, turn wilds into bigger and bigger helpers. The top RTP version is 96.2%, volatility is high and the maximum win is 5,083× stake.

Reactoonz 2 slot in one minute
Reactoonz 2 keeps the idea that made the original Reactoonz popular: no reels in the usual sense, just a 7×7 grid of 49 cartoon aliens, and wins made from clusters rather than lines. What changes is the set of power-ups. The sequel is built around wilds that charge up and two meters that reward long cascade chains.
It’s a cluster pays game, so you need five or more matching symbols touching each other to win. Each win disappears and new symbols fall into the gaps, which can create further wins from a single paid spin. Our slot reviews hub has more games with cascading grids.

How the features work: wilds, Quantumeter and Fluctometer
The features build on each other, so it helps to take them in order from the smallest to the largest.
Cascades
Every winning cluster is paid and then removed. Symbols above drop down and new ones fill the empty spaces. If that creates a fresh cluster, it pays too, and the process repeats until no new win forms.
Uncharged and Electric wilds
Wilds start out uncharged. When a winning cluster lands next to one, it becomes an Electric wild. Electric wilds are what drive the rest of the game, because they’re the fuel for the Quantumeter.
The Quantumeter
Electric wilds charge the Quantumeter. As it climbs, its higher levels add bigger wild symbols to the grid: large Energoon wilds or, at the top, a 3×3 Gargantoon wild. A 3×3 wild covers nine positions at once, which makes new clusters much more likely on the cascades that follow.
The Fluctometer
The second meter runs alongside. It’s charged by fluctuating symbols that appear in winning clusters. When it pays off, it can award extra Electric wilds, which in turn feed the Quantumeter. So the two meters can reinforce each other during a long chain.
| Step | What triggers it | What it gives |
|---|---|---|
| Cascade | Any winning cluster | Removed symbols are replaced; more wins possible |
| Electric wild | Winning cluster next to an uncharged wild | A charged wild that fills the Quantumeter |
| Quantumeter (higher levels) | Electric wilds | Energoon wilds or a 3×3 Gargantoon wild |
| Fluctometer | Fluctuating symbols in winning clusters | Can add extra Electric wilds |
Reactoonz 2 RTP: why ‘top version’ matters
The 96.2% figure is the highest RTP version of Reactoonz 2. When a studio offers a top version, it usually means casinos can choose from lower settings too, so the number in your app may be different. Always check before you play.
The difference is easy to put in pounds. Each percentage point of RTP is £1 per £100 staked. At 96.2%, average losses are £3.80 per £100; a version one point lower would cost £4.80 per £100, and two points lower £5.80. Over a long session that adds up.
- Open Reactoonz 2 in your casino app.
- Tap the menu or information icon inside the game.
- Look for the rules or help page, which normally states the theoretical return.
- If you can’t find it, ask the casino’s live chat which version it runs.
- Compare with our guide to finding a game’s RTP in an app.
The Gambling Commission’s RTS 14 standard on responsible product design (opens in a new tab) covers how British slots must behave, and our page on RTP information rules explains what casinos must tell you.
Reactoonz 2 on a £20 budget: spins and average cost
High volatility means the average tells you little about one session, but it’s still the honest starting point. Using the top 96.2% RTP:
| Stake | Paid spins from £20 | Average loss if £20 is staked once | Average loss per hour at 400 spins |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10p | 200 | 76p | £1.52 |
| 50p | 40 | 76p | £7.60 |
| £1 | 20 | 76p | £15.20 |
The hourly column assumes 400 paid spins an hour. A cascading game takes longer per spin when chains run, so the real figure depends on how you play. The rule that makes the arithmetic work is stake × spins × 3.8%.
The grid only comes alive when wilds start charging, and that tends to happen in streaks. At £1 a spin, 20 spins may not show you a single Quantumeter level. A smaller stake gives you more spins to see what the game does, at the same average cost per pound staked.
Gambling is entertainment that costs money. Set a deposit limit before you start and treat your budget as spent.
Reactoonz 2 max win: 5,083× in context
The top prize is 5,083× stake. In pounds that’s £508.30 on 10p, £5,083 on £1 and £25,415 at the £5 UK maximum. The sequel’s ceiling is a little higher than the original Reactoonz (4,570×) and the related Gigantoonz (4,000×).
Results anywhere near the cap need a long cascade chain with a high Quantumeter level, so they’re rare. Plan around ordinary outcomes, not the ceiling.
Playing Reactoonz 2 on iPhone and Android
Reactoonz 2 is an HTML5 game that runs in casino apps and mobile browsers. A 7×7 grid has 49 small symbols, and clusters can snake around the board, so screen size makes a real difference to how easy it is to follow. We haven’t verified which orientations this build supports; try both to see which suits you.
- On a phone, the meters at the edge of the grid are small. A tablet or iPad makes them easier to track.
- Cascading games show a lot of animation. If you’re on mobile data, our guide to casino app data usage explains what to expect.
- Use the official App Store or Google Play listing from a UK-licensed casino; see how to download a casino app on iPhone.
British slots can’t offer turbo or slam-stop, so a long chain will take its time. That’s by design under the rules below.
UK rules for Reactoonz 2 in casino apps
| Rule | Date | What you’ll notice |
|---|---|---|
| £5 stake limit per spin (25 and over) | 9 April 2025 | Highest stake available is £5 |
| £2 stake limit per spin (18 to 24) | 21 May 2025 | Lower cap for younger adults |
| No autoplay; 2.5-second minimum per spin | 31 October 2021 | Each spin needs a tap and runs at a set pace |
| No turbo or slam-stop | 31 October 2021 | You can’t skip the cascade animations |
| No celebrating returns at or below stake | 31 October 2021 | No fanfare for wins that don’t beat your stake |
| Feature buy-ins | January 2020 warning | Not offered to British players |
Since a Gambling Commission warning in January 2020, feature buy-ins are not offered to British players; the Commission’s games warning for online operators (opens in a new tab) set out its concerns. Our pages on game design rules and slot stake limits on mobile cover the details.
Who makes Reactoonz 2? Play’n GO
Play’n GO is an independent, privately held studio based in Växjö, Sweden. It built its first gaming product in 1997 and now has a library of several hundred games. It’s best known for Book of Dead, Reactoonz and Legacy of Dead, and for its recurring adventurer character, Rich Wilde.
Reactoonz 2 sits in its family of grid games alongside Gemix and Viking Runecraft, both also played on a 7×7 grid. A Reactoonz 2 game guide (opens in a new tab) describes the same wild and meter system.
Reactoonz 2 vs Reactoonz and Gigantoonz
| Slot | RTP | Volatility | Grid | Max win |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Reactoonz 2 | 96.2% (top version) | High | 7 × 7 | 5,083× |
| Reactoonz | 96.51% | High | 7 × 7 | 4,570× |
| Gigantoonz | 96.25% (top version) | High | 8 × 8 | 4,000× |
On paper, the original has the higher RTP and the sequel the higher ceiling. Gigantoonz uses a bigger 8×8 grid. All three are high volatility, so the choice comes down to which feature set you find more fun to watch.
Reactoonz 2 review verdict
Reactoonz 2 is busy, colourful and built on chain reactions. If you like watching a grid evolve, it delivers. If you want simple line wins and a clear free spins round, it isn’t the right game.
Advantages
- Two meters that can feed each other during long cascades
- 3×3 Gargantoon wild at the top of the Quantumeter
- Higher max win than the original Reactoonz
- From a long-established independent studio
Drawbacks
- 96.2% is the top version; your casino may run a lower one
- High volatility: features can take a long time to build
- 49 small symbols are hard to follow on a small phone
- Lots of mechanics to learn before it makes sense

