Do casino apps pay out?
Do casino apps pay out? Yes. Licensed UK casino apps must let you withdraw your balance without unreasonable delay, can't make you take it in instalments and can't offer to cancel a withdrawal once you've asked for it. Most payout problems trace back to unfinished ID checks, bonus terms or payment method rules, all of which you can sort before you request.
Key takeaways
- Gambling Commission rules give you the right to withdraw without unreasonable delay or instalments.
- Withdrawals usually go back to the method you deposited with, so choose that method carefully.
- Unfinished verification and active bonuses are the most common reasons a payout waits.
- If a licensed app won't pay, complain to it first, then take the dispute to a free ADR service after 8 weeks.
- Reverse withdrawals
- Banned since 31 October 2021
- Complaint deadline
- 8 weeks for the operator
- Dispute service
- Free ADR after that
- Coral and Ladbrokes fees
- None on withdrawals

Do casino apps pay out? Yes, and the rules say they must
A licensed casino app pays out real winnings to your chosen payment method, just as the operator's website does. The app is only a different front door to the same account and the same cashier.
What makes that reliable is regulation rather than goodwill. The Gambling Commission sets out what licensees can and can't do with your money, and it has fined operators whose terms gave them too much freedom to hold on to it. Unlicensed apps sit outside all of this, which is where genuine non-payment stories tend to come from.
Below you'll find your rights, how a payout moves from app to bank, the reasons one might pause and what to do if it stalls. More answers are in our questions hub.
Your payout rights on a UK casino app
The Commission's guidance for players who can't withdraw their winnings (opens in a new tab) and its technical standards add up to a clear set of protections:
| Your right | What it means in the app |
|---|---|
| Withdraw at any time | No unreasonable delay or restriction, and no forcing you to withdraw in instalments |
| No reverse withdrawals | Once you request a withdrawal you can't be offered the option to cancel it or deposit it back |
| No confiscation over deadlines | Money can't be taken because you didn't log in or verify within a time limit |
| ID asked at the right time | Proof of age or identity can't be made a withdrawal condition if it could have been asked earlier |
| Fair terms | Terms letting an operator forfeit winnings at its own discretion are treated as unfair |
The reverse-withdrawal ban has applied to every remote operator since 31 October 2021, and the Commission's decision on reverse withdrawals (opens in a new tab) explains why. On unfair terms, Taichi Tech, which ran Fafabet, was fined £170,000 in July 2025, partly for a term allowing it to close accounts or forfeit winnings at its discretion. See the reverse withdrawal ban and can I cancel a withdrawal in a casino app? for more.
How a casino app payout works, step by step
- Finish identity verification as soon as you open the account, rather than waiting until you want to withdraw.
- Check whether a bonus is active, because wagering may need completing or the bonus may be forfeited on withdrawal.
- Open the cashier or withdrawal option in the app and choose a method; usually this is the one you deposited with.
- Enter the amount, keeping any minimum or fee threshold in mind.
- Wait for the operator's internal approval, which is a separate stage from the payment itself.
- Once approved, allow for the payment method's own transfer time before the money reaches your account.
Coral's help pages describe exactly this two-stage pattern: a review team approves the request, then payment takes from instantly to five banking days depending on the method, with those timeframes on top of internal processing. The Coral withdrawal timeframes page (opens in a new tab) has the detail. Our guide to withdrawing from a casino app covers each step more fully.
Payout policies at five UK casino apps
Each operator publishes its own process. Here is what their help pages say about processing, minimums and fees. Where a figure isn't published, check the app's cashier.
| App | Processing | Minimum withdrawal | Withdrawal fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coral | Team approval, then instantly to 5 banking days by method | £5 on Fast Bank Transfer and Google Pay | None |
| Ladbrokes | Team approval, then instantly to 5 banking days by method | £5 on Fast Bank Transfer and Google Pay | None |
| PlayOJO | Most payments processed within a few hours | As little as you want | Not published |
| Casumo | Reviewed within hours; approved or denied within 3 days | Not published | £3 below £10; none from £10 |
| 10bet | Up to 2 business days (cards, e-wallets), up to 3 (bank) | Not published | Not published |

Where a casino app pays your winnings
Most operators run a closed-loop policy: money goes back the way it came in. That protects against fraud and money laundering, but it can catch you out if you deposited with something that can't receive payouts.
