Das xBoot slot: a submarine on a diamond-shaped grid
Das xBoot is one of the many Nolimit City games built around the studio’s “x” mechanics. The naval theme runs right through it: Silent Hunter and Wolf Pack bonus rounds, Periscope Wilds and a torpedo that collects symbols.
The grid is unusual. Instead of a rectangle, the six reels show 2, 3, 4, 4, 3 and 2 symbols, making a diamond shape that is tallest in the middle. The Silent Hunter bonus round makes the most of that shape by enlarging the middle reel.

How the features work in Das xBoot
xNudge Wilds
These wilds are four symbols tall. When one lands only partly in view, it nudges into position, and each nudge adds 1 to its multiplier. A wild that has to move a long way therefore ends up worth more when it completes a win.
xBomb Wilds
xBomb Wilds act as wilds and also explode. The explosion clears symbols from the grid so that new ones can fall in, giving the spin another chance to form wins at no extra cost.
xWays symbols
An xWays symbol opens to reveal several copies of one symbol in its position. That makes its reel count as taller for the spin, which raises the number of ways to win.
Silent Hunter Spins (three scatters)
Three scatters start Silent Hunter Spins. Here, the middle reel is enlarged and Periscope Wilds appear on it. They expand and nudge, and like xNudge Wilds they build their multiplier as they move.
Wolf Pack Spins (four scatters)
Four scatters start Wolf Pack Spins instead. In this round, a torpedo collects xWays symbols along with their multipliers, adding them together.
Das xBoot ways to win: 576 and beyond
Ways are counted by multiplying the number of symbols on each reel. For the base grid, that’s 2 × 3 × 4 × 4 × 3 × 2 = 576. Every time an xWays symbol adds height to a reel, the product grows.
| Reel heights | Calculation | Ways |
|---|---|---|
| 2-3-4-4-3-2 (base) | 2 × 3 × 4 × 4 × 3 × 2 | 576 |
| 2-3-6-4-3-2 | 2 × 3 × 6 × 4 × 3 × 2 | 864 |
| 2-3-6-6-3-2 | 2 × 3 × 6 × 6 × 3 × 2 | 1,296 |
| Game maximum | With xWays across the grid | 75,712 |
The examples are illustrations of the multiplication, not what xWays actually reveal; the game’s rules set the possible sizes. Ways are only potential: a win still needs matching symbols on neighbouring reels from the left. Our megaways and ways guide explains ways games in more depth.
Silent Hunter Spins vs Wolf Pack Spins
The two rounds reward different numbers of scatters and work in different ways. The table sets them side by side using only the verified details.
| Detail | Silent Hunter Spins | Wolf Pack Spins |
|---|---|---|
| Trigger | 3 scatters | 4 scatters |
| Key symbol | Periscope Wilds | Torpedo |
| What it does | Wilds expand and nudge on an enlarged middle reel, building a multiplier | Collects xWays symbols and their multipliers |
| Spin count | See the game’s paytable | See the game’s paytable |
Neither round can be bought in the UK. Since a Gambling Commission warning in January 2020, feature buy-ins are not offered to British players.
Extreme volatility: a £20 Das xBoot session
The default RTP of 96.03% leaves a house edge of 3.97%, so £20 of stakes costs about £0.79 on average. On an extreme game, though, the average hides a very wide spread: much of the return is concentrated in rare bonus rounds with high multipliers.
For a short session that usually means one of two things: the £20 runs out with little coming back, or a bonus round lands and decides the session on its own. Results between those extremes are less common than in steadier games.
| Stake | Spins from £20 if nothing lands | Average loss on £20 staked | 55,200x cap at this stake |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10p | 200 | £0.79 | £5,520 |
| 50p | 40 | £0.79 | £27,600 |
| £1 | 20 | £0.79 | £55,200 |
Low stakes make the most sense here, because they give the scatters far more chances within the same budget. If you want a reminder of time and spend while you play, turn on reality checks in your account.
Playing Das xBoot on iPhone and Android
Nolimit City builds its games in HTML5, so Das xBoot opens inside UK casino apps and mobile browsers. The diamond-shaped grid leaves more empty space than a full rectangle, but xNudge multipliers and xWays reveals are small details on a phone, so a larger screen helps. The app decides whether the game opens in portrait or landscape.
- Choose a UK-licensed casino app and install it from the App Store or Google Play. Our guide on whether casino apps are safe lists what to check.
- Complete the age and identity checks required before you can deposit or play.
- Choose a deposit limit when the app asks, before any money goes in.
- Search the lobby for “xBoot”. If it isn’t listed, the casino doesn’t offer it.
- Open the game’s rules screen, check the RTP and read how many spins each bonus round gives.
- Pick a small stake and start each spin by hand, keeping an eye on the net spend display.
UK rules on Das xBoot
Since 31 October 2021, a few weeks after this game came out, British online slots have run under the design rules described in the Gambling Commission’s online games design consultation response (opens in a new tab):
- no autoplay, so each spin starts with a tap;
- at least 2.5 seconds per spin, with no turbo or slam-stop;
- no celebrating returns equal to or below the stake.
Stake limits arrived in 2025: £5 a spin for players aged 25 and over from 9 April, and £2 for those aged 18 to 24 from 21 May. At £2 the 55,200x cap would be £110,400; at £5, £276,000. The Commission’s games warning (opens in a new tab) of January 2020 is the reason British players don’t see a buy option. Our UK rules section has the details.
Nolimit City, the studio behind Das xBoot
Nolimit City was co-founded by Jonas Tegman, has its registered office in St Julian’s, Malta, and has teams in Sweden, Malta and India. In June 2022, Evolution announced a deal to buy it for up to €340m, of which €200m was upfront and up to €140m in earn-outs.
The studio is known for Mental, San Quentin and Tombstone, and for its family of x mechanics: xWays, xNudge, xSplit and xBomb. Das xBoot uses three of those four.
| Slot | RTP (default) | Volatility | Max win |