Frequently asked questions
What is the RTP of Reactoonz 2?
The top RTP version of Reactoonz 2 is 96.2%, a 3.8% house edge. Because that’s the top version, casinos may run lower settings, so check the game’s rules screen in your app. Each percentage point lower adds £1 to the average cost per £100 staked. Our explainer on RTP on mobile covers why apps and websites from the same casino should match.
How does the Quantumeter work in Reactoonz 2?
The Quantumeter is charged by Electric wilds. A wild becomes Electric when a winning cluster lands next to it, and each Electric wild pushes the meter up. At its higher levels, the Quantumeter adds big wild symbols to the grid: large Energoon wilds or a 3×3 Gargantoon wild that covers nine positions. Exact thresholds are in the game’s paytable. Our cluster pays glossary entry explains how the wins themselves form.
What does the Fluctometer do?
The Fluctometer is the second meter in Reactoonz 2, and it can award extra Electric wilds. It charges when fluctuating symbols appear in winning clusters. Because Electric wilds also fill the Quantumeter, the Fluctometer can help push the bigger meter towards its top levels during a long cascade. Check the in-game rules for the full details. Our Reactoonz review shows how the original game handled its meter.
What is the max win on Reactoonz 2?
The maximum win is 5,083× your stake. That’s £508.30 on a 10p spin, £5,083 on £1 and £25,415 at the UK’s £5 maximum for players aged 25 and over. It’s a little higher than the original Reactoonz at 4,570× and Gigantoonz at 4,000×. Results near the cap are very rare. Our Gigantoonz review covers the 8×8 alternative.
How many symbols do you need for a win in Reactoonz 2?
You need a cluster of five or more matching symbols touching each other on the 7×7 grid. There are no paylines, so the position on the grid doesn’t matter as long as the symbols connect. Winning clusters are removed and replaced from above, which can form new clusters in a cascade. See our mobile slots guide for how cluster games compare with line slots.
Is Reactoonz 2 better than the original?
It depends on what you value. The original Reactoonz has a higher listed RTP at 96.51% against the sequel’s top version of 96.2%, while Reactoonz 2 has a higher ceiling at 5,083× against 4,570× and a more layered meter system. Both are high volatility on a 7×7 grid. If published return matters most, the original edges it. Our Play’n GO provider page lists both.
Can I play Reactoonz 2 on my phone?
Yes, Reactoonz 2 runs in UK casino apps and mobile browsers on iPhone and Android. The 49-position grid and side meters are small on phones, so a larger screen or tablet makes it easier to follow. You’ll need a verified account with a licensed casino to play for real money. Our list of the best slot apps compares apps with large slot lobbies.
Can you buy the bonus in Reactoonz 2 in the UK?
No paid shortcut into features is available to British players. Since a Gambling Commission warning in January 2020, feature buy-ins are not offered to British players, so the meters build only through normal cascades. Reviews written for other countries may mention different options. Our page on why there is no autoplay on UK casino apps covers a related set of design rules.