The Entain-run brands give specific examples. A PayPal withdrawal needs a PayPal deposit within the last six months, Google Pay withdrawals are paid to the card behind it, and paysafecard withdrawals need a previous paysafecard deposit. Their Fast Bank Transfer option works for withdrawals only. PlayOJO says withdrawals go back to the deposit method where possible. If you plan to use an e-wallet for payouts, deposit with it first. Our page on payment methods in casino apps compares the options.
Why a casino app payout might be held up
- Verification isn't finished. PlayOJO says documents may be requested after your first withdrawal request and aims to verify within 12 hours, asking you to contact support if you hear nothing in 48.
- A bonus is still active. 10bet's help centre says withdrawing before its welcome bonus wagering is complete forfeits the bonus and any winnings from it.
- The amount is large. Both Coral and Ladbrokes say Visa payouts over £2,000 take longer than their usual fast route.
- The method can't receive funds. Some deposit routes aren't available for withdrawals, so the operator may ask for another method.
- Safer-gambling or financial checks are due. Since 28 February 2025, operators run a light financial vulnerability check when net deposits pass £150 in a rolling 30 days.
A pending status isn't a refusal. Our guides on why a casino app withdrawal is pending and casino app verification failed cover what to do at each stage.
How bonuses affect what a casino app pays out
Your own deposited money and bonus money follow different rules. No-wagering offers are the simplest: Coral, Ladbrokes and PlayOJO all pay their welcome spin winnings without any playthrough, so those winnings can be withdrawn like any other cash.
Deposit-match bonuses add conditions. Since 19 January 2026, wagering can't exceed 10x the bonus, which helps, but caps and bet limits still apply. 10bet's welcome bonus, for example, caps bonus winnings at £1,000, and Casumo's limits bets to £5 while its bonus is active. Back in 2018, Ladbrokes was among the operators that gave undertakings to the Competition and Markets Authority that players could withdraw their own money during bonus play. Read reading casino app bonus terms before opting in.
What to do if a casino app doesn't pay out
Start with the operator's own complaints process, which must be published. The business then has 8 weeks to resolve it. If it hasn't, it must offer to refer you to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider, which is free and independent.
ADR providers can refuse late disputes but must allow at least 12 months from the operator's final response. One approved provider, IBAS, says registered companies agree to be bound by its decisions up to £10,000; its page on how to raise a dispute (opens in a new tab) sets out the process. The Commission itself doesn't resolve individual complaints, though its guide to complaining (opens in a new tab) explains each step. See how to complain about a casino app and what is ADR?
Will a casino app pay out if the operator goes bust?
That depends on the protection level the operator declares: not protected, medium or high. With no protection your balance counts as a company asset in an insolvency; high protection means a separate account controlled by an independent trustee. You must acknowledge the level before your first deposit is used. Unpaid winnings count as customer funds. Our page on customer funds protection explains each rating, and withdrawing winnings you don't plan to play with is a sensible habit whichever level applies.
Offshore apps: the real payout risk
Every protection above depends on a Gambling Commission licence. An app with no British licence has no duty to follow the withdrawal rules, no obligation to offer ADR and no regulator you can report it to with any effect. If a casino app can't be matched to an active entry on the Commission's public register, don't deposit. Our answer to are casino apps legal in the UK? shows how to check, and how to spot an unlicensed casino app lists the warning signs.