| Das xBoot | 96.03% | Extreme | 55,200x |
| San Quentin xWays | 96.03% | Extreme | 150,000x |

Is the Das xBoot slot for you?
Advantages
- Two distinct bonus rounds with different mechanics
- Three x mechanics working together in the base game
- A default RTP of 96.03%, in line with the studio’s other games
- Clear published volatility rating and cap
Drawbacks
- Extreme volatility: long losing runs are normal
- Small multiplier details can be hard to read on phones
- The 55,200x figure can make it look more rewarding than it is
- Bonus spin counts need checking in the paytable
It suits players who already know how extreme slots behave and who use a fixed budget at a low stake. If that sounds uncomfortable, a lower-volatility game from our slots hub is a better fit.

Frequently asked questions
What is the RTP of Das xBoot?
Das xBoot has a default RTP of 96.03%, so the house edge is 3.97%, an average cost of about £3.97 per £100 staked over a very long run. Lower versions of Nolimit City games sometimes exist, so check the information screen in your app for the figure that applies. Our guide on finding a game’s RTP in an app shows where to look.
How do xNudge Wilds work in Das xBoot?
xNudge Wilds are four symbols tall, and when one lands partly out of view it nudges into place, adding 1 to its multiplier with each step. The more it moves, the higher its multiplier when it helps a win. Nolimit City uses xNudge in several games. Our Nolimit City studio page explains the studio’s other x mechanics.
What is the difference between Silent Hunter Spins and Wolf Pack Spins?
Silent Hunter Spins come from three scatters and use Periscope Wilds that expand and nudge on an enlarged middle reel to build their multiplier. Wolf Pack Spins come from four scatters and use a torpedo that collects xWays symbols and their multipliers. The paytable gives each round’s spin count. For how in-game spins differ from offer spins, see our free spins glossary entry.
What is the max win on Das xBoot?
The maximum win is 55,200 times the stake, which is £5,520 at 10p and £55,200 at £1. With extreme volatility, payouts near that ceiling are extremely rare, and most sessions end in a loss. The highest stake in the UK is £5 a spin, or £2 for players aged 18 to 24, as our page on UK slot stake limits explains.
How many ways to win does Das xBoot have?
The base grid has 576 ways, from multiplying its reel heights: 2 × 3 × 4 × 4 × 3 × 2. xWays symbols can make reels taller, raising the total to as many as 75,712 ways. More ways don’t guarantee better returns, because symbols still have to match on neighbouring reels. Our Megaways glossary entry explains how ways counts work in other games.
Is Das xBoot too volatile for a small budget?
It can be, because extreme volatility means a small budget often runs out before a bonus round lands. If you do play, a low stake such as 10p gives 200 spins from £20 instead of 20 at £1, with the same average cost. Set your budget before you start. Our guide to budgeting for casino apps has practical ways to do that.
Can I play Das xBoot on my phone?
Yes, Das xBoot is an HTML5 game that runs in UK casino apps and mobile browsers carrying Nolimit City titles. You only need the casino app itself. Multiplier labels and xWays reveals are small, so a bigger screen helps. Our pages on casino apps for iPhone and Android phones cover safe installation and useful settings.
Can you buy the bonus in Das xBoot in the UK?
No. Since a Gambling Commission warning in January 2020, feature buy-ins are not offered to British players, so Silent Hunter Spins and Wolf Pack Spins can only come from landing scatters. If you’ve seen a buy option in a video, it was filmed outside Great Britain. Our game design rules page covers this and the other UK slot rules.
