Because Betfred quotes a security-check window and a separate transfer time, the realistic range runs from a few hours to several days. The examples below simply add Betfred's published figures together. They aren't measured times.

The amount doesn't change the published times, but larger or unusual withdrawals are more likely to be looked at closely. If your first withdrawal comes soon after you open the account, allow for the slower column. Weekends and bank holidays can also affect BACS, which runs on banking days.

Betfred withdrawal methods: what you can cash out to

Betfred's deposit and withdrawal lists don't fully match. You can deposit by open banking, but the withdrawal page names instant bank payment and BACS rather than open banking itself.

E-wallets and phone wallets don't appear on Betfred's published lists, so check the cashier before relying on one. Credit cards can't be used for gambling in Great Britain, under the credit card ban. Does Betfred charge withdrawal fees?

No. Betfred's withdrawal guide says it does not charge anyone for withdrawing their own funds, and its deposit page says there are no deposit fees either. That's in line with the Gambling Commission's position that operators shouldn't cap withdrawals of your deposit balance, and that any fee should be limited to the direct cost of the transaction. ID checks and Betfred app withdrawals

Since 7 May 2019, every UK operator has had to verify your age and identity before you can deposit or gamble. In practice, most of the checking happens at sign-up, not when you first try to cash out. Betfred's 48-hour security window is separate and can apply to any withdrawal.

The Gambling Commission's identity verification guidance (opens in a new tab) says operators shouldn't ask for ID only at the point of withdrawal when they could have asked earlier. It also says they can't confiscate funds because you didn't verify within a time limit. • Financial information if your net deposits trigger a financial vulnerability check. These checks have applied since 28 February 2025 when net deposits pass £150 in 30 days.

Betfred withdrawal pending or delayed: what to do

A pending withdrawal is usually still inside the security-check window. If it has gone well past Betfred's published times, work through these steps:

1. Check your transaction history to confirm that the request went through and which method it's going to.
2. Look for any message asking for documents, and send them if one has arrived.
3. Allow the full 48-hour security window plus the usual time for your method.
4. Contact Betfred's live chat from the Contact Us area. Third-party listings say there's no phone line.
5. If you're still not satisfied, make a formal complaint. If it isn't resolved, take it to the operator's alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider.

You can't be offered the option to reverse a withdrawal back into your balance. The Commission banned reverse withdrawals (opens in a new tab) for all online operators from 31 October 2021. With no wagering, any spin winnings are paid as withdrawable cash under those terms. The spins have a face value of 200 × 10p = £20, but what they return varies widely, and because of the house edge, spins return less than their face value on average. Can you trust Betfred with withdrawals? Licence and record

Betfred holds a Gambling Commission licence. Done Brothers (Cash Betting) Limited, trading as Betfred, is listed under account 1058, and Petfre (Gibraltar) Limited is linked to betfred.com in a 2026 Commission settlement. Holding a UK licence means it has to follow the Commission's rules on fair terms and withdrawals.

Betfred has also been penalised. In September 2022, trade press reported a £2.87m penalty and an official warning over anti-money-laundering and social responsibility failures, including no controls on high-velocity spending by new customers. On 7 November 2025, Done Brothers was given an £825,000 penalty, a warning and an extra licence condition for anti-money-laundering and customer interaction failures.