Licensed casino apps that publish their payout process
The three featured apps publish withdrawal details in their help pages and pay their welcome spin winnings without wagering, which keeps bonus money simple to withdraw. They remain gambling products with a house edge, so losses are likely over time. 18+ and terms apply.
- Coral Casino: new players. Deposit (certain types excluded) and bet £10+ on slots to receive 100 free spins on selected games at 10p each; accept within 48 hours, use within 7 days, no wagering on winnings. Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards are excluded. Runs 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027.
- Ladbrokes Casino: new customers. Deposit and spend £10+ on slots to receive 50 free spins a day for the first 10 days, up to 500, at 10p each on selected games. Claim each batch before 23:59; spins last 7 days; no wagering. Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers don't qualify.
- PlayOJO: new UK customers excluding Northern Ireland. First deposit of £10 or more for 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p each, with winnings paid in cash and no wagering. Not combinable with other offers; claim only via the designated offer link.
Note the payment exclusions: if you deposit with an excluded method, you won't get the spins. Because LC International Limited runs both Coral and Ladbrokes, new accounts at both may not be possible.

Frequently asked questions
Do casino apps actually pay out real money?
Yes, licensed casino apps pay real money to your bank account, debit card or e-wallet. The app uses the same account and cashier as the operator's website, and Gambling Commission rules require withdrawals without unreasonable delay. Problems usually involve unfinished ID checks, bonus conditions or a payment method that can't receive funds. Read can you win real money on casino apps? for the maths behind wins and losses.
How long does it take for a casino app to pay out?
It ranges from a few hours to several working days, depending on the operator and method. PlayOJO says it processes most payments within a few hours. Coral and Ladbrokes approve requests first, then pay instantly to five banking days by method. 10bet quotes up to two business days for cards and e-wallets and three for bank transfers. See how long casino app withdrawals take for more.
Can a casino app refuse to pay my winnings?
A licensed app can delay a payout for legitimate reasons, such as verification or a breach of bonus terms, but it can't confiscate money just because you missed a login or verification deadline. Terms that allow winnings to be forfeited at the operator's discretion are treated as unfair, and the Commission has fined operators over them. If you disagree, complain and then use ADR. See how to complain about a casino app.
Why is my casino app withdrawal still pending?
A pending withdrawal is usually waiting for the operator's internal approval, which comes before the payment itself is sent. Common causes are identity checks, an active bonus or a large amount; Coral and Ladbrokes, for example, say Visa payouts above £2,000 take longer. Check your account messages for any document request. Our guide to a casino app withdrawal pending walks through the fixes.
Do I have to verify my ID before a casino app pays out?
Yes, but in Great Britain verification should mostly happen before you gamble, not at withdrawal. Operators must check your age and identity before you can deposit or play, and they can't make ID a withdrawal condition if they could have asked earlier, except where the law requires it at that point. Some may request extra documents later. Read do casino apps check ID? for what to expect.
Is there a fee to withdraw from a casino app?
Usually not, but check the operator's terms. Coral and Ladbrokes say they don't charge withdrawal fees. Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals under £10 and nothing from £10 upwards. PlayOJO and 10bet don't publish withdrawal fees, so look in the cashier before you confirm. Your bank or e-wallet may have its own charges. See is there a fee to withdraw from a casino app?
Can I cancel a casino app withdrawal and play with it instead?
No. Since 31 October 2021, licensed operators in Great Britain can't give you the option to cancel a withdrawal request, and they shouldn't offer to let you deposit those funds again. The rule exists because reversing withdrawals made it easy to gamble away money you had already decided to keep. Read can I cancel a withdrawal in a casino app? and our page on the reverse withdrawal ban.
Who do I complain to if a casino app won't pay?
Complain to the operator first, through its published complaints procedure. It has 8 weeks to resolve the issue, after which it must offer referral to a free ADR provider such as IBAS. The Gambling Commission doesn't settle individual disputes, but it does want to hear about operators breaking the rules. Read can I complain about a casino app to the Gambling Commission?
